My Husky eats like a Pig. She stole a slice of pizza and just swallowed it whole. In fact she swallows pretty much everything whole and then acts like she ate nothing 😑
I have never owned a Husky, but I have heard it said that living with a husky is like perpetually living with a particularly clever three year old - who is jacked up on caffeine.
Mine is a hard sleeper. I don't find her too much unlike other dogs. She plays hard then passes out! When the weather changes I notice a burst of energy and disobedience. That's about it. She's great in the house.
I received my husky when he was 2 as a gift. I didn't know what i was getting into. I always had easy going, trainable dogs. This one was definitely a challenge for me. He's 6 now. He is absolutely gorgeous, lovable, great with kids, sneaky, smart, bossy, hairy as hell. He is not interested in barking or protecting my house. He really does not care if anyone is at the door. He's a hugger. Definitely full of energy. They dig a lot. I have a 6ft wood fence. He hasn't been able to get out but he is always inspecting it to see how he can get out. He is able to open his kennel. He learned how to howl last year. It was great. The neighbors thought I was mistreating him. Not the case at all. He was sad because my nephew left and he was heartbroken. Now he howls every time my nephew visits and leaves. He even taught the neighbors dogs how to howl so they join in. Smh...
My husky when he was just 8 weeks old barked off an intruder who wanted my motorcycle he also likes to bark at bees unfortunately he got stung on the nose once
I love my Luna! Escape artist for sure. She learned how to open a locked window to get out. When my husband received bad news and was crying, Luna immediately came to get me. Prancing and pulling me off the bed. She was so insisted that I followed her. She ran to my husband who was on the kitchen floor crying because he was just told his brother had passed. My baby girl refused to leave his side for a week.
They are escape artists too!! I just adopted this beautiful.. sweet baby from SPCA. on the second day, that bugger got away. Called him.. no good. Had my neighbors all up and down the street.. we were chasing him In our cars. Omg. (Be extremely careful being off lead with these doggies.)
@@francisphillips53 mine escaped i didn’t put his collar on tight enough good thing ive had some training with recall and didn’t run away also he’s only 8months old
I rescued a husky without understanding them, and he was definitely a challenge the first year. But I’ve learned. And have fallen in love with him. The most amazing dog I have ever had, and I have had some great dogs.
@@ahmedhamdani4549 I found ours at the local pound. Wasn’t even looking for one but his face stood out soon as I walked up. I said Jesus, they have a wolf here. He’s beautiful. Dark brown and white with some black. Gorgeous dog. We paid 50 total to add him to our family. He’s only 2 1/2 and is 3 feet tall sitting and is 70lbs. :) He’s a huge boy and is thin so he’s going to be about 100 lbs total. Not a single issue from the pound either. Loves our beagle and is perfect around our kids. We got so lucky we found him.
these dogs are literally the sweetest creatures on earth. my neighbors had huskies and they were always extremely quiet. they LOVE the snow too :) but they are escape artist XD
We were supposed to sit "Judy" for 2 weeks when she was 7 months. Her owners split up during their move and neither one of them wanted her back. She is now just over 3.5 years old and will forever be with us. She is wonderful to be around, if we are inside or outside playing. We will never give her up.
I remember way back to being a toddler, i used to ride my Nan's huskies around the yard and they loved it. I was a part of the pack as soon as they met me. They were awesome doggos. Kahn, he was the most protective of me and unfortunately shortly after a visit, a red belly black snake made its way too close to the house. Good ol Kahn, he was still looking out for me but unfortunately he got too zealous and got bit. He was an old boy and from what I heard he had a smile until the end. Huskies will be your best friend till the end and beyond. Ive never seen another animal go against survival instincts for another like Huskies do. They're too damn wholesome
I had multi huskies at the same time since 1972 and this video tells it how it is. Most of my huskies have been more bonded to one person, but does accept the family alright.
