For the last fourteen years Other Voices has been capturing musical performances in intimate spaces. The TV show and music festival which began in Dingle, Ireland has travelled to London, New York, Derry, Latitude Festival and Ireland's premier music festival, Electric Picnic.
I had the great pleasure of meeting Fergus some years ago. He'd lent some music kit to one of the local festivals and someone asked if I could drop it back up to his home in Schull. TBH I wasn't aware of his music at the time so I had no preconceptions. Anyway I arrived up there, it was a glorious sunny day and Fergus came out to see who'd turned up in his driveway. I thought it'd be a quick drop off and away, but something caught me. Can't quite put my finger on it but it was definitely something to do with his aura and personality. I ended up sitting on the driveway and we just chatted away for half an hour or so. I was struck by his curiosity, his love for life, and just his sheer generosity of spirit. We never got to meet again, but I came away that day on a high - a feeling that all was well with the world. It's a fond memory of one of those little times that leave their mark. RIP Fergus, thanks for that memory and boy is your music wonderful :)

I am a fan of all music from Trad, folk to Rock, My God what a song this is, would really loved to have seen this performance Be gob Fergus left us way too young he and many others,Rory Gallagher, Philip Lynott ,Gary Moore and many more of our Heroes I really wish they had made many more trips around the Sun on this little Rock we call home, see ye sometime my lovely lovely Gentlemen xx xx xx
