Oh for fucksake this is beautiful!
It really hurts me, you know, she's so UNDERRATED....
She is loved all around the world.
Hauntingly beautiful voice.
Face and voice of an angel ... What a performance!!!
omg 2:45 to the end it's the most beautiful thing i've ever heard
This is my favourite video of this Lisa Hannigan song. Each member of the band plays such an integral part to the whole. Always love watching Ross Turner on drums and the supporting vocals of Heather Woods Broderick (herself, a striking artist) are a fantastic foil to Lisa's own. I think the sound and the drama even, of Lisa's harmonium playing is great. I have seen her live at the Barbican recently (the whole thing was brilliant) but really keen to see her playing with her band some time but she's in such demand everywhere. Purchased At Swim and would thoroughly recommend it!
Chris Peacock mine is the one with all the vinyls in the background, and it’s just her vocals and her guitar. Idk why but that version always makes me cry. This is really cool but it doesn’t move me like the other one.
don't get me wrong as I love Damian Rice an I'll be ever so gratefull for the music he an lisa produced together but in my opinion I honestly think it's the best
thing lisa did was leave an start up on her own otherwise they'd be no masterpiece like this an so much more of her work is just amazing! love u lisa ✌💜
Lisa Hannigan and Damien Rice parted ways in March 2007. Lisa Hannigan had said they will not be getting back together. I respect that, and therefore it's not actually necessary to keep referring Lisa in the context of Damien Rice imo.
Lisa has/had her own band, wrote and sang her own songs, offered her own unique interpretation of others songs, has collaborated with other singers sans Damien Rice, is an excellent performer on the guitar and pump organ, and has toured successfully as an independent artist. That's how I see Lisa Hannigan.
@@jamesdolan4042 Yeh exactly
Perfection.
Most complete arrangement I've ever had the pleasure to experience :)
How does this not have a million views?
Becasuse, we are "indie"...
It really hurts me, you know ?

What a beautiful song.
Is that a freaking Harmonium she's playing??
It looks like one
Beautiful!
Tellement beau! Bravo.
:O Sublime!
Love,love love
We, the drowned
Hold our hollow hearted ground
Til we swallow ourselves down
Again
We, the ashes,
We spend our days like matches
And burned ourselves as black as
The end.
We know not the fire in which we burn
But we sing and we sing
And the flames grow higher.
We read not the pages which we turn
But we sing, and we sing, and we sing, and we sing
We, the wrong,
We the sewn up and long gone,
Were before and all along
Like this
We, the drowned
The lost and found out,
We are all finished again.
We the Drowned
The Lost and Found
Out
We are Finished Again
her voice is so magical and beautiful and...wow
btw is lisa's backing vocalist also sharon van etten's backing vocalist?
that is right
Por Dios
Great song, great vocals. Could have dialed back on the percussion....too distracting for my taste.
we saw her live and the drummer ruined almost every song. he may be good, but it's not like mars volta or anything... know your place?
there's plenty of versions of this song without the drums, I think they add an interesting flavor to this performance!
Truth.
Who wrote this song?
What instrument is she playing?
No disrespect to the drummer but it kinda killed the song
Right, I literally said aloud "what the fuck is he doing".
guess the drummer didn't know the song :P
Honestly. That timing at the start......
there's nothing wrong with the drummer the timing is spot on...u obviously don't know the song.
@@jupiterr9892 You are wrong
Am I the only one crying like an idiot?
No you're not. My mother died not long ago and I cry like an idiot when I think of her AND when I hear this song. In this world, sometimes a clown must cry.
