When people say “shouldn’t the government be the ones to do something?” - the answer is of course yes. But they’re not going to, at least not until we make the changes ourselves.
At this point, the scientific literature showing that we need to shift towards a plant-based food system has become overwhelming in both its volume and clarity. Even the government’s own scientific advisors are telling us that we need to reduce our animal product consumption. However, disturbingly, our elected officials are still refusing to take any action and have even spoken about increasing animal farming production instead.
The reality is, governments won’t implement the necessary changes required unless we make it seem politically acceptable. This means that we have to be the ones to make the changes ourselves as if we don’t, our agricultural system will continue to destroy our environment and cause suffering to billions of animals at the same time.

Ed you are sincerely doing the divine for our animals. I commend all who are part of this Vegan movement God bless you all 🙏
Earthling Ed and many people like him are doing so much hardwork for making this messed up world a better place, Has done and doing so much to stand against those corrupt, selfish, evil, holding powers and reduce suffering for the poor voiceless and innocents and ourselves AND this beautiful earth. and it's a big proof that all lives are connected. If you hurt somebody, the emotional distress and negative energy keeps moving forward and continues until the humane, and/or kind forgives and puts a stop. The suffering we have caused in this world has directly or indirectly has come back to us. Please don't be cruel if you can't be kind, you don't have to love somebody to not hurt them.
Lol he is a youtuber
@@rondarkman. I would say he is an activist who makes youtube videos, his involvement goes far beyond just making these videos.
It saddens me how small is the amount of EE subs. He is so eloquent, so argumentative and gentle to everyone. He is my fave vegan influencer and public person. His every sentence has a point that none of the omnivores can overrule. He's the best debater. So, it's so strange that there are not more plant based and vegan supporters who would subscribe.
Sorry but when your arguement is based on the belief that sheep amd chickens are people, you have lost the debate befofe it begins.
@@evilsotherbrother7481 You spout nonsense. Troll. He never said they are people
@@spiral-m he does all the time. Every single video he posts. They all do. Joey, Ed, that other little skank Tash. Every single one of them refers to livestock as people. This is virtue signalling its weak and stupid. The foundation of veganism. And virtue signalling destroys any chance of positive productive dialogue.
@@spiral-m regardless meat is delicious lmao
@@evilsotherbrother7481 cmon bro, you know better than this!! You can do it bro, I believe in you 💚💚
I love you so much! keep up the energy, we all have to work together to make change
Yet another reason to not trust the torries, like we were short on those!
Thank you Edd for all that you do for the Animals
Amazing video Ed, we are run by clowns and hypocrites 🤡
Same story here in Aotearoa-New Zealand. My question to you is, how do you keep hopeful, strong and so kind amongst all the overwhelming information.
New Zealand has great lamb and those bluff point oysters are divine
Thank you for doing what you’re doing. I wish we could all come together in an impactful way. Let us know if there’s anything we can do. ❤
Hi Ed, it looks like the future of Veganism in the UK is really f&)$*" up from the political side. This apply to all governments unfortunately. Let's keep working together to create more balance and eventually become a majority.💚
Sadly, humans don't have a great track record when it comes to adopting lifestyle changes on the basis of science and reason. However, we've seen time and again how technological developments can lead to huge cultural change. For this reason, I am cautiously optimistic that cell-based meat and dairy will spark the food revolution we, the animals, and the planet, so desperately need. Just as electric vehicles will soon make the internal combustion engine obsolete, when non-animal meat is cheaper, healthier, safer and tastes the same as animal flesh, it's game over for animal agriculture. Once that happens, culture around animal rights will drastically change, because people will no longer need to tie themselves in logical knots to justify their own hypocrisy.
Plant-based animal foods are as unhealthy as soda, beer, alcohol and junk food, full of sodium, sugars, fats, high amounts of calories and carbohydrates
Ed that was a brilliant watch and I'm immediately sharing the video, thank you as always.
The edits in this video are gold, subtle speckles of gold 💚💛🌱
My school doesnt offer great vegan options at lunch but thats gonna change when i bcome class president
No it won't
@@rondarkman. I ll try to get one option at least
@@aki-fi3gk
Ok that is fair enough ,I actually hope you do
@@rondarkman. Oh thanks man eventhough you re not vegan
Great video Ed, thank you.
10:10 Loved this statement. Ed is extremely polite and courteous but he's unapologetic and a total liberationist at the same time which I absolutely love.
Sharing this. Thank you Ed!!
Bump for the algorithm. Thanks Ed.
Yes the algorithm changed the world
@@pacmanmcgavin7034
It's the final desperation of the vegan to think the are doing something, yep kfc alone uses billions of chickens.
But that algorithm will change the tide.lol
Thanks for the insight Ed!
Sunak is as you say just a narcissist and a very greedy one at that. Can only hope Truss takes over for as short a period as possible until we eventually get someone selfless in power ready to take us forward a notch in evolution…. why do we never vote in or get the opportunity to vote in someone who is selfless?