I remember that one of my neighbors had a sweet and goofy husky. They put him in agility competitions all the time and even taught him how to dance. They had a whole wall filled with ribbons and trophies from his various contests
My 8 year old female is an off leash husky, she listens very well except for when she sees squirrels or other small game, then it takes me to call her off 3 times to get her to snap out of it. Shes lovely with all other dogs big or small and loves human affection. She gets 2 bike rides a day and 2 regular walks. I keep her happy and she doesnt try to get away or make any trouble in the house. She is the smartest sweetest dog I've had. If you're active person with time at home then I would definitely reccomend a Siberian husky
For anyone watching this video trying to research Siberian Huskies for your own pet, let me say that I have had a lot of dogs in the past 45 years and my current is a Siberian Husky and is now 10 months old. This video is scary accurate. I just though all of the personality quarks like unusual friendliness, lack of eating, being and escape artist, digging, and being a HORRIBLE guard dog (seriously she doesn’t even lift her head when the mailman comes), was just her own personality traits and that every S. Husky is different. Well this video absolutely nails every detail. There is no exaggeration whatsoever.
I have a Siberian Husky and he’s is the pickiest eat because he spoiled as hell. We’ve made the mistake of giving him a whole piece of steak, grilled salmon, his own specially prepared rice with chicken, carrots, and Brussels sprouts. Now he refuses to touch his dry food plain. 😂
@@notilluminati8204 funny enough i stopped giving my dogs anything with their food except for yogurt and they are eating it all now cause i switched them to blue buffalo and they are hungry.
I had dogs through my childhood, many years ago, and are now ready to get a dog again. I think Im naturally good with dogs, but not a dog “expert” do you think a Husky would be a good choice? I just love this strong, independent, proud dog :-)
@@goswo If you can manage the cons, train and socialize early in his/her life, and have time for it then yes. Some huskies tend to be aggressive towards other dogs/breeds, more so at dog parks for whatever reason. That's been my experience. As long as the owner can control their dog, it's not a problem. But on my ring app a few days ago, a cat owner showed a video of a husky attacking their cat on their lawn and the owner of the husky did not have control of their husky. It was a video that was really hard to watch. At our local dog park, two huskies and their two owners were at the dog park alone. At the fence they started barking aggressively at my mastiff. I decided there was no way I was going to let my dog in there with them. So please, if you decide to get one, please socialize and train them early.
@@goswo Oh yes yes yes. If you can give it a walk a day and are willing to invest a little time as one does with say, a five year old child, then he/she will enter your soul and you will float on cloud 9 of puppy love for all of the time your new 4 legged person with a coat on, is with you. xxxxx ))))))
don't listen to the two posters above me: a husky needs WAY more then "a walk aday" you need to run them on a bicycle 3 times a week to keep them from becoming destructive in the house or wanting to escape. they mellow out after about 6yrs old. you should NEVER let them off-leash unless its a fenced area. they are great canines but are much more independent and intelligent than most other common breeds
I just adopted a alaskan shepherd from the SPCA he is so beautiful.. he is such a sweety. I walk him 2 miles a day. He followes me everywhere I go. I love him dearly.. my BEST Christmas present ever.
I am having one since 9 years and she is indeed the apple of my eye. i was in my uni for 3 years but when breaks came i couldn't wait to see her. My sister took her care behind my back tho. A Very playful dog ,loving and sometimes it feels she understands whatever i say. She is very independent spirit ,they just want you in your sight.
I love my husky so much. I rescued him but if I'm being honest, he rescued me more. I always feel safe and loved. He might be a royal pain in my ass at times with his constant need to lay beside me 24/7, but I wouldn't trade him in for anything.
