The black markings you engrave are beautiful! I will try this with my 50W mopa... may need to adjust the settings a bit though. Ususally my Q-Pulse is set at 200, haven't tried 60 yet. Thanks for the insightful video!
Terrific! Thanks for showing the settings and explaining that portion. I’m about to run out to the shop and work on lasering some leather and then a challenge coin!
@@Nonprofessional_Tinkerer I don’t know how to upload the picture. However, the project took three hours to do one side (I did a Topo map). I copied your settings and wonder if I can speed it up
im guessing you cant do this if ona 30w raycus ou need a mopa laser for the Frerqueency as my one I just bought doesn't go as far as 450hz obvs. I'm new to fiber so trying to figure out thanks great video though..
Try at 450 and see the result im not sure it will be much different but worth a try :) the frequency inlightburn is amendable by the user so worth getting the specs for your laser and making sure it is max 450 or can be set to higher
Thanks for this. I noticed the stand on your laser, are you using a 300x300 lens? What's the apparatus that the coin was sitting on? Also, did you build an enclosure? Quite the setup, would love an overview if you're looking for video ideas.
@@bearsstuff thank you, the coin stand is something i found on thingiverse and 3D printed. The laser enclosure i built from old 3D printers i nolonger used, its made of aluminium extrusion and 3mm MDF for the top half. Sitting on a frame of extrusion holding the case of the laser. Its all on wheels so i can move it around. I can certainly do a video, its cheap but keeps the fumes and dust away, add a webcam and you can watch your engravings in complete safety. The lens im currently using is 150mm.

@@spencerc4054 what was the size of the project? a coin black engraving shouldnt take that long at 1500mms unless your speed it set to 1500mm/m
Very nice I am going to try those settings. Never tried a Frequency/Q-pulse combination like that.
Me either but it works
That's beautiful! 😀

@@Nonprofessional_Tinkerer think my machine only goes to 60hz. For raycus right.
@@magic1nds yes unfortunately raycus 30w can only go to 60. Still worth a try at 60 to see the result
@@Nonprofessional_Tinkerer yeah true
