I have the same thing for my ninja and it's currently wrapped in foil. Too hard to keep it clean. Maybe I could use it on the master built portable?

Flipping the grill grates is a winning move. I learned about that a few years ago. I make the smash burgers on the M16 with the grill grates flipped. 🍔🍔
Another trick is to let them sit for 30 seconds then smash. It makes a difference. Not sure why, but it does.
