You are so pretty! Thank you for the tips,, I have realized this just now and wish I knew this earlier. Do you think it’s safe to not wear sunscreen then?
Thank you. I am not a fan of wearing sunscreen regularly, Most sunscreens contain ingredients that are not good for your skin like avobenzone and other dangerous chemicals. Also, getting 20 minutes daily or so of sunlight is very beneficial for your skin. The problem arises with the consumption of seed oils (canola, sunflower, peanut, etc), as these oils make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Give up seed oils and you'll find that your skin will rarely (if ever) burn and you'll find that it gets healthier and more youthful too!
I dealt with moderate to severe rosacea for 10+ years and have used various techniques and products. Only until I became so frustrated with sensitive itchy skin did I quit washing my face. Instead I rubbed my face (as you did in the video) then rinsing my face with water or occasionally water mixed with ACV did my skin showed signs of healing.
So often sensitive skin is a result of too many products/ too much exfoliation so the best treatment is to let the skin heal. I'm so glad that you realized that!
It'll be different for each person. The more meats with connective tissue like Chuck Roast or things like that, the faster it will repair. The less protein and animal based fats that you eat, the longer it will take.
I'm struggling with acne for ten years I started to wash my face with water only 2 weeks ago .I will definitely use your massage technique. Any recommendations on sun blocks and how to remove it .Also moisturizer
I like using the Jane Iredale Magic Mitt to remove makeup or sunscreen. I don't have the best suggestions for sunscreens, but I always recommend only using a Zinc Oxide or Titanium Oxide based sunscreen because they are barriers instead of chemicals. I like Lira's sunscreens the best although they aren't totally green. Also Sanitas has a sunscreen called Solar Block that I like.
I would try using facial massage instead of oils. Facial massage will release your skin's natural moisture and hydration. Oils will often create disharmony in your skin because it doesn't replicate your skin's own oil content.
I started this experiment a 3wks ago, I only use diluted ACV(with the mother) to clean my face then afterwards apply my usual rice serum and rice cream.... all the pimples I had disappeared, The T zone is less oiler( i have combination skin) and the post pimples spots are also fading away, my face feels plumpier than ever. I have never been this happy about my face😇
I just want to say that because of your video I ordered the book “Skin Sobering: 99% of Products Age and Harm Your Skin by Dr. Erin Tjam and Dr. Utsugi who was already a best seller for skin fasting. In summary they affirm what you say, but also they warn us about the danger of skin products not only they don’t work but they are damaging the skin. So I started with skin sobering when I first saw your video and along with the massages it was amazing, however in the book says we don’t need and should not massage or rub the skin -ever- and I stopped, just to find out that I break a lot in my chin (pimples) So now I’m a little confused and I would love your thoughts on this book if you have a chance to read it or if you already read it I’d love to know what you think and thank you again for this video, it changed the game for me. Also if the massages are good… how often? Once a day every day? Greetings. ❤

Maybe i stop to early because my skin needs more time to recover itself..whats your experience? Maybe i go back please tell me yours?
@ Hi Linda. Maybe you should read the book, as it explains the symptoms of the first two or three months. What you feel is normal and is simply a reflection of the damage from the products without the mask, as they just do that. I know it works, I've been doing skin sobering it for two months now and my skin is getting better and better every day. My question and doubts were related to the massages to keep the lymph active, but saying goodbye to skin care is real on my part and I'm super fine with it 💕just water for my face 💦

Facial massage is not bad for your skin. It's great for increasing your own natural oil production, decreasing fascial adhesions and improving lymph flow. I would aim to do them once a day but you can do them twice a day, if you want. They will not hurt your skin!
Thank you so much. I used to have acne. A lot. I am left with deep scars :( But what's even worse is that my skin is very uneven, flaky, dry and oily at the same time, big pores...Horrible...I used to wash my face A LOT. I have stopped using traditional shampoos and conditioners and also wash my hair a lot less than I used to. Currently I used two eggs to wash my hair usually once a week. I rinse it with 1/4 vinegar and 3/4 water. The less I wash my hair, the less it feels like it needs it.

