I've been looking at buying a G27 now for a while and like you, I don't think clamping to the desk is good enough. I'm not a craftsman like you but you killed it with the wood work and have me thinking about ways to make my own station. Props to you.
I know it's been said before, but this looks a lot like a Ricmotec RS1 cockpit. But turned up to 11! I just bought the plans for the RS1 and I am TOTALLY modifying it to accommodate the adjustable wheel deck. Also gonna see if I can modify your pedal deck design to allow for further adjustment. INSANELY AWESOME BUILD my friend and, might I say, I am totally jelly of your workshop!!
now that is a homemade stand, not like the other videos with crappy ones found on youtube. Looks very expensive, i bet between 100-150 dollars but totally worth it, it came out amazing

I believe i got it from Summit racing. It's a cheap seat for a reason i was considering buying some for my car but after ordering that one ive realized you get what you pay for. For a sim that's a good seat

Lucky to have that girlfriend who inspired you to do the rig. Well done, it's a good job, simple yet sturdy and well finished. Great tooling at your shop, maybe you can make it more productive taking orders for similar base. How much would you charge for a dozen? But need to be enhanced, I will give you the details offline.

Only catch with this set up is when you wanna move it around it has to be taken apart to fit through the doors. I still haven't fully reassembled it since I moved.
Its a nice set up i too have g27,,and i planned on copying the rikmotech design,,but ive always wanted my PC built into my desk so i found myself Modding my desk,,so i have my g27 mounted on hinges plus the gear shifter and a handbrake i've made myself,,so they all swing up from the middle of desk

im a handy man myself. used to do electrical as well lol. should be very easy. best part is the sliding wheel base. i would of already built one but yea.... wasnt sure on the size i wanted. i built a hyperspin cab if youre familiar with that. it turned out bad ass!!
Great build, I would only change one step I would of got some primer had it tinted black or gray one coat of that and two coats of black none of the black would of soaked in..

I did research of a few different designs and kind of pieced them together to make exactly what i wanted. I basically just built cardboard templates of shapes, the rest was just done on the fly.
I wish I had access to all those tools. As of now, I only have the very basic stuff. Do you plan on releasing the designs or blueprints? I'm sure many people would be interested. This really is a fantastic build
Joseph Lim I would like to make a detailed video of the rig to show how it was built but I'm in the process of moving and haven't yet moved the rig to my house. It needs to be partially taken apart to fit through the doors. If i had to do it again i would make it slightly smaller. I will post a video when i get a chance to move it over here. You should reverse engineer one into a flatpack design and sell it. You could also sell the designs! Even if it's like $2 I'm sure there is a market for it!

No I don't sell plans, I just made this for myself. Shortly I will make a detailed video on the rig to show how I was able to design it. Ill do the best I can to make it easy to follow if someone wanted to build their own.
+Duan Dao There's 2 pieces of wood, the bottom one has grooves in it and the top one has bolts passing throught it and the bottom one which will then be locked in place with the nuts on the underneath of the bottom piece. That's what it seems like to me anyway ;) Edit: Actually you can see what I mean at the 13:45 mark.
take a look at 13:05 - 14:00. you get a clear shot of the base with the routed slots. the wheel mounting table sits on top of that with the bolts passing through the slots. i used a bolt and a larger wing nut so it's easy to lock into position.
David Norris I believe it's a 32" TV. of course any monitor or TV could be used. I may switch it out for a 50" I picked up not long ago. but it's not very high on the priority list

SenseiGhostly yep, made my templates first to get an idea of the size. Then started putting it all together. Honestly if i was to make another one i would change a few things. I'm happy with it overall but there is room for some improvements. Maybe one day I'll build another one.

I was looking at building something like this that will do both flight and driving. I like your idea being able to move the wheel back and forth I was thinking about making something where the driving pedals are upside down and the rudder pedals are on the bottom. Great work! I started my first (very crude) cockpit build using wood, too, but lacking your skills and tools the next one had to be full aluminum.

Tip, if you play any PC sims, having the monitor that much closer to the wheel, means you can set a more accurate FOV. Nice work.

Josh Lepley the sliding wheel base was because I couldn't decide myself of the dimensions. I may still build a new one one day. We will have to see

joe mama no chair, wheel, TV, stereo, just wood, screws, glue, carpet, paint was about 130

joe mama there are many avaiable to buy. I wanted to build it myself because it was cheaper than buying one.
Is this the Rs1 build? Or ur own?
Derrick Chambers this is my own build based from designs I had seen online. I started with cardboard and free hand drew the rough shapes then proceeded from there to finish the project

I was looking at building something like this that will do both flight and driving. I like your idea being able to move the wheel back and forth I was thinking about making something where the driving pedals are upside down and the rudder pedals are on the bottom.
