It has been quite some time since I have watched one of your videos, but this one hit a home run. Nice job comparing the two chatter baits and giving a good example of their comparisons. Thank you, Gene.
I love the Elite Evo chatterbaits they are just as good as a Jackhammer but the new Tungsten Elite Evo chatterbaits are better than a Jackhammer! And I love Jackhammer chatterbaits but that Tungsten is the real deal and I found them on sale as soon as they came out for $11.69 each so I got all the colors I wanted and they are awesome, harder thump different sound and durable!
Just fished one the other day and honestly can't tell the difference. I even threw them in my pool to get a good visual and didn't notice a difference. I will definitely be buying more and saving some money.
That a nice evo I love Pier fishing 🎣 over her in California I always use long shank hooks for my soft plastic baits I wish this evo had a long shank hook it just makes it better hook up
@LEODrizzyfishing damn, that's spooky. So far, I love the Evo. But I fish heavy line, between 15 and 20 lb flouo, through heavy cover for giant Florida bass.
@@AdventurerAnthonythat’s pretty obvious, but the question was a comparison of the jackhammer or EVO. In my opinion the jackhammer comes with premium materials where I’ve never had an issue such as with two EVOs.
Just picked two up yesterday gotta wait for this ole man winter to go away here in the northeast but that’s what I’m hoping for that it can at least take over for the jackhammer mostly still going to throw my jackhammers they are actually what got me fishing chatterbaits constantly the original one idk I just had no confidence in it never got bit so I went with the hype and right away started catching and it’s been a down hill for my pockets lol I’m glad to see they kept my favorite color but just changed the name to hot snakes the one you were holding in jackhammer it’s b-hite delight but I’ll have to see how the gold blade does I don’t have much success with gold in my area
I paid $ 14.99 at the Toronto Fishing Show from Pro J The only place that I have found them ( Evo ) I know a place that sells Jacks for $ 36.99 . Canada is going to hell in a hurry
what I found funny to me two summers ago is I bought jackhammer, thunder cricket & click bait & at first I didn't get bit on any of them. but I kept fishing the jackhammer and got bit and that all I throw but seeing that zman made a cheaper version I had to grab me a few. I still have one thunder cricket left. and I junked the clickbait all together 😂.. thank for all your vids i've learned alot from keep it with all the great content..
It could be because of the chatterspike trailer, but the acrion when i rip them are better than anything I've seen. Insanely erratic. It gets a 10/10 from me.
Never thrown a jackhammer, probably won’t toss an evo either. (Pray for good sales on both) The amount of chatterbaits swiped by chain pickerel every season is infuriating. Can’t fathom giving them $15 or $10 face jewelry. 😂
@@JamFlexx ugh that's the worst! line break, or leader knot failure? - I just picked up an EVO over the weekend at a slight show discount. We'll see how long it lasts come spring. I'm sure it feels out of place with all the inexpensive chatterbait originals and customs in the box haha.
Glad to see you putting out more content. You taught me everything I know and you are by far my favorite pro fisherman.
Awesome! Thank you!
Ditto

I have 3 Evos. The 1 you showed(Hot Snakes,) a white one, and a green pumpkin one.
Love them.

I definitely like the color selection of the EVO.
Informative video on the evo , enjoy watching your videos and thank you. What kind of baits and colors do you use also. Thank you for your time.
The eco need to compete with the jack hammers colors that alone is why I’m sticking with the jack hammer
Great job with the comparison. Ive been wanting to go get some. Now I will. Thank you.
Gene this was cool. Thank you!

What you were doing trolling the recreational boaters do on a public lake near me. I love when they throw a wake I feel like it forces a reaction.
Yep. I cast behind boats all the time. I’ve caught some giants doing it.
Looking forward to some more on the water testing of the pwr 129!
I’ve had two separate Evo’s line snaps pull open after catching 3lbers. Sticking with the OG jackhammer and Slobberknockers
Really? What line where you fishing them on?
One was 16lb Sunline Sniper and another was on 17lb Tatsu. Hasn’t happened with either the Jackhammer or Slobberknocker
@LEODrizzyfishing damn, that's spooky. So far, I love the Evo. But I fish heavy line, between 15 and 20 lb flouo, through heavy cover for giant Florida bass.
Upgrade the snaps then

Thanks for tips and making the videos!
Good video, thanks for your review 👍
Try the z-man hellraiser. Definitely a versatile bait.

Jackhammers are $28 in Canada and I picked up an Evo today for $10.99, game changer 🎉

We’ll it’s safe to say I will be buy the new chatter bait this was the tie breaker lol. Everything I needed to know thanks buddy 🤙🏼

Nice. I'm going to have to play with these around lilly pads. Thanks
Have fun!

I eventually bend all my jackhammer hook skipping docks. Is the EVO hook less likely to bend in your opinion or about the same?
Probably the same. Thats a lot of force to put on a hook.
Sold Gene! 👍
I’ve used it in the later part of last year and had good success with it. It’s dead even on whether the Evo is better than the jackhammer.
so it also starts to chatter as fast as a jack hammer?
Awesome
Can someone explain to me the difference in the plain ol Zman Chatterbait and the Jackhammer that can justify the big price difference? Ty
Upgraded hook, blade, line clip, and better head shape that gives it more sound.
JackHammer thumps more right?
What’s your chatter bait set up
7.3:1 reel and a 7’4” Medium Heavy Moderate rod
EVO tungsten are best. At least that what I have results are. I bought some tungsten Jackhammer are better than lead ones.
Same here
You the man bro
Enough said
If you think those tiny fins on the head is gonna keep it from rolling, I got a bridge to sell you.

refuse to pay 15 for a hammer. Found half price at convention, and sucker flew off first cast 😢

Only difference i can tell is the Evo, every now and then, will glide and not start up instantly like the jackhammer
Save your money. A Decoy #2 snap will make an original chatterbait into a Jackhammer.
How??
Bama bream
No what gets me is lead and a hook an a metal piece cost you $15 an up that’s crazy
Not really, no. 😁
"I've won thooouuusands of dollars on the Jackhammer". 🙄
