Damn dude, you're a beast for these daily uploads. Huge fan, but don't hesitate to take a day off whenever if you need it. Too many youtubers push themselves with a crazy strict upload schedule
I completely concur. The quantity and quality of your videos are both top notch, and the combination is admirable; however, do not work yourself too hard creating a work schedule that is unsustainable or exhausting. Don't put your videos ahead of your well-being.
Thank you both - I really appreciate the concern and support. My aim is a minimum of 3 videos per week and no more than 72 hours between uploads but sometimes I do more especially if the channel's doing well or if I have videos prepared which may date quickly. The channel's income isn't huge but between the ad revenue and Patreon it helps afford me on average a day a week of focused working time to dedicate to the channel which is enough to do 3 average-length videos a week (I spend substantially more time than this of course but it's often time I'd be spending anyway). Oddly, slowing down wouldn't necessarily help as I'd lose the ad revenue which sustains the time I put into it and in many respect it's what I do to unwind from other work. The reason I didn't start a Patreon until a few months ago was because I needed to have a deep bank of stuff to draw on so I could take breaks. As it stands, I have four completed videos and eight more recorded which means that if I wanted to take a week off (or several) it wouldn't really notice on the channel - and actually I often do, for work, family, illness or just to take a break (e.g. I'm spending a lot time at the moment playing Torna). Equally, if things are going well I can up my output without it affecting my workload in the short-term. If it started to affect my wellbeing, I would definitely adjust the schedule and I know most people on here would be very supportive of that. Fortunately, it's not an issue for the time being and to be honest it's a great privilege to be able to spend the time on a niche little hobby like this. I appreciate your comments and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos!
@nintendoforecast Glad to hear you've got a good and healthy schedule. I hope you'll be able to grow your channel further to a point where speed isn't as necessary :)
@nintendoforecastWow, hearing this detailed schedule has made me respect your stuff even more, keep on going you're doing great! :) It's also been quite a bit inspirational, as i aspire to develop a healthy and consistent RUclips upload schedule of my own for my own hobby, thanks for the videos and motivation, you're someone to look up to in the Nintendo content creation community. Where so many seem to clickbait and produce content that's not well put together your stuff is often a breath of fresh air.
Honestly, with them seeming to loosen up a bit in regards to brand philosophy and what can be a Nintendo game, purchasing companies that are a bit different from them might not be a bad move. Its been shown in the past that even brands like Mario are much more malleable than one may think (what with Super Paper Mario existing), and with the gaming industry changing so rapidly cant hurt to have bases covered. To clarify they'd still have to be unique companies, not something like Ubisoft.
Interesting, yes. Looking into it, it's been stated that they do but also that they invested money which might not be quite the same thing. Nintendo doesn't confirm all its equity method affiliates but there was one unnamed affiliate in each of the financial years ending 2015, 2016 and 2017 so it doesn't seem like there was a change (unless it was a case of one out, one in). My hunch is that they provided funds rather than bought shares but I'll keep an eye out for more. Thanks!
Been watching your videos and just hit that subscribe button!!! Your videos and perspective are so fresh! So tired of the major nintendo channels coattailing each other. They're almost interchangeable. Stay golden and I look forward to your future content!
As always great video! Breathing new life into a company I've been interested in my whole life. Im curious in 5-10 years to see where these companies Nintendo bought will be and look like. Will there be more quality control? How much does Nintnedo owning them affect how they operate? Do they just let them all do their own thing? Really interested in that.
You know that kinda funny since if anything all of kadokawa dealing will be with the japanese side of sony aka aniplex and because the top brass of sony are idiots they actively stoke competition instead of cooperation between division causing intense dislike leading to outright insubordination like aniplex releasing game exclusively for the switch.
It was more of a repaying gesture, as a person there helped Nintendo get into the American market, so when the Seattle mariners was in a difficult situation where they may have to move locations, Nintendo bought a majority of them so they wouldn't have to move, Nintendo did later sell the majority of their shares in the Mariners, more then likely because wiiu situation, but they still own a little bit.
@@mario_kid_plays Not at all. Thank you for a history lesson. I would totally do the same if we were talking about something like Fire Emblem. So it's all good
I'm afraid I have to point out two things. A list that was supposed to be on screen was not, and that you have a serious positivity bias towards nintendo. I think that merging this aggressively may affect their future, and contradicts their philosophy. I think the positivity is valuable though.
So if I'm reading you right, minority shareholders haven't really had much of a say in Japanese companies besides investing and earning money (during good years) from the stakes they own? That it's only recently due to legal changes that they have an opportunity to make their voices heard? Have to say that casts a somewhat sinister light on Nintendo completely buying them out, but at least I have faith that if they do control the company they wouldn't just shortsightedly squeeze out bigger quarterly profits no matter what.
Given the goodwill that evidently was entailed in the original purchase, I don't think Nintendo are likely to be acting in bad faith even if the timing might be expedient for them.
With Xbox struggling, I hope Nintendo rights their biggest wrong and snags Rare, cleans house (restructuring) and *finally* makes more Donkey Kong, Banjo and more!!! Easily the biggest betrayal imo, Retro games are great but they are metroid people.
Not sure that'd work. Rare's current team is all in on Sea of Thieves and other online-based titles, so you'd probably prefer them to buy Playtonic, the team with some ex-Rare people who actually has some experience with platformers in recent times... and that would get you Yooka-Laylee, not Banjo. A lot of the people who did Banjo don't even seem to still be in the industry either way, so I doubt reclaiming the glory years will be as simple as "just buy the studio". Still have to do a lot of training new people, I'm afraid.
@@goranisacson2502 That company works in keeping the remnants of the old crew together, I would want them to retire yooka-laylee and go back to banjo if they were to work on a new game. It would be cool if there was a branch of playtonic that works only on Nintendo titles as another option, yooka and laylee are more of a minor/temporary IP than a flagship. There is always room for new blood, as long as there is a skeleton, then projects and goals can be fleshed out, Nintendo wants a good trusty crew that has proven their worth.

I'm curious how people would feel if Nintendo acquired the Danganronpa team.
