- As those of you who have been watching the channel will know, I'm a big fan of supporting the little guys making big waves in the industry. George from Simcore in Australia is one great example. In my experience, his attention to detail is second to none, so today let's take a look at the Special Edition Boosted Media version of his STD-24WS Wireless Sim Racing Button Box for Simucube 2, then put it on a MOMO Team 300 and see how it drives!

I love how intimate the sim industry can be once you look beyond the faceless corporations (Logitech & Fanatec). Something feels really nice knowing that there is a George or a Martin behind your product, putting this much passion into what they make. Simcore & Ascher for the win!
Thank you, Will! I've been looking for a button box for GT/rally for the last few weeks. I've looked at a bunch of different options (we're so lucky these days to have so much choice!) but nothing got me fired up as the first time I saw this wheel. I filled out the contact form one the SimCore site and was very pleasantly surprised to have a reply from George within a day. What a great guy! He patiently answered my questions and last night I created an order for a custom wheel. I love the pairing with the Team 300 so I ordered that too.
Thank you for the great content and videos. Your channel has helped me to discover new products and answered a ton of questions about the details of those products. Especially on expensive purchases like this, it's great to get a real zoom in on the products and see the details. Cheers!
Great to see this video as George wired mine up yesterday and should be shipping today. Unfortunately I had to go with 2 rotary encoders at the bottom due to being at my max price, but was good to hear they also have a push button function to them as well.
Big fan of what George is doing with SimCore. I plan to buy more from him in the future for sure. I have the ALU mount for my SC2 and is one of the best pieces on my entire rig despite being such a small part. George is very good to chat and contact with and I overall can't say enough about the guy.
My only gripe on this plate is the spacing of the buttons for the top buttons. I think George should design a version with buttons slightly lower spacing much like Ascher does with his button plates. Would mean rims like the R20, P310 and even the 300 rim you are using don't have the blank space between the top of the rim and where the buttons start.
If I was using this plate it would be something as an in-between what I want in a Formula Rim and a 330mm Round for MX5 / Road / Street cars which dont need a full 350mm.
Great review again Will.
Very informative and very accurate, George does great work and has very nice products.
"These are my favorite shifters out of all the wheels I've tested - I can't exactly put my finger on why that is"
So to speak
During the intro.. that material is so sick 😍
I see the title; I click.
Great job
I need this , nice video review. Was going to get Cubes GT wheel but this looks really nice.
My wallet shakes in fear! Sooo goood looking
Another great review video, Will!
I received my STD20-WD wired version of the SimCore button plate a couple months ago and absolutely love it.
Keep up the good work champ.
Need to review a HRS wheel too! 🤔😄
I ordered my simcore button box about a month ago. Hopefully gets shipped out soon
Gorgeous video Will - great lighting and can almost feel it through the monitor, the machining of this looks amazing. Which is not a surprise given e.g. the quality of the SimCore DD wheel mount, which is insanely well done.
EDIT: That Momo rim also looks supremely comfortable. Wow, what a combo!
Very beautiful wheel, unfortunately a bit over my budget. Amazing video as always Will.
Thanks for sharing Will! Just wonder if these are still the best feeling magnetic shifters? I’m in Sydney and always love locally made items on my rig! 👊
the cut away on the entry to Druids after going 3 wide off Paddock Hill.....sus :D
Lmao! I was hoping someone would notice it! Yep can confirm didn’t end well. Lucky only against AI
@@boostedmedia ahhhh that explains how you were cutting everyone up with such ease :D Thought for a bit you had overlayed some Tom driving :P
Lmao!!
So much awesome in this
No way! Will driving at Australia in the F1 game, never seen that before:)
Only track I’m semi competent at in F1 these days. Hardly ever play it anymore.
I'm finally getting mine 😍 Shame on you Will 😂 in Boosted Media (MOMO) colors of course!
You won’t be disappointed. It’s a gorgeous wheel and button box.
Beautiful. For the price, it's got to have a couple extra rotaries though for me. Just can't be spending that money and missing that extra functionality :( I wish SRB BB was available in USB!!
Can you do a direct compare between this and the SRB BB Ultra and the Ascher button box (B16L-SC).
