Indeed, midweek hiking is the best to keep away from crowds. More enjoyment taking in all those fantastic views without all the chatter of others. Wow, stones to walk on and no wet feet, that's a bonus for sure! Good decision to take in the beauty of the day. Have yourself a great week and maybe the gift of rain from America will miss you on Easter.

What a beautiful day Alan...great day for a walk maybe not so much for the drone though...I don't blame you for taking it right down...I wouldn't want to lose it in the winds...the rocks are lovely but not so much for walking...such a lovely place to be! Thanks for taking us along!

You were right about the wind Donna, it was far too strong for the drone, I did try but as soon as it went up, I brought it right back down again. I have waited and waited for years to get one, so I do not want to lose it on its second flight lol. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

The route you could see opposite leads to round hill.if you carry on to the old railway line and turn left steeply to the bottom of the valley and then follow the undulating path back to the car park. Roughly an 8 mile circular walk.

Awesome that you had the place to yourself. One of my favorite kinds of adventure. We get people passing us on the trail all the time too. LOL. We get big changes in the weather in the Spring as well. Sunny, then snow, ice, then melt, cold, hot, repeat. Crazy stuff. Snakes, no problem, just watch out for those cows. Haha. I almost lost my drone in the wind more than once. I got lucky. Nice hike. Beautiful views in a beautiful area. Heck yeah. Have a great day.

Magnificent views on top. Rock formations are always beautiful too. I didn’t like to hear about the Adders, seems like it would be too cold for a cold blooded snake. I think I would enjoy a plate of Fish and Chips from your country. Spring has arrived here in South Carolina and the days are great. I plan on getting my EBike out soon to start riding. Thanks again for sharing your great videos. Keep hiking.

Hi Alan, indeed. the weather is gorgeous and the winds was easy at first
It gave us pleasure to see you hike in this spring weather.
Ooops no thanks to snakes hahah. Actually, I encounter 2 black snakes this past weekend. I thought they are sunbathing, but I guess there was another purpose...We just watch out in low bushes and stay on the trails. I did enjoy the story about the destination and the historic Whinstones that are appealing. The panoramic view gives me goosebumps...wow. Sorry about not to be able to fly your drone. The safety comes first. haha You don't want to crash it against those large stones. Soon the mountains are covered with deep green, lively and vivid. I am very excited for your future films.
    Till then, stay safe.

I was surprised to hear of the adder that Emz saw, definitely don't want a bite from one of those. Interesting to hear how the historic Wainstones got the name. Hi Alan. Sretana and I are the same. We always decide where to go at the last minute but in the end the trip turns out great. It must have been interesting to run into a snake and a poisonous one at that. Here I can say that I have not come across any poisonous snakes (although, never know), and we have quite a few of them in Croatia. I know the drone and wind issues...they don't really like each other. Ugh, how many times have I had to force my drone to land due to strong winds. At that point the controller isn't very useful.😁 The views are so great. Cheers. Sretana and Zac.🖐😀🤗

Caught up with your adventures over the Easter weekend. Ooh a bench with a view, with could be better! Especially with that steep climb 🥵. I'm glad to see you enjoyed you day on my local stomping ground Alan. As I said on Instagram, my daughter and I were there the day before and the weather was very different. The path you pointed to at the beginning takes you up to Round Hill which is the highest point on the North York Moors. You are actually on a section of both The Cleveland Way and The Coast to Coast where you walked.
This section you are on, you are on the first of three Moor tops, is know locally as the three sisters. This takes you over to Lordstones Cafe. There is a low route back which gives a circular of just under eight miles. If ever you decide to come back and walk it and fancy a bit of company, I'd be blown away to walk with you. We would no doubt talk Metal. I'll even treat you to a growler at Petch's in Great Ayton.
    Brilliant video mate.
