I really do hope they go along with what you mentioned about more complicated songs in full game. If they could do something where you get the small buffs for attacking but can do recital to strengthen the buffs that would be a great addition and bring back at least a bit of the depth that it used to have imo. With recital providing stronger melodies, that would also mean that when they run out you wouldn't be completely out of luck, as you could just attack and get at least a small buff out of it while you wait for the right time to perform.

World was my first game, and at first I used the hammer until I discovered the sheer power of the horn. The more horn mains there are the better because the the best proven weapons combo is the four horns of the Apocalypse
On the topic of harder to do songs, they'll probably at least increase one note to do, just like in the old games the first horns always had 3 notes combos(especially the basic horn attack, defense, health up), all the others had 4

I'm with you on hoping that HH is a bit more complicated in Rise. Old HH was ponderous, queueing up songs to play wasn't always damage optimal, and you'd only really end up using 2-3 rarely 4 of the song list per horn but it felt so good to play HH well. It required an intimate knowledge of monster attack patterns and an intuitive feel of how your attacks will land while playing a given song (plus knowing how to "cheat" by squeezing in extra notes with the double swing or handle jab attacks) so the weapon wasn't for the recently initiated to MH but when it all comes together and you can get a full recital plus encore off on a monster's face leading to a KO... Man that's just a high I chase for the rest of the game.

It would be cool if the new hunting horn had 2 modes: 1 is the new beginner friendly auto song mode, and the other is the older manual mode. (Kinda like how some fighting games have auto combo mode and a more technical mode.) Either way HH looks cool in Rise 😊

New HH is still complex in a way the combos moveset varies a lot depending on the previous note and next note. You don't have to worry about the note sequence, but more on the moveset sequence itself
I do love this weapon and I know I'm gonna play a lot of it to support my son while we play together. I've always been curious about the horn even went back to Worldborne to try it out after playing it in the demo. Gonna do a vid of my own on it later for sure!

Rise feels so much more casual than any other Monster Hunter game. Which i dont know if I like? Coming from almost 3k hunts on the horn in world to rise it doesnt even feel like the same weapon at all and that really dissapointed me BUT if it gets more people to try the series I'm all for it.
Doesn't feel remotely "casual" to me. It's just smoother and more fluid, which is inherently more accessible, but they didn't make the game any less complex. The HH feels like it has the same design principles to me too (a combo you create from individual attacks to produce the right buffs), just divided into note pairs rather than single notes and much faster. Na man. You've been playing too much demo. When the full game comes out with more monsters, landscapes, the rampage, and more then you can make a statement. World HH is prob the funnest in any series with echo waves and attack with more backslams options.
Recital mode will return for HH. There will be interchangable moves for every weapon and different silk bind moves too. If i wanted to hear some music similar to what you played in this video what do I search? That was really rad.

The two devs liked the question but couldn't answer. So here's to hoping for what you said on simple and complicated or rather higher impact buffs
Super Nova Vortex with old hh I had to concentrate more on my positioning and pressing the right buttons to line up specific songs as well as find openings to play the songs but with hh in rise there’s no need for me to concentrate on lining up notes cause you just play every note once and then magnificent trio and all the buffs are instantly activated after that it’s just a matter of spamming attacks till song of raging flame can be activated and then just using the strong wirebug move. It’s still fun to play but as someone who’s used hh a lot in the past it gets boring pretty fast.
