I really appreciate your lessons. I am a musician, flutist. Not a percussionist. I have flip flopped on my key choice but keep coming back to B Celtic minor. I cannot wait to purchase but in the meantime I am learning all I can from your instruction. Thank you so much!
I definitely recommend the B celtic or the B kurd. My personal background is as a string instrument/ flutist as well, so I approach them in a very melodic/songwritting way. I think if you resonate with the b celtic, the B kurd may be a good choice as it is the same scale with one extra half step at the bottom of the scale. When you get one, definitely use my discount code to save a bit more (7% i believe) it is REWILD. Feel free to email me as well if you have any other questions!
Oh wow ….dude…this is really good! Very helpful …especially since I’m not on that one that often … generally just blend my B RAV in with a Bm handpan …. This has inspired me …. Thank you ……🙏🏼……🛸🎶…..🤗🦋
Wow this is SO helpful, my friend. Thank you!! As a jam musician almost not training, I was doing that intuitively but to hear it spelled out was a big 'click' in my mind and a confidence booster too! Now I know the structure of what I have been playing that can be called 'songs'. haha! And how to track the root of the rhythm and record it.
Great video! As a flute player with minimal guitar experience, (and now recently drawn to the RAV) I love both its melodic and percussive potential and can see using both. But you just opened up the subject in a way that made sense to me.
glad to hear that! I think that it would be helpful for people to think of these as something beyond just percussion! I really love the potential these instruments hold. Stay well my friend!
I'm actually learning how to play it by watching this video ruclips.net/video/a72M5pQ4J3U/видео.html he has the same model as I've bought (B Celtic Double Ding, though the central ding (the only new note in Double Ding model) seems to be never used so it's perfect for regular B Celtic too!). It's easy to reproduce some parts. Really enjoying it!
Great Video! As a percussionist it's very interesting to see how you approach making music on this instrument. I haven't received the Rav i ordered yet, but i'd probably just start playing without any thought and rely completely on my intuition. Your approach is a lot more thoughtful i think, with great results!
you will love it! It truly is a magical instrument. For me, the beauty is how each person approaches them differently. With no cultural ties, you are free to approach it in any way you wish :) Will be looking for your videos when you do receive it!
Hi Ricky, I have no musical background at all. Do you have tips on how to learn to keep up the chord? Its 12 123 123 12, isn' t it (3/4 measure) How can we practise it? How many bpm?
Your the best teacher with the RAV ever 👍
