On the ingredient list it contains Alcohol Denat, which is known to be drying in certain formulations. I was not attracted to Garneir’s micellar water partly because of this.

The garnier waterproof Micellar water in the blue bottle always worked way better on my skin for some reason and seemed more gentle but was better at removing makeup. I may try this one...I don't wear mascara often but I have extra rows of lashes (it's not cute, they poke in all directions but mostly grow straight so I just get a bit more eyelid Def but they shrink my small eyes). I have to use liner at this age to get any true eye definition, and it gets trapped in the lashes, even harder to remove than mascara. I have a wonderful liner collection tho, and maybe Garnier will break it down.

I picked bamboo over standard cotton as it's more sustainable and I looked at heavily at the reviews for how long the rounds held up through uses and washing etc. I also looked at the laundry instructions, as I wanted the easiest care possible. It didn't take me very long to find what I was looking for and I bought 2 sets of 20 rounds. If they get stained and that bothers you, try some Oxiclean. @Robert you have to try the Simple Micellar water if you can find it in that UK. The one in the blue bottle (Hydro boost) is better than the original green bottle but they are both amazing. I recommend it to everyone, I won’t touch another brand for micellar water or face cleanser. It won’t sting your eyes at all, doesn’t make the skin tight, your skin just feels soft and clean. It’s so unbelievably underrated, I hear no one ever talking about it. Incredible for sensitive skin. Garnier is kind of garbage in my opinion, just not gentle on the skin and doesn’t work well.

I have been wondering why my skin was so crazy dry and flaky lately... I thought it was either my NYX concealer or the Garnier water, and even though it didn't burn and I usually wash it away with regular water I had the feeling it was something alcohol-related. I still need to do some testing but by what I'm reading it might very well be the micellar water... Also because I was getting flaky on the cheeks too and that's not a place where I usually use concealer. Definitely going to buy another one.

Yes! I used to used plain coconut oil, but I'm still pretty acnegenic (even at 43 😑), so I had to find something else to use as a first cleanse. That's the *only* downside I found to using coconut oil as a first cleanse/makeup remover--it has a high number comedogenic score and it really seemed to break me out, even being on my face for only a few minutes. I really loved the way coconut oil broke down my makeup so quickly and easily, and the warmth from your skin very quickly turned it from a solid paste into a quite luxurious feeling, thin oil. A few years ago I switched to a cleansing cream by The Face Shop, and I love it.

It’s soft and gentle around the delicate eye area and leaves the skin soft and skin clean. I also don’t get breakouts after it. I always do a double cleans after a take make up off. Just to be sure I have it all off. I use cotton pads soaked in bioderma on my eyes first to break down the eye make up. Cotton buds to remove any eye make up left. You can really get in to the base of the eyelashes. I hate make up on my pillowcases lol 😂

I was introduced to Bioderma back sometime between 2008-2010 by Pixiwoo (the sisters behind Real Techniques who were some of the OG beauty RUclipsrs). I found it in my local drugstore and I’ve literally been using it (the one with the pink cap called SensiBio, specifically for sensitive skin, which is the same one in this video) for literally at least 12 years. My mom uses it too. It’s literally the only micellar water I’ll use. The general public, including myself, really didn’t know what “micellar water” was back then. Most makeup removers were either those oil ones you shake up or makeup wipes. This changed the game for me. It’s one of my holy grail products. It feels, looks, smells like water but soft and soothing water that gently cleanses skin and removes a good amount of makeup, oil, and dirt without being stripping or irritating in the least.. I’m so glad you love it too, Robert. ❤️❤️❤️

I also noticed that using micellar water before applying a prescription like epiduo (benzoyl peroxide+ Adapalene) isn't a good Idea. I don't know if it's because removing makeup with it is a bit more drying & irritating than oilcleansers or if it's due to some of the surfactants remaining on the skin & makeing some sort of a reaction. I tried cutting on some time while traveling & it was a huuugeee mistake 😅

IDK if it's the same recommendation, but my Cleo-T actually recommends to apply to face when slightly dampened from a toner 🤷‍♀️

I love Bioderma, another one I use constantly for lazy cleansing is the one for TonyMoly! I can't recommend the two enough. The TonyMoly one also has helped with my small breakouts and hormone breakouts. My skin always feels great when I used it.

