    I am VERY excited for the full game. I'm really diggin so many of the weapons. Even while making this video, I found out new stuff and some opinions changed so I'll be talking about weapons in separate videos instead of trying to cram it all into one vid. :) TY for your patience with me and the channel lol

    The developers mentioned before how a lot of those high grounds are safe zones - those grey areas on the map, trying to replicate the feel of zone swapping in older games to take a breather. HowEVER, if you look very closely, there is one spot of green high up near the peak of the highest mountain. They are definitely going to use that as a monster arena for something.

      I've seen great izuchi run across one of the "safe" zones while moving between areas. I think that Herny's idea for a monster that hops across the mountains is quite likely, just as a transitional thing. A bit like some monsters leaping across the rocks in the far west of the ancient forest

      Rise is kinda like a side-grade to World, seeing as its releasing soon, its hard to make last min changes to the weapon hits and its obvious the team who worked on Rise didn't care abt this aspect of gameplay which is sad because the whole point of this game is to use cool weapons to hunt monsters and have a good experience of the hunt. When all your weapons can do is make a weak 'splish' sound with the sub-par visual hit effect, i can understand why its a bit of a turn off. Hopefully the team uses this installment to experiment with the new mechanics and learn from what worked and what didn't, then give us the TRUE polished hunt experience in the next-gen console version.

I'm all down for it but i doubt there would be changes to the core designs they have assigned to Rise weapons so near to the release date. This would mean recording/creating new sounds and new visual hit effects to have the weapons feel believable and proper sound quality, which would require an overhaul for all the weapons. Also for players, having to sort of re-learn/get used to a new weapon standard since they have released all those previous weapon trailers leading up to the game's release. Daunting task, but its possible i guess.

    I think dual blades recieved a lot of negatives, at least in the demo. I love me some db, and while you can definitely stay in demon mode for longer, maybe due to the armor, maybe due to just general stamina use changes, it feels, less.
    Like, I hit for next to nothing, the silk binds we got, at least in the demo, at weak as hell, and the defensive one is just slinger burst but worse, and the offensive one is just worse wolf's maw, with a tiny effective hit range and pitiful damage.
    Overall, its hits feel weak as well. Almost, paper cut-esq and they feel bad, though that could be due to the weapon in question, I know a few world db that feel shit to land hits with, so it could just be that.

I especially really like the movement speed in demon mode now: it's literally faster than sprinting. also, the offensive silkbind adds tons of damage and only costs one wirebug. Honestly, all the weapons were doing fairly pathetic damage, but that's almost certainly because the demo doesn't have armorsets with decent skills.

      Never judge damage from a demo. It's silkbinds actually are good for the weapon, there's a reason they had to nerf adept db from generations and it got added here. The other silkbind scales on how much hits you land while you're tethered which isn't an issue for dbs.

    That's the only complaint I have as well. Weapons are missing a lot of impact to them. In World/Iceborne they would purposefully hitch to indicate you were hitting something here it feels like you're swinging at air sometimes almost like the weapons or monsters have no real weight to them. Also the dogs drift harder than the joycons.

    Th weird thing about lack of hitlag is the removal of savage axe. The main reason I never used it in world is because savage axe would put you in a disadvantaged state because of how much hitlag you'd experience on every hit, you'd make a long axe attack become like twice as long for little benefit.
    But now in rise, there's like no hitlag, so savage axe would work a lot better here but it's gone?
    Aw well, I never used the thing anyways considering it was pretty much made for elemental builds.

    only thing i dont agree with you on is wyvern riding, its to date my favorite mechanic of any game along with the wire bugs

    • @tzera_rhuon
      @tzera_rhuon 3 года назад

      Wyden riding is fine yet it needs a slight adjustment to how easy it is to initiate, like instead of just pressing a button have the player hold wirebug + x to mount - I've had too many 'accidental' mounts that break the flow of battle.

    The only problems I have is that we don’t have some version of Valor parry for Longsword, and the return of World HBG. Even if it would have to be nerfed, Valor parry was just significantly cooler than foresight slash in my eyes. And the HBG complaint is offset by the new charge mechanic, which I’m interested in seeing how that plays out in the future.

    Also, there is problem with input queuing. I dont know if the full game will have it but it feels like my inputs arent registered as early as they were in world. Most notably with the longsword, greatsword, sword and shield and chargeblade. They feel more sluggish and there are some pauses in between the attacks that i dont want to be in there. And i know its not just me because some other people are also reporting it. What are your experiences with this if you had any?

      I'm not Herny, but yeah. The buffering was calmed down bit, which I personally like (I'm not a big fan of aggressive move buffering), but I can see it rubbing some people the wrong way. In world, you could buffer a new button like..halfway-through the previous animation. In Rise, it's more like three quarters of the way through.

    Around 200 hours of my 300+ hours on MHW were bow and I'm fairly confident long sword will be my main which was a majority or the rest of the playtime. Bow doesn't really have the sams impact it has in MHW and long sword feels so good.

    • @tzera_rhuon
      @tzera_rhuon 3 года назад

      Bow really feels terrible without the spread shot for stamina regen. It's difficult to predict as I'm sure the armour set provided in the demo isn't optimised for such a stamina-hungry weapon. In the very least it's not as bad as the demo Insect Glaive, which is completely butchered.
