Just bought an integral a rav vast drum. Your videos are without doubt the best! Thanks! My rav vast drum makes a great change from the bagpipes I play with our local pipe band.
This is a very helpful video for more ways for me to acclimate to my new Rav Celtic Minor Double Ding. Thank you Ricky for this and all of your amazing videos.
@@BDWoodruffmusic Thanks Brandon, I'm the same way with my flutes - can't walk past them without playing a tune. I'm sure the RAV will be the same way :)
Love your playing and instruction really appreciate the time you put into it. Only thing is I always look around my room for the chickens I hear ;) Waiting on my 1st drum and have a feeling I will be watching these again. Peace.
Thank you for your tutorials. Just got my G Pygmy and your tutorials help. My thumbs hurt! I guess they will build up some tolerance and callouses over time.My friend calls it a Hippie wok. I love my hippie wok.
Thank you! I’m still having difficulty achieving a loud enough and clear tone using my hands. I get lovely sounds with the mallet set, but my direct touch seems to be weak. I do pay attention to making sure my strikes are light and distinct, but there’s not much sound coming out...yet. I’ve reviewed several videos on technique. I think it might be time seek out a direct teacher, because for me this has not been an easy instrument to play. Do you give lessons, or have any recommendations? I live in Connecticut.
Hey there! Yes the initial difficulty is really getting the right strike, so I can understand that being tough initially. The strike and letting your finger bounce off is really the trick to a clear sound. I do indeed take students for online and in person lessons. I am a state above you in Massachusetts so not all that far, Feel free to email me if you want to figure something out! My username at yahoo.com 🙏 Ricky
I have never really had a problem with that. The inside is well sealed and does not need to be wiped or cleaned. Even a bit of hair/fur should not cause any problem :)
Your chickens are really enjoying this!!
OMG the chickens!! I love this. I have a RAV vast arriving tomorrow. Can't wait to implement your techniques.
Good luck!! If you are in need of 1:1 song based lesson, feel free to be in touch! rewildyoursoulmusic.com
@@ReWildYourSoul Many thanks. I'm in Australia though so I'm not sure how timings would go. 🤷

Absolutely LOVE your chickens! I may have to go out to my chicken house & play for mine. Yours seem to truly enjoy the instrument.

I'm just getting ready to buy one; may I ask which one you started to learn on? The Pygmy G has gotten my attention...
Could you let me know of which RAV that you use in this video?
do you ever get dirt/pet hair or anything in your rav? how do you clean the inside out?
I have never really had a problem with that. The inside is well sealed and does not need to be wiped or cleaned. Even a bit of hair/fur should not cause any problem :)
Which one is the first scale you play?
A Rus was my first scale :)