I bought them for the first time in france because i happened to be in france and it’s cheaper there (obviously lmao). I also got myself Avene and LRP. Other than that, i have tried garnier and probably nivea as well. Gosh, Bioderma is the goat when it comes to micellar water. I’m never using other brands!

I have seborrheic dermatitis and the Garnier one is the only thing I can put on my face without causing a rash, I tried the Bioderma one to compare and it did take off my makeup easier but it stung so bad and left my skin so dry. I like how the Garnier one is more slick and then I top it off with CeraVe moisturizing cream. I’m not complaining cause the Garnier one is significantly cheaper!

Bioderma is the GOAT! My personal fave is the Hydrobio line (blue lid), it's perfect for my rosacea sensitive and thirsty skin. It's also great for those low days when I don't have energy to do skincare. Garnier doesn't even remove eye makeup, it's just crap.

I have been using Garnier for a few years and never stung on my eyes, but let me say that I not sensitive to anything, thankfully. Garnier has worked wonderfully for me and even during the winter months, when my skin gets quite dry (even while living in a tropical island) doesn’t get my skin dryer than what is supposed to be. I use the pink one for daily use (and for before my skincare routine before bed) and the blue one when I wear heavy makeup… I even removed my hair dye stains with it hahaha

oil cleaners work so much better and require no scratchy cotton rounds! Use dry hands to massage oil into full face and eyes then add water to lather and rinse. Done, no rubbing or friction that ages the eyes 🥰

Where I am (midwest US; city with population of one million people) I can't find Bioderma anywhere, either, and if I'm going to shop online, I'm getting a quality K- or J-beauty cleansing water rather than something like Bioderma! I've tried the water that Robert mentions as well as the Bioderma Hydrabio water, and both left me feeling a bit...greasy. Even though I use cleansing water strictly as a pre-cleanse--I never leave it on, and I always do a second cleanse--I still don't want a cleansing water that leaves me feeling less than clean. The Bioderma waters almost left the feeling on my skin of having just applied a dry oil! To be honest, I liked the few Garnier waters I've tried better than the Bioderma waters...different strokes for different folks 😋👋

I normally use the vitamin C garnier micellar water, works great for me. It stings my eyes when it gets in there but otherwise it works just fine and doesn’t irritate my skin or leave it dry. I suppose it just a matter of skin type rather than brand.

I use Garnier with the light/white Top with Rose-Water and the other One with the pink-red Top. I doesn't feel a real Difference.
But If your Expierience is like as you said I will change my Micellar Water , too!
Normally I do the 2 Steps Cleansing, Micellar I use only If I doesn't wear anything, only Moisturizer and SPF. And it works till now excellent.
But If Bioderma is' better and more mild ....i will change to it!

Omg thank you for doing this short, I use the garnier one and it sometimes burns my eyes also, they would get red and it dries up my skin if I use enough of it to remove all of my makeup, I deff gotta check out that other brand because I have combo skin with more dry areas than oily ones so I need something that won’t cause it to get drier than it already tends to get

I found Thayer's witch hazel works even better than the micellar waters! It actually cleared my skin & moisturized my dry spots?!?! It was an accident so I used the witch hazel face spray on a wipe to remove my makeup until my cleaner came in.... I will now never use anything else. I don't know what's in that stuff, but Thayer's witch hazel face spray reduced my under eye puffiness more than any eye cream?!?! It's beyond ridic, and again I don't know how or why but give it a try, it's a miracle.

Agreed! I was on the same Garnier MW train for, like, ever. Then I finally said ef it, I will spend the FEW Xtra bucks on Bioderma. And there has been no looking back. No amount of coupons Garnier can send me will are worth the price of happier, healthier skin with Bioderma.

100% agree :) The Garnier one is not bad at all but I also think that Bioderma is a lot softer around the eyes and my skin doesn't feel tight at all afterwards. A tip for people who live in Germany: Bioderma is pretty expensive in Germany so I order mine from a french pharmacy since it is cheaper in France :) (I order from cocooncenter but I am sure there are many more)