Ascher may be hard as they’re often out of stock, but I’ll shoot them and SRB an email. :)
14:27 Barry Rowland style. :)
I really like the look of this wheel. I'm told it might be a bit heavy for an SC2 Sport. Does it really have much impact on sensitivity?
Question about the momo rim: is it center mounted or is the mount slightly lowered?
Can you do a rank video separately on wired and wireless button boxes?
I bought a momo team 280 but it feels lop sided when mounted the center mount is not the center of the wheel it is off center towards the bottom.
Hi Will, like you I do streaming/recording of races. Does the noise of these shifter clicks come through in your recordings? Or is this not noticable? I guess this all depends on microphone sensitivity. Or is there the ability to dampen down the sound of the clicks with a rubber membrane on the flat faces? Great review by the way.
Hello sorry for my bad English I am French and I have one short question : what do you think to compare Prenez votre Button Box ici :STD24-WS / Momo Team 300 to compare Wheel Asher Racing bottom plate ML16 or BM16 with / Momo Team 300. I am interesting for one other new wheel for Rally or GT3 (I use at the moment the Ascger F64V3 USB)
I wonder if the Fanatec Porsche Rim would fit nicely or not.
What did you think of the “water pistol” style buttons when driving?
Given that you have Fanatec porsche endurance module too and few separate wheel rims .. can you advise any wheel to consider if goal is good compatibility spoke clearance/size wise(for gear flaps reach) with endurance module, but round rim (preferably leather trimmed) for more universal type of use in eg. rally/drift games instead of stock D-shaped porsche wheel that goes with said endurance button module?
Talked about that here: ruclips.net/video/Vglq9XTf8VM/видео.html
Could you please tell me the name of the gloves you are using ?
I'm confused about momentary switches. You mentioned it has to be held for the function? Could I set a momentary switch to say turn on headlights, then hit it again to turn it off? Sorry for the stupid question just wondering. Not sure what the difference is between the larger buttons on the top that are protected and momentary switches.
That’s correct. You can set them in most sims to trigger a function such as headlights on and off with each push.
@@boostedmedia thank you so much!
@@boostedmedia Hi Will! The simcore media content is much appreciated. I have the question if the button plate would fit on a Momo 27 290mm wheel? Any response is valued and acknowledged.
Needs simagic compatability option!
I think SRB BB ultra is definitely a better buy..
yep....but maybe in red on my turn rim
Great looking set of rim. Would this work on a Fanatec CSL DD?
Wheel yes! Button box not really.....Fanatec doesn't play well with others.
You won't get ffb without first fastening it to one of Fanatec's hubs, due to their inbuilt encoder and would also need Simcore's USB version of this button plate, then connect to PC via an external USB hub.
@@psychedelicphlegm thank you so much - this clears it up for me.
The two encoders don’t fit up there and the small ones gorge said are shit . That’s why they can’t be there I asked him a few weeks ago on a phone call .
will this wheel work on a fanatec dd1? if so how will i do it? Sorry im still kinda new :D
Be careful to wear your virgin protection gloves while touching that button box
Lmao!
The thing is called an "STD"! I’d be double gloving!
Will this fit the turn r20 wheel?
With all of that said, I'm not much wiser in regards to "button boxes". Do I press a button for acceleration or what?. Does it plug into peddles? So much un-said. 😒
A button, for acceration? That is called an accelerator pedal...they are the ones on the ground. Next to the brakes :-)
Well thats awesome lol
Will the USB version work with my CWS 2.5 Will.
Yes if you use a podium hub
Is this working with fanatec via podium hub?
No this is a Simucube wireless wheel only. There are USB versions available though.
@@boostedmedia I have wheel plate R300 from fanatec, what hub can i buy for this wheel plate exept fanatec hub?
thx for answers:)
Sold....oh wait....*looks at G25 :(
my money is gone just like that
What is this momo wheel model?
Team 300
@@boostedmedia thanks mate :) gonna order the same!
Some duct tape might do it (response to the title)
I can test one out for I'll do it for free as well I'm a good guy like that lol 😂
The "STD", a rather unfortunate naming convention!
