- The Z-Man LarvaZ is an eye catcher for sure. The design of this lure is awesome. It looks like a gnarly bug with a tail that should produce a lot of action in the water. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed with the results. I managed to catch some fish on it, but I thought I'd do better. Hopefully, if I give this lure another chance at some point things will be different.

Some nice bass and cichlids. I think you may be right about the tail impacting the hookup ratio. Give it another shot one day when the bluegill are present. They tend to inhale those. I was using a size 12 hook, though. Not sure how much difference that makes. Excellent video, my friend!
Use Mule jigs, they have a little keeper on them that keeps the plastic from sliding down.
Does that tear up the plastic? One of the main reasons I use these jigheads is because they don't have the keeper and the plastics last longer.
@@TheFishingNomad Some plastic it does and some plastic it doesn't, you have to try different kinds... but for the Z-man stuff, it definitely doesn't tear those up.
How do you like that St. Croix Avid ?
