    Accurate, I want to start sampling from Vinyl. Can you recommend a mixer and turntable to a beginner? I'd like to learn scratching too. Thanks!

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  8 лет назад +2

      Hey! Thanks for watching!
      First.. Its all about budget when you want to start going vinyl. I love my 1210 but thats not a cheap machine so... For getting started I would reccomend a beginner to get a used "Numark TT-500" turntable. I actually had the TT-200 up until just some months ago and the TT-500 is better. Make sure to get a nice wax papper or a butter rug and youll be fine with a cheaper turntable. If you want to buy a new deck I wanna mention the Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB. That will be a bit more expensive but also gives you more options due to the usb connectivity.
      The mixer I use right now (DJ-Tech DIF-1s) is perfect for beginners! It can even work with timecode if you have the right soundcard if you want to go down that horrible road.
      It features a innofader and is a really straight forward 2 channel mixer. Super cheap, great fader, good build quality... Perfect.
      If you're looking for a used mixer. Make sure the fader has an adjustable curve and a replaceable fader

    nicely done.
    you record the scratch in maschine or other daw ?

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  8 лет назад +2

      In this case the scratch is actually recorded in Logic. I usually do it all in maschine but its easier to sync the audio with the video if I do it in Logic.

    I might wanna think about getting a MacBook Pro, a Universal Audio Apollo Twin audio interface and I might want to get Maschine as well. BTW, would it be possible to make a travel case to store it for a flight?

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  8 лет назад

      That sounds like a nice pack of stuff!
      Yeah, with a little diy i guess that could be done. I dont travel much but i fit all of my gear (except from the turntable and the speakers) in a backpack for live gigs. The MK2 controller is not really a huge device at all.

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  7 лет назад +1

      No, not really but I've run the software on a netbook from 2008. The software is really lightweight in itself but when you add plugins and stuff it can get a bit demanding.

      That comes in a free version with Maschine :)

    Is it possible to scratch a MP3/sample/sound already in your maschine software instead of having to need vinyls? Maybe with a blank vinyl?

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  8 лет назад +1

      There are a lot of ways to scratch mp3s or audiofiles in general using timecoded records and dedicated software.
      Maschine cant do it but "Traktor", "Serato scratch live" and "Virtual Dj" can do it.
      These softwares often require a special audio interface. A digital scratch setup like that normally works and (almost) feels really close to using real vinyl. I guess you could find a software to emulate scratching and use it as a plugin in Maschine but i wouldnt reccomend it.
      I personally prefer real records over timecode any day of the week.
      Thanks for watching

    • @jonathanfrias9982
      @jonathanfrias9982 8 лет назад

      +Accurate Beats How about scratching the MP3 with the program but while using a USB turntable to for a more natural/smoother sample/scratch. Instead of actual scratching a what's on a vinyl. Like a digital turntable or software that I can control with a real turntable/hardware. I have more tracks in my desktop that I can sample from rather than vinyls which is why I wish to find a solution.

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  8 лет назад

      +Jonathan Frias sure. I guess you could find a solution for that. Audio through USB works fine and as long as the software converts the timecode signal efficiantly it should work fine...
      This is not really my cup of tea, I love vinyl and I dont really know the latest technology avaliable for this kind of digital DJing.
      Good luck man, i hope you find something that works for you.
      If I wanted to go digital i would choose Serato over Traktor but thats just me.

    Push 2 or Machine studio? ... which one to buy !!! ?

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  8 лет назад +1

      In my opinion?
      Maschine!
      The only reason i see for buying Push 2 is if you are deep into the ableton live workflow and you wanna stick with that.
      If not... Get Maschine! Personally i like maschine MK2 better but maschine studio is a beast!
      Tje maschine software are getting new updates and will continue to do so for a long time, its the flagship product from a really reliable company (NI) and the quality of the hard- and software are just awsome.
      I reccomend maschine to everybody whos making beats or any type of groove based music.

      I get your honest opinion .. thanks ..
      I'm gonna go for Maschine ... Your tutorials are dope and nice ..
      Keep it coming .. Thanks a lot man ...
