Yes, this is great, her voice is great, but, please, the ABBA sample is the best thing that could happen to this song. It's what made this so vicious. God save the queen!
you probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can stream pretty much all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my brother during the lockdown :)
this was the version used in the motorola ROKR commercial madonna was in where they all jam in the phone booth.... the abba sample hadn't yet been approved... mostly just the beat/instrumental
We've got to accept that, without the ABBA sample, this song it's not the same. But, let's see the other point of view: At least Madonna knows how to use a sample.
The ABBA sample is what makes the song but it’s how she and Stuart used it and pumped it up thay makes it legendary. The ABBA song was never a hit worldwide like Hung Up was anyway so they made tons off of it too
@@mikeparez "The ABBA song was never a hit worldwide like Hung Up was ": Duh?! Wikipedia: "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" was another highly successful song for ABBA. It hit no. 1 in Belgium, Finland, France, Ireland, and Switzerland, while reaching the Top 3 in Austria, Germany, The United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and Norway. It also proved to be ABBA's most successful song in Japan, hitting no. 17.
The Demo Version of Hung Up is brilliant-Madonna with that tear, catch and sob in her beautiful voice. That's what separates her from the rest of the Dance Crowd. Rock On Madge!
See...I'm friends with a leo. When we work on a project together it always somehow ends up being "her idea" in the end. It made me think after years of working with her how much of that is Madonna also. They are So alike in many ways.
I'm friends with lots of Leos who aren't like that. The Leos I know really love being the centre of attention, but they don't like getting credit when it's undue. They sometimes embellish stories a bit, and they love being praised, but they like praise for their own accomplishments. They're also very creative people in general. And, besides, Pat Leonard has spoken about their writing process a lot in interviews and says it's very much a collaboration with him composing music and harmonies and her writing lyrics and melodies. Multiple people who were in the studio during the sessions for "Into the Groove" say that the bridge of the song was originally just an instrumental until Madonna stepped up to the mic and improvised the whole "Live out your fantasy..." bit. Shep Pettibone kept a diary throughout the "Erotica" recording that details production decisions Madonna made on songs that he didn't think would work out (such as the flamenco guitar in "Deeper and Deeper"). Rick Nowels, after working with her on some songs for "Ray of Light", said that he was very impressed with her writing and feels she doesn't get enough credit as a songwriter because he thinks she's a very talented pop writer. There are demos from the "Music" recording sessions that have Madonna stating her opinions on what should be changed or new ideas. Producers she worked with on "MDNA" specifically stated that they expected her to just show up on vocal recording day, lay down some vox, and then leave, but they were surprised to discover that she was heavily involved in every part of the process, basically lived in the studio until the album was complete, and how she made most of the production decisions.
What a great demo of this song. I have heard so many Madonna demo's & some of the demo's are better then the original of course I love every version of everything she does because the bottom line is she is & will forever be the queen of pop
they changed A LOT of the sounds, even the chords are more prominent, effects, It's even surprising they decided to keep on working on this demo, it had nothing special tbh lol they put a lot of hours to make it sound great and bring more ideas and production
This is a demo, without the added base or synths. Its true the sample adds a nostalgic vibe but this song with the complete production would have been a huge hit without the ABBA riff. What you are hearing here, is a demo.
For another popstar, this would've been fine. The rawness has a Goldfrapp vibe which is cool. But thankfully, Madonna made it smooth, sleek and sonically beautiful
IF YOU THINK THAT WAY, ALL MADONNAS HITS ARE BASELINE: I SAID: LIKE A VIRGIN IS BILLIE JEAN, MATERIAL GIRL IS BEAT IT,... INTO THE GROOVE IS SITUATION ...OR AM I WRONG...
True. The bass line is the same as the one for Gimme Gimme Gimme. it get's most evident when you listen to ABBA's Spanish version of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! where the bass is more audible. However, I think what Madonna and Stuart price did with the ABBA-sample and bass-line is amazing. Hung Up is a great song on it's own, even if it doesn't work without the ABBA-sample.
SO MUCH BETTER!!! the vocals are more organic. i always thought the ABBA sample was a bit cheesy. would be cool to hear this version with some post production done to it.
the unique good song of madonna is hung up and this is for the sample of abba... i know what without the abba sample this song was nothing and reitered what i said with this demo HAHA
***** I don't believe it's a stem edit but I'm not ruling it out. I have yet to find anyone who has them. I'd actually like to find the stems so I could make a proper promo tour version with better quality
I think they already had copied Gimmie's sample but somehow didnt make it very obvious underneath this demo beat. And after lots of talking, Price and Madonna were like, "We def need to talk to ABBAS and get the full real version sample" lol
Yes, this is great, her voice is great, but, please, the ABBA sample is the best thing that could happen to this song. It's what made this so vicious. God save the queen!
+Maurício Galassi I think that's the identifier for this song. Vicious.
you probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can stream pretty much all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my brother during the lockdown :)
@Lance Karsyn definitely, I have been using instaflixxer for since november myself =)
@Lance Karsyn Definitely, I have been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself :D
actually, a part of the abba sample is used here
this was the version used in the motorola ROKR commercial madonna was in where they all jam in the phone booth.... the abba sample hadn't yet been approved... mostly just the beat/instrumental
wow her vocals here so good ! can't stop listhen to this
Sometimes I think she sings better on the demos. Her voice is so clear and good in this.
I actually think they use the same vocal takes as the demo version on the final
Bc the voice it isn't edited
I love her vocals

