In my mid 30s, plagued by severe cystic acne all over my trunk since I was 8-9 years old. I had tried literally everything. Creams, soaps, every ingredient, supplements, vitamins, accutane, elimination diets, I've stumped dermatologist after dermatologist. Basically ruined my lifez like I was cursed. One day came across an article about not using soap and decided, might as well try why the hell not? 1.5 years later, soap has not touched any part of my body except my hands, and my skin is better than I can ever remember. Not perfect, but by far out of the hundred regimens I've tried over 20+ years, this is the best. I've found that 2 showers a day, with warm water, just scrubbing over my whole body with the palms of my hands works best. Skip days of showering and l start developing cysts again. So bathing is still important, but clearly, soap was fundamentally contributing to my condition.
I'm 50. I started skipping the soap and between that and no sugars/starches my skin looks decades younger. You are both stunning and brave to question 'the medical establishment' at such a young age rather than be part of off license drug experiments and chemical interventions. Smart too with a scientific mindset modifying one variable at a time!
@mariaaa there is a fairly strong correlation between sunscreen use and overall deaths including cancers. That is the people that use little or no sunscreen live the longest the people who use the most die the youngest. But this is only a correlation not a causation it may be from the sunscreen it may be from the lack of UVB vitamin D creating radiation. Sunscreen doesn't work it's still allows the UVA very damaging radiation to get through, nothing stops it. So sunscreen only blocks you from getting the tan (UVB) that protects you from the UVA. Typical product designed to keep you dependent upon it by never allowing you to build up a base tan which will protect you from real sun damage.
Hey I’m really thankful that I found this video because I want to try out this, i’ve been struggling with acne for a long time and used many product and nothing is working. I just want to know did you moisturise your skin or just wash with only water?
This video is exactly what I was looking for! You've gained a subscriber 💯 Also, what do you do if you're sweating? How you get rid of the gym after- smell?
Aw thank you! 😊 Post gym/ an outside workout I'll wash my body with natural soap. I still try and avoid my face if I can - but if I've used sunscreen I'll definitely scrub it with natural soap. I generally find though just rubbing my body with water and my hands works well, and then once or twice a week I'll use a loofah to really get all the excess skin etc 😊
Hi, thanks for sharing :) How do you clean your face from oil? Can you share how you clean your face everyday without using any soap/product? Do you wipe your face using face paper?
Water always! I will also lightly exfoliate to ensure I am removing the dead skin; I'm simply trying to avoid the chemicals. If I don't use water on my face, I don't feel clean or washed so I will always, at the very least, use water 😊
Also incorporate Norwex body and face rags they have a special natural silver in them that allows them to clean with only water 💦 and no soap and still feel and be clean as if you did there awesome
I stopped using soap 1 year ago. I want to stop using shampoo, but my dermatitis seborrheic really hold me back. The smell won't come off if I don't use shampoo :(
Aw I'm sorry to hear this! I wish you all the best 🦋 I still use shampoo as my hair very much struggled when I tried to go without it, but to each their own!
Sometimes! If i've exercised that day (which is most days) I'll use a bit of soap but when I'm washing my hair, soap collects on the floor anyway so I'm not super fussed :)
Sending love to you 🦋 I don't believe soap causes acne, but I really don't believe it helps. Natural, minimal ingredients is the way to go in my life and I hope you find something that works for you 😊
I use soap/ shampoo for my hair and on my body (on specific areas) if I have been sweating excessively. I shower once a day, sometimes twice if I have exercised in the morning 😊
I do both :) Currently I just use a normal plastic-y exfoliator (i hardly use it so it's lasting ages) but I'd love to get a more natural one - if you're looking I think they have someo on the website Package Free Shop :) And I do moisturise mostly in winter when my skin is really dry - I just use a natural moisturiser. Have a play with different natural ones and you'll find something that suits your skin the best :)
Hey Lewis 😊 I haven't had experience with rosacea personally, but from what I know about it, using minimal (natural) products and eating as cleanly as possible should hopefully help. Maybe it would be useful to continue to only use water to wash for the next few weeks, as well as eating a fairly clean diet to see if it has any effect? Before I continue, the only degree I have is in film so please take my advice with a grain of salt. To elaborate, by a 'clean diet' I mean cutting out refined sugar (but not fruit), eating more vegetables (cooked and uncooked) and making sure you're having enough healthy fats like nuts/ nut butter, seeds, avocado, oils (like coconut oil), fish/ salmon (if it's available to you) and generally avoiding packaged foods. Overall, it's really important to keep your diet balanced. So, in my opinion, it would be most beneficial to cut out refined sugars and packaged foods (especially the ones where you don't know/ can't understand all of the ingredients inside). I hope this helps! 😊
Hi Susylou 😊 I really like the "thankyou" brand but I generally am happy to try any organic soap. Bars are a great form of soap that I would totally recommend trying, I just didn't love them myself - but complete personal preference!
CAVEGIRL I see, thank you for your recommendations! 😊 I’ve been suffering from bacne as well & I’m hoping to see better results for my skin! Thanks to your inspiring video. Keep it up 🧡
Well i dont use soap on my face, just on my always dirty parts of the body haha, you know feet and those parts. First i notice my skin looked better, not dry an d more elastic. Then one day i was traveling and i was exposed to way too much sun. However i immediately noticed my faceskin was way more resistant to sunlight. What i mean is my skin got stronger (of course i must use sunscreen) but that day i forgot i figured out how good it is to let your skin just be what it is just cleaning it with warm water
How exciting! Hmm I'd say just try whatever you're more comfortable with first - and depending on where you live (aka a colder climate, you may want to continue the coconut oil!) I don't generally use moisturiser and I have been going no soap for so long that my skin has adjusted. But, in winter I do sometimes just use a super natural moisturiser and in summer I will use some fresh aloe vera every now and then 😊 Good luck!
I definitely agree with this - and through teenage years, it's very likely to develop more than normal, however I also really noticed that the chemicals I was putting on my body only worsened the issue. When I cut them out completely, I noticed a massive difference and I continue to only use more gentle, natural skincare.

@@lauren_hogg hopefully 😊 thank you so much 💝
Do you still use soap? And how often do you shower a week?
I use soap/ shampoo for my hair and on my body (on specific areas) if I have been sweating excessively. I shower once a day, sometimes twice if I have exercised in the morning 😊
Do you just use water?
I do! Unless I have something on my face like sunscreen, then I'll use some natural soap, i just rub those areas with my hands :)
Thank you for making this video. Do you exfoliate once in a while? What about moisturizer?

Spots eventually go anyway so no need to stop using soap. Soap doesn't cause spots.

Exactly after a while acne spots do eventually clear up, I won't happen over might, but it does.
What is alternative of soap???