I know that it's super scary to think about, but I would stop all products for now. If you can't massage your face, then really focus on massaging your chest and neck to get lymph flowing. Lymph is the way that your body cleans your skin from the inside out. It removes toxins and inflammation so that your skin can heal. If you have a Magic Wand, I would circle the perimeter of the acne wherever you can for the same reason of improving lymph flow. Circling the ears activates lymphatic drainage through the face and neck. Additionally, increase your intake of saturated fat and cholesterol. This seems crazy, but your body makes all of it's hormones from fat. Eggs, butter, red meat are important for balancing the hormones. You'll want to eliminate all seed oils - canola, sunflower, safflower, peanut, vegetable, soybean. These disrupt your hormones and metabolism. Best of luck to you. Please keep me updated!
@viktore1375 Sometimes the truth is crazier than fiction. I wish everyone with acne would quit washing their face start eat exactly the opposite of the food pyramid.
@viktore1375 Doesn't surprise me. I don't think milk or dairy products are nearly as villainous as they've been made out to be. It's the grains, seed oils and processed foods that cause most of the issues.
Every time I stop washing my face and only use water my skin gets much better. Soaps and moisturizers are giving me so much problems, whether they are dryness, redness, or bumps. Going back to simple.

@@rhythmicstu Yes, I think a moisturizer is more effective for moisture then rubbing the face. It just doesnt make sense.. But maybe the bloodcirculation can be nice. Is it possible to use flours to clean the face without using surfactants? this could also be another alternative to water alone! The flours absorb dirt and eliminate only what is necessary and rubbing with a towel or massaging the face with the hands is a little aggressive in the long run. I would be very happy to know what you think, thanks for an answer if necessary.
Massaging loosens up tight fascia, breaks up glycation and improves circulation. Flour would just bind with oil but it would leave residue on the face. Most flours have been desiccated (dried) with glyphosate prior to harvest so it is not something I would use on my skin (or eat).
Retinols will thin your skin over time. At first it will appear as if your skin is tighter but if you use them regularly they will age your skin. They also make your skin more sensitive to the sun. I would recommend eating foods high in Vitamin A instead.
You are right. I have been washing my face it’s only water and then taking my fingertips and massaging my face in circles and down strokes since yesterday and it was like a whole avalanche fell off of my face. I didn’t even bother putting on moisturizer.
I don't use any products on my face. I have in the past, but now i've only let water rinse my face in the shower. Yet i still get some minor acne. My question would be: Should i only let water touch my face a few times a week? I see people saying only to use water and was once a day. but i think its still causing me harm. What should i do?
Yes! I would focus on massaging the neck for lymphatic drainage and doing facial reflexology over the cheeks to improve lymphatic flow which cleans from the inside out. For your question about sunscreen, you can use a microfiber cloth to remove it. I wouldn't use sunscreen unless you're going to be in the direct sun for longer than 20 minutes. Your skin needs the sun! Just be sure to cut out all seed oils (canola, sunflower, safflower, corn, vegetable, etc) because those oils make your skin more sensitive to the sun (and also increase skin cancer rates).

What if my skin is oily already? Should i still be using no cleanser? Not even once a day? My skin is red, open pores, uneven skin tone, perioral dermatitis on chin but mild one, blackheads on nose and each time i use any moisturiser, i get rashed or hives on face but they disappear in 1 to 2 hours max. Even sunscreen doeant suit me. Please guide
Yes! Often times your skin will produce oil in response to dryness, especially if your skin is red and irritated. It may take a few days for the oil to calm down. It's very common for oily skin to be very sensitive skin. Also, increasing animal based fats like red meat and butter will help regulate your hormones and calm the skin. Cholesterol is the building block for all of your sex hormones like estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. Animal based fats are also rich in vitamin A, D, E and K. Vitamins A and E are excellent for the skin!
@@IAmYouPk Yes, if you're not eating any animal based fats now, it's very likely that eating them will have a very powerful, positive effect on your skin.