"At least Madonna knows how to use a sample.": Madonna or Stuart Price? ;)

@@Gazeld It wasn't a hit in the United States which is where Hung Up was made popular! Merica!
@@milesfann33 "worldwide" doesn't mean "US" in any way. So why correct me? Correct the original poster.
The Demo Version of Hung Up is brilliant-Madonna with that tear, catch and sob in her beautiful voice. That's what separates her from the rest of the Dance Crowd. Rock On Madge!
Stuart Price made this.. Obvious. Awesome producer.
true. The queen is the queen.

Hes awesome, we need him back
Actually ABBA did this. The demo is nothing without the ABBA sample
I love the demo versions RAW, BEAUTIFUL, AUTHENTIC, SIMPLY MADONNA AT HER BEST!!!
What a great demo of this song. I have heard so many Madonna demo's & some of the demo's are better then the original of course I love every version of everything she does because the bottom line is she is & will forever be the queen of pop
Love the vocals here
THIS is FABULOUS! I think I prefer THIS to be honest. it's brilliant!!!
they changed A LOT of the sounds, even the chords are more prominent, effects, It's even surprising they decided to keep on working on this demo, it had nothing special tbh lol they put a lot of hours to make it sound great and bring more ideas and production
Omg her vocals!!! It does sound weird without ABBA but this beat in general needs work though, very early production indeed!
As versões DEMO da "era CONFESSIONS" são melhores que as duas últimas eraS inclusive a atual!!!
As demos de rebel heart são perfeitas, cara
i luv how her vox are more present
I love her vocal here!

Best era
But, this still has the ABBA baseline.
IF YOU THINK THAT WAY, ALL MADONNAS HITS ARE BASELINE: I SAID: LIKE A VIRGIN IS BILLIE JEAN, MATERIAL GIRL IS BEAT IT,... INTO THE GROOVE IS SITUATION ...OR AM I WRONG...
carlos laime Vogue is Bad by MJ, you're right 😂
you are wrong

carlos laime Material Girl is Can You Feel It, not Beat It
still has the Abba's bassline
Not
no
SO MUCH BETTER!!! the vocals are more organic. i always thought the ABBA sample was a bit cheesy. would be cool to hear this version with some post production done to it.
I really love this version,i would love to have the instrumental of this!
I love it!!
it's tops!! even without abba sample!
I prefer motorola version
Much better! Clean!
1:47 - 2:18 ♥
so this wouldn't have been a hit without Abbas perm to use the sample
@Alpha well abba gets royalties for the use of the sample
@iaintsorry abba gets royalties for it
This is a demo, you cannot make that assumption based on a rough demo
os vocais melhoraram bastante na versão finalizada
awesome!
It's pretty much vocals on top of the same beat repeating throughout the whole song.
the unique good song of madonna is hung up and this is for the sample of abba... i know what without the abba sample this song was nothing and reitered what i said with this demo HAHA
i think this is a just a stem edit to be honest. some people do have the stems, but it sounds good
vocals on this are completely different than the final one. i actually prefer these vocals, sounds so much better
because its the lead vocal sir, of course it sounds different
***** I don't believe it's a stem edit but I'm not ruling it out. I have yet to find anyone who has them. I'd actually like to find the stems so I could make a proper promo tour version with better quality
viva la reina
sounds like kelis 4th of july at parts
you mean Kelis sounds like Hung Up. Hung Up Came up half a decade before "4th of July"
I like it but it needs a "pow" factor. More bass or louder or something...
Intéressant mais oui le sample d'abba fait tout le tube parce que c'est franchement morne comme base !
I think they already had copied Gimmie's sample but somehow didnt make it very obvious underneath this demo beat. And after lots of talking, Price and Madonna were like, "We def need to talk to ABBAS and get the full real version sample" lol
Wrong. It sounds nothing like ABBA. Its a dance track
this have a sample from "abba version"
With this vocal the song would’ve been a bigger hit the chorus is better and simpler
1:47 - 2:18
Tbh...........I like this version a tad bit better 😬
I perfer this
Certainly loses its Disco feel without the addition of the ABBA sample. More electronic and bare. 🤷🏻♂️
muito melhor sem o sampler do ABBA !
não..
Better than the original
OK not a fan of this Demo
So basically just the same song without a sample, A bba made it a hit. Madonna copycat
Enrique Gonzalez it’s called sampling not copying.
Go away child
Enrique Gonzalez The sample was perfect for the song , and she did pay for it.
Madonna made it a hit just like she always does, with or without sampling u idiot
Totally legal to do so, she payed for it, fuck off idiot.
Should’ve been on album instead of the version she released