Keep up the good work Ed, you help tide my sanity over 😊👍🏻 and of course keep winning minds over for all the right reasons!
Because the media is just as corrupt as the government and will spread lies and propaganda to make people hate any politician who challenges the status quo. And because people are generally brain dead sheep they'll do and think whatever the TV tells them
@@notme5744 strongly agree. The amount of friends and family that keep telling me just to go with the status quo and live an easy life 👎🏻
Would rather have a fair life for all than an easy one for me.
Giant douche vs Turd sandwich.
@@-Jay-001 yeah I feel that way when people tell me to worry about my own circumstances. Unless everyone is able to live a decent life, the status quo is going to bother me. As if having loads of money and turning my head the other way is a solution. it must be wonderful being ignorant
Great video! Thank you for pointing out the illogical hypocrisy of politicians.
Thank you for making this video,
as always, it is greatly appreciated!
EL VEGANISMO NO ES EL MEJOR CAMINO PARA LA VIDA ES EL UNICO PARA LA VIDA Y PARA NUESTRA ESPECIE.
I completely agree with your assessment. Thank you.
'Truss' definitely does not equate to 'Trust'! Truss as PM... OMG, this is a scary day for animals! 😥 Let's speak up for the voiceless. Vegan for Life! 😍xxx
Deep gratitude Ed, you really are a hero in my eyes. I'm certain you are far too humble and modest to ever fully accept and appreciate that statement, but if you can for a moment SOAK IT IN
Great video, Earthling Ed. The US has the exact same problem.
Which is sadly hilarious when you know that rishi comes from a Hinduist family and that his own grandmother is Jain and vegan.
@Question man I have a question for you, what veggies do you think we can grow here to replace the calories that we will need once we don't eat meat and dairy any more?
@Question man Oh Lol 😄, I really didn't get your sarcasm at the time , and my answer was a sarcastic question back to you. I think we're both on the same side, and have the same sense of quirky humour! I was hoping you were going to say soybeans and chickpeas.. possibly avocados even , but you're a clever person!
Ancient Hindus were meat eaters vegetarianism was tactfully injected in Hindu scriptures by Jain Stooges.
@@annieridesagain3262 Anything you eat gives you calories. You want calories, a lot of them, eat sugar .
@@kachi2782I have to eat a very low carbohydrate, (sugar,) diet or I just produce excessive insulin. Your pancreas only has a finite lifespan of producing this hormone, and then if it dies before you do, you are going to have to mess around taking shots and trying to work out how much you are going to need according to your daily exercise and what you eat that day. Some people are lucky enough to be able to eat much higher carb diets without the sugar and starch disrupting them so metabolically.
Heartfelt thanks Earthling Ed...great work!
Ed if you read this, have you ever considered promoting any of the veganism related European citizen initiatives on your channel? For instance there is one running right now called End The Slaughter Age but it is sadly only gaining very little traction. If you could promote this and get all your viewers from the EU to sign the petition (which will then be reviewed by the European commission, so it has meaningful impact unlike most online petitions), it would very much help the petition get to 1 million signatures. Please consider it!
Why couldn’t they come up with a plan to help farmers transition to plant-based production (for human consumption)? That shows support for farmers.
they already have google renee king=sonnen and her rancher transition program. she and her husband are former cattle ranchers turned vegan in texas, usa. if they can do it anyonecan. and must.
rowdy girl sanctuary is hers
Because you vegans don't have the power to dictate, so suck it up and just enjoy meat
I shudder at the two candidates for this government with two years left to go ,it doesn't surprise me that they are not listening to scientists about meat production but blithely go on looking out for themselves , in so many ways also the rising fuel etc etc , why on earth do we have these monied politicians, we should have scientists, people with actual brains run our country!
I am beyond outraged, disgusted, and even depressed. People, governments, politicians.... there are not enough that care to make change in time. I'll keep doing what I can. Thank you Ed for exposing these narcissists. WE HAVE PASSED THE TIPPING POINT. Wtf up world!
It doesn't matter on which side of the pond or isle you are, politicians suck!
how can we expect people who dont even see most of their own species as people to have respect for the lives and autonomy of others?
So, Britain can choose between 🤡 and 🤡?
You’re amazing, keep up the good work
Ed this needs to be shared far and wide. I will share as much as I can
Lol
In other words: Change always starts with you. Unless it’s about Veganism of course. No surprise there. Great video.
The world is a better place with your activism Ed ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
I got into a Reddit spat about this issue when the article in the guardian was first published. The view most people supported was that we as individuals shouldn’t have to do anything because large corporations aren’t doing anything.
It’s so pathetic to see so many people convince themselves they have no responsibility because they’re just a poor little powerless individual. That attitude really pisses me off.
Many people are so focussed on what they could lose and how it’s unfair on them personally, very few see that it’s an opportunity to do the right thing for animals and future generations of humans. It’s depressing and frustrating.
Danke!
Thanks Ed for all the truth and beauty you spread in the world. So refreshing to see someone like you in action.
Surprising, no. Disappointing as usual unfortunately, great video Ed.🌍🌱🧠