@@IAmYouPk puffiness around the eyes is a kidney deficiency. Yes, eating meat, butter and low sugar yogurt will be great. Your kidneys get depleted with carbohydrates, sugar and highly processed foods. They heal with good sources of protein and fat and lots of rest. Do any of my kidney videos or my video for dark circles/ puffiness around the eyes.
Could you give me some advice please? My skin has become really irritated, sensitive and developed a lot of skin conditions like perioral dermatitis, sebhorreic dermatitis etc from using too many skincare products over time. Would this routine be okay to do day to day? Morning - just wipe with a bit of water or slight rinse in the shower. Night - facial massage, exercise, rinse face in the shower to get off initial sweat, then use a clean microfibre in gentle circular motions. Thats it. Would this be okay? And then in winter, do you have any recommendations for a moisturiser maybe just to protect skin from getting too dry? Let me know, thank you :)
Your routine sounds good! The less products that you use and the more circulation (massage) that you give your skin, the faster it will heal. Facial Reflexology is especially helpful because it breaks up fascial adhesions below the surface of the skin which makes the skin more hydrated. Also eating foods high in fat and protein, especially meat and eggs will help your skin heal.

I actually don't think you need to use anything on your face except regular massage. Your skin will produce all the oil you need. I do think tallow/ animal based fats are super healthy in your diet and will drastically improve your skin health. They are rich in Vitamins A, D, E and K.

I have very big pores and Im cutting down products, I do honey turmeric chicpea flour masks several times a week and washing with cold water. I also use cosrx glycolic acid toner and my pores are starting to shrink , its hard to give up everything. In my past I tried caveman regimen 1 month atleast and nothing happened. Now I take some supplements to regulate that and minimal skin care and I am quite smooth finally

If you're massaging your skin, you shouldn't need moisturizer because the skin will produce it's own natural oils. If you've been using moisturizers or oil for awhile, it'll take a few days for your skin to balance.

It can take a little bit for it to adjust. I highly recommend facial massage to ease the transition. It'll help your skin produce its own oil by releasing tension and connective tissue adhesions.
Thank you. Unfortunately, I’m also using tretinoin and massaging around my eyes is too much. They’re burning, red and flaking bad right now. I gave in and used some moisturizer just around my eyes because I have to be social this weekend

YES! Such a great and understandable explanation of the importance of lymphatics and fascia, and how to work them at home. I’ve been making use of massage techniques with my clients and stepping away from extractions more and more. Glowing skin, well functioning skin, parasympathetic nervous system engaged for the long term win 🥰

Hi, do you wash your face with water every day? Or not. ;)
I need more infoo
Second day of doing absolutely nothing, I work in fast food, I worked last night. Went to sleep without washing my face at all with anything. Not even water. Face felt greasy, but I woke up and it looks even better now.
Glad to hear it! It may be worth rinsing your face with water after working just to get off any fryer oils/ seed oils.
How is ur skin now ???
Should we use a washcloth?
Sorry I meant I have used only lukewarm water morning and evening since Oct 2018
@@JackieVanRuler I think that this might be the same situation for me! I’m going go try this for a month.
I have some acne & acne marks can i massage & How much time will it take to work?
It'll be different for each person. The more meats with connective tissue like Chuck Roast or things like that, the faster it will repair. The less protein and animal based fats that you eat, the longer it will take.
I'm struggling with acne for ten years
I started to wash my face with water only 2 weeks ago .I will definitely use your massage technique.
A useful tip thats working for me is avoiding tap (hard) water for my face and using distilled water instead.

