Some people say, the second guitar solo of comfortably numb as played on the pulse tour is the best guitar solo ever recorded. And it tends to to agree. The way David Gilmore makes his guitar sing is beyond comparison!

    • @OriginalPuro

      They sing together.
It's perfect harmony between man and machine, like the guitar is a part of him.

I do agree, It's without a doubt one of the greatest solos ever recorded, but people should never forget the solo from Parisienne Walkways by Gary Moore. That thing hits hard...

@@teknotonyPerfectly correct, but tell someone to check out The Division Bell tour and they will be lost.
Call it the Pulse tour and they have heard of it......and can easily find it.

David Gilmour does not simply play the guitar. He tells a story with it.
There are some songs that no matter how may times you hear it, you never tire of it. This is one of them. The Dark Side Of The Moon is an album which also fits that description.

This is from the 1994 tour and I went to see them live. The entire concert was amazing and when you see the visuals and the environment they provide it's only looking at the stage. On the stadium floor the sound is all around you and the visuals are in front of you and over your head all the way behind you. You are immersed and can't even tell there is a world outside that stadium Unforgettable. I'm a long time subscriber and fan of yours. Beautiful

Great choice - so at this concert there are 3 of the original members. Lead singer/guitarist (Dave Gilmour), the drummer (Nick Mason) and keyboardist (Richard Wright). Personally I always thought that the best rock band was between them and Led Zepplin. But they're both brilliant in their own way. I mean Pink Floyd had an album in the Billboard top 200 for something like 988 (non consecutive) weeks.

David was in the band since 1968, this are damned 55 years now and true he replaced Sid Barrett who was member in the first 3 years. But he was with the band in their most famous times and did write/compose so many famous songs. To say he is not an original member because he was not in from the very first start, is absolutely, totally wrong. Shame on you @Lenco1980

Pink Floyd was world famous for their Lightshow (because they feared people would get bored just by the guitar solos). The stage show during the pulse tour was way ahead of its time. To my knowledge they were among the first to have the light show computerized (back in 1994, some 30 years ago!) Glad you noticed that!

David Gilmour, while not the most "technical" guitarist out there, is certainly one of the most emotive, really making you feel what the song was meant to convey. He has said that he struggles with expressing his emotions, so he lets his guitar do the talking (or crying) for him.

As someone with chronic neuromuscular pain, this is the Pink Floyd song that means the most to me personally. It was written by Roger Waters and the experience he had after receiving a pain shot for abdominal pain right before going on stage. As the song says, his hands felt so swollen he could barely play his guitar. Later on, his belly pain was diagnoses as hepatitis. It is also one of the greatest guitar solos by David Gilmour that has ever been played. In some ways just listening to their music is a form of pain relief.

    • @robertmartin8565

It was actually written by David Gilmour and Roger Waters. Gilmour had composed the music for this song during the sessions for his first solo album. Waters added the lyrics during The Wall sessions.

Hi Ola. I'm a 70 year old man. I grew up listening to all the old bands you enjoy so much. I found your site about 2 weeks ago. I've been catching up on your music taste. Since I'm a new listener, I don't think I'll get much attention, but for your benefit, not mine, listen to one band I haven't found on your page. The Who, is the name of the band. The song that will rewrite your view of rock music is, Won't Get Fooled Again. Live or studio. Live is more fun. The Who are legendary. Same time frame as all of your old time favorites. Thanks. You are very fun to watch. Great reactions.

Hi there. Thanks for your great reaction. Pink Floyd were formed in 1965, I am 67 and am a lifelong fan. I bought my first album in 1971, called Atom Heart Mother. Pink Floyd started as a Psychedeloic Rock band but later evolved into a Progressive Rock band, the genre they are most known for today. I bought all Pink Floyd Albums since this but, in my opinion, to really understand the personality and greatness of this band it is essential to watch live performances. They are one of those rare bands who are better live than on albums (though their studio albums are also works of genius). There are many live condcerts available online but they were at their absolute peak at this 1994 Pulse concert you have just sampled. Everything on this concert is worth listening to and everyone from David Gilmour on guitar. Rick Wright on keyboards and Nick Mason on drums, through to alll the guest artists, the extra drummer, the basist, the backing singers, and the lightinh specialst were at the top of their game. I hope you enjoy reacting to more.

Welcome in the wonderful music world of Pink Floyd. Fan from the start and got all (studio) albums. And the DVD of Pulse. This is the best performance of the song Comfortably Numb from the performance of The Wall.

Great Gig in the Sky. I have a funny feeling your reaction to that song would be epic. Live version of course. Now if you excuse me, gotta go hit that subscribe button.

I noticed that you did go listen to this song. I had said in my last comment that if you wanted to listen to another long guitar solo, then go listen to this song. Looks like l wasn't the only person who suggested it to you. Lol Nice reaction to the song.😊

Sorry, I don't know anything about the "Telegram" platform. However, I saw a business email on the home page, so I sent an email to that.
