- Thank you for checking out my video! Lots of of people In large groups this weekend! Weather was perfect overall. The Final 400 was a bit icy. May 23-25 2024
I apologize if this video offends anyone in anyway as that is not the intention! I appreciate all input!

I did this about 1 month ago. I too took the traverse... Seemed like a good idea, until you hit the icy areas, suuper dicey and exposed. I think this is where the first 2 perished several days after we did it.
Thanks for sharing your trip!
I can almost feel the fresh mountain air just by watching this. Amazing job on showcasing the beauty of nature! Nice one Michael.
Would be cool if you had any video of the traverse descent or from your 400 descent in previous years. Thanks for sharing and congrats
My other Whitney video shows the walk off descent briefly, in better conditions.
Great! Thank you for sharing!
Great video! Those views are absolutely stunning.
10:10 That is quite a deep snow drift. I did this in late Sept and the notch and nearly everything was clear of snow. That ledge without snow is about 6-7 feet high, as I remember, and was a struggle for me to get over. The walkover still had snow and a path, but it looked too steep. The 400 seemed safer and more interesting.
yessir! That's what caught me off guard when I got to the knotch, we had a bit of struggle the first time getting on it. But not this time!
Thanks for posting - I was curious how much snow was still up there. Hitting the regular whitney trail in August!
You were at the north fork trail sign at ~ 1145pm and reached before E-ledge in sunlight. Did you take a rest on the trail for a few hours in between, just curious.
Yes, didn't want to traverse E Ledges Solo in the Dark, although it probably would have been fine.
@@michaelechsner Better safe than sorry. I couldn’t do E-Ledge at dark for sure.