I would try using facial massage instead of oils. Facial massage will release your skin's natural moisture and hydration. Oils will often create disharmony in your skin because it doesn't replicate your skin's own oil content.

@ Hi Linda. Maybe you should read the book, as it explains the symptoms of the first two or three months. Facial massage is not bad for your skin. It's great for increasing your own natural oil production, decreasing fascial adhesions and improving lymph flow. I would aim to do them once a day but you can do them twice a day, if you want. They will not hurt your skin!
How does that massaging not irritate the skin?
Thank you so much. I used to have acne. A lot. Basically, I have ALL the skin problems existing on this planet :( I came to the conclusion that I NEED TO STOP using ALL the products and washing my face. I am so tired of trying to fix my skin in order to feel better about myself. I will see what not washing my face will do to my skin :( I am tired of suffering. Nothing works. how is your take on hair, do you not wash your scalp either?

@viktore1375 who would've thought that a saturated fat/ cholesterol deficiency would be the cause? It happens a lot!

Thank you so much!
Should people not use retinols ?
Retinols will thin your skin over time. At first it will appear as if your skin is tighter but if you use them regularly they will age your skin. They also make your skin more sensitive to the sun. I would recommend eating foods high in Vitamin A instead.
You are right. I have been washing my face it’s only water and then taking my fingertips and massaging my face in circles and down strokes since yesterday and it was like a whole avalanche fell off of my face. I didn’t even bother putting on moisturizer.
It's truly amazing how your skin really has everything it needs! Thank you for sharing!
I don't use any products on my face. I have in the past, but now i've only let water rinse my face in the shower. Yet i still get some minor acne. My question would be: Should i only let water touch my face a few times a week? I see people saying only to use water and was once a day. but i think its still causing me harm. What should i do?
Does this work for rosacea prone skin? I have very reactive skin, so that's why I'm very interested in not using cleansers.
Do you use sunscreen at all?

@@JackieVanRuler Are you saying I should start eating animal based fats?

Wash your face with lukewarm water and a face cloth. Also steam your face once a week.
I have very oily skin, I think it's because of my too high testosterone level , sticky sebum plugs, a lot of withead texture all over face. Now I take some supplements to regulate that and minimal skin care and I am quite smooth finally
Which supplements do you take?

