But after this past season, even I had to admit my foolishness. You see it start around the Julio Jones toe tap catch that there's a ton of optimism, that Atlanta despite letting the Patriots back in it were going to put the dagger in. Then Ryan gets sacked. Then the holding call on Matthews, and the crowd starts to get restless. The Falcons have to punt, giving the ball back with more than enough time for the Patriots to score and tie it. Then the Edelman catch. At first it's jubilation because they think he didn't catch it. Then the realization he did, it's stunned looks and hands on heads. This is when the crowd starts to realize, subconsciously, that it's over. Up until this point the Falcons had benefited from most of the bounces (the Gostkowski muffed onside kick, the Jones catch, etc). Now they realize they don't even have the bounces going their way anymore, and the Falcons don't have a shot. From there it's just a slow, painful march to the end. At the end it's pure sadness, outrage, and stunned looks.

I worked for a company that is HQ'd in northern Atlanta. I was out there for meetings and at a sports bar for this game and the college championship game between Georgia and Alabama. Both times I saw a person destroy their own car in the parking lot after the game. This game is was just some 10 yr old Chevy, but after the Bama-Georgia game I saw a dude go out and destroy his brand new BMW. He really wasn't that drunk either, just very pissed off.

I worked for a company that is HQ'd in northern Atlanta. I was out there for meetings and at a sports bar for this game and the college championship game between Georgia and Alabama. Both times I saw a person destroy their own car in the parking lot after the game. This game is was just some 10 yr old Chevy, but after the Bama-Georgia game I saw a dude go out and destroy his brand new BMW. He really wasn't that drunk either, just very pissed off.