@@JackieVanRulermam I have lots of acne how should I do facial exercises?😢
@@shubhangiiyer1654 if you can massage your face without pain or discomfort, then yes. If it hurts, then be gentle and do what you can with a focus on the chest and neck to activate lymph flow.
Okay I will try it out😊 so I only wash my face in the evening with water? Or should I completely stop washing my face? And if I understand it right, no moisture at all?
I recommend using the Jane Iredale Magic Mitt. It removes makeup and is gentle on the skin
@@JackieVanRuler thank you
I don't think it's a great idea I think stop using cleanser and wash only with water😊
The day I stopped washing my face was the day I had started my journey of clear skin😊
Love it!!! Less is best.
Hii how is it going now because i only wash with water and its getting worse been a month now
@@bentebehet5389 are you massaging your skin? You need to create movement to allow for lymph drainage and detoxification.
Hello how can I contact you?
my email address is mindbodybeautyinstitute@yahoo.com
How can i massage my skin when i have acne
Start by massaging your neck and upper chest to promote lymphatic drainage. I would use the Magic Wand to circle acne lesions as close as you can without too much discomfort.
Heyyy I stopped washing my face .. everything went good skin became better then one day while massaging I did heavy massaging which actually damaged my skin .. my skin was over exfoliated... And daily I used to get broken dead skin covering my face ...and redness with rashes.....
Then I started washing my face with face wash then all those rashes went away what's the reason I m not able to understand from this experience that face wash is good or not????
Becoz I was daily getting that dry flaky skin on my face... But once I started face wash again all those flaky skin just went away .. plz guide me 😃
Depends on ur face wash if it's gentle it will not harm😊and depends on skin type also😊
You just gave the answer yourself. Use your brain
What do you think about dry brushing the face?
Any type of massage is great as long as it's fairly gentle.
I used never wash my face so my face would get really oily and now I have acne....
Are you massaging your skin? Make sure to work the lymphatic areas on the neck, under the chin and on the shoulders to internally clean your skin.
How am I suppose to wash my face only with water on days when I wash my oiled hair ,the oil tends to spread on the face and face becomes oily ,Do I need to still use the water in that case .or do you suggest using something?
I'm not a dermatologist, but the only thing I can use that does not cause me issues when my hair oils act up or I need to remove makeup is the pink Garnier micellar water. also bc the water where I live is hard
I usually don’t use any cleanser but lately I was thinking to buy one until I watched your video and changed my mind thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
Not washing also includes water right?! Bc I have the feeling that even only water makes my skin more oily and gets me "fungal acne" on my forehead...
Water shouldn’t cause fungal acne. More severe acne is truly internally caused I believe as someone who struggles with cystic acne.
@@samantharosejohnson Severe acne can also be a sign of a damage of skin barrier, people with acne tend to use harsh products that strip away moisture from the skin.
@@samantharosejohnsonI think hard water also responsible 😢
So should i stop using moisturizer?
I wouldn’t if you have dry skin personally
Thank you . 🙏
Whats ur age?
Hey Jackie! I came across your video last night and it was exactly what I needed to hear. I have struggled with my skin for years and years and am just now realizing it’s because my skin seems to hate any product I use on it. Would you suggest washing with water once or twice a day? Also would you recommenced using any oils or anything else on it afterwards? I’m extremely interested in learning more about your techniques. I would love a video on your opinion on diet and skin health. Thank you so much!
Hi Jennifer!
Sorry for the late reply. I usually rinse my face with water when I take a shower and that's about it. Then I use massage techniques with my hands or facial massage tools like Gua Sha to work the fascia and the lymph. I do use a facial oil sometimes but just a few drops is all I need after massage.
I will put the diet and skin health on my list. You may be surprised to hear my opinions.......
Jackie Van Ruler thank you for the reply! Also do you wear anything for sun protection?
@@jenniferfriedman8138 I do wear sunscreen when I will be out in the sun for longer than 20 minutes. Otherwise, I want the Vitamin D. I use sunscreens that have a Zinc Oxide base, Sanitas Solar Block is a good one. I also love Lira's sunscreen even though it's not as clean as I'd like. Chemical sunscreens scare me! I would like to do more research on facial oils and their level of sun protection.
The best thing that you can do is keep the barrier layer of your skin healthy. The thicker it is, the less UV rays get through. Most people want to exfoliate and over clean the skin and that just thins it and removes the protective functioning of the skin.
@@JackieVanRuler hello what soap do you use to wash your body? Thanks
I would LOvE to talk to you. I destroyed my moisture barrier and I have t been able to recover. I tried ceramide products and hydrating toner etc. unfortunately it seemed like it was working until it wasn’t. Right now I currently have the worse rash on my face I’ve ever experienced and it’s so itchy. I stopped all my products and just started using some aloe Vera and natural herbal infused oils like calendula to help with inflammation and healing. I’ve been waking up itching my face because it gets so itchy! I want to cry I have no idea what to do.
Itchy skin is so annoying! I would like to talk to you as well, so email me? jackie@jackievanruler.com
Any update
@@self_lovecare I ended up having contact dermatitis. I no longer wash my face or use products for the most part. I've started doing reflexology and guasha by suggestion from Jackie and my skin is much better. I actually notice if I slack on these two things my skin starts looking more blotchy and doesn't produce oils easily. I do use a light moisturizer every few days because I just have dry skin and no matter what massages I do it doesn't fully help. But my skin is so much better.
@@chelseyummali will it work if I don't use any products not even water
@@self_lovecare I do use a soft wash cloth and water but I didn't for a while.