One benefit I've noticed with people that own Huskies there never overweight I've never seen an overweight person own a husky so it's the perfect dog for those that want to lose weight cuz the dog will keep you very busy and active
Spot on! Great video! Hope folks watch this before bring a Siberia (or Alaskan) husky home. As a single male who works from home (and doesn't mind the sheading), we've made each other's life so much more fulfilling. It took a few years for our bond to build, considering he had been handed off about four times before he was one, which is around the time I took him in. But now, it's an amazing bond of mutual love and respect. He changed my life. There were a few trying times in the beginning, but once I fully committed and came to understand his needs more, there was no turning back. Siberia (or Alaskan, slightly larger than a typical Siberian, which I learned recently) huskies are not for everyone or all circumstances, but for those willing to give time and attention (and be around the home most of the time), this might be the breed for you. Again, a life changing (for the better) experience. I love my baby boy, more than words can adequately convey. Thanks for the wonderful video! Great information for any considering bringing this bead home and integrating into the family unit (in our case we're the family unit. :) Thanks!
I have a mal. I thought you were talking about him all f the way through this video. He's 15 now and I am dreading that terrible day ... you know when. I never in all of my wildest dreams thought that this type of dog .... husky, malamute etc could enter into one's soul. If anybody is wondering about any of the negatives, I would simply say, they are invisible compared to the depth of love that these dogs will pour all over you continually.
so true: everytime they pissed you off when they lived....are all the things you miss when they were gone. the skunk fights, puking half a chewed rabbit on the white carpet, using the garden as a chew toy!
@@crabtrap lol the garden part soo true destroyed alot and made lots of huge holes and mine brought a squirrel in his mouth he was soo happy until i took it away
@@89ksokd91 They make lots of noise to let you know someone is coming ))) Also, they will talk with you heaps and heaps (more than any other dog I've had in my 70 years) As far as viscious, I am not into that type of pet, so "BabyDog" has been brought up as everybody's friend. But you would still know when someone is coming because he gets really excited that a new human has come "just to play with him" I can't stress enough that if brought up with total love, then they can be that missing part of your soul. ))) Protective? Well, I thought mine was useless, but while we were walking in the bush (we live on a few hundred acres of useless rugged land) he was about 20m in front as we were heading home. I looked behind me and 2 red cattle dogs had decided to make me their mark. First thought was "well this is going to get interesting" but suddenly, out of nowhere, BabyDog flew past me, rolled the first then the second. They both took off. So. I then realised besides being part of my soul, he was also my guardian angel )))))) If you're asking because you are thinking of getting one. There are a dew things, .... they will run away (chasing a butterfly or something and might be hard to catch) so I always walk mine with a 30m rope; they shed -- very generous, they'll give you another mal almost every day so be ready to clooect a LOT of hair; they are super smart so will try to be boss, so heaps of love needed; they are super energetic. BabyDog is now I guess equivalent to about 100 human years using a dog year = about 7 human years stuff but he still gets the zoomies;they desperately need lots of attention and LOVE; oh well, end of rant ))) have a nice day xxxxx
As a former professional dog trainer, and a current owner of 2 Huskies, I wanted to say this is a GREAT video to let people know both sides to owning a Husky. It’s on point and very informative as well and I am impressed with this video. The only thing I cannot impress to people who have never had a Husky (or Malamute and other major shedding breeds) is how bad the shedding is. I usually tell them it is like Pig Pen from Snoopy; except the dirt cloud is hair. We had to net the hair out of our fish tank…and it had a glass lid on it! I love my fur babies even if they shed more hair than other breeds even have. ❤️😁
Hello Stacy. I need your help. I own a two months old female Siberian husky named NOVA. I am worried about her training. I think I need some tips and suggestions about dog training from a professional trainer. Kindly reply to this comment if you can help. I will be very thankful to you. We can contact on watsapp or Instagram if you like to?
100%. Amazing beautiful animals bred to run and live in the outdoors. Cruel to treat them like small domestic breeds. They are smart and suffer when too penned in or bored.
@@kikkybadasszw they should be fine together, since the pup is growing up with the cats. Just remember to properly introduce everyone and watch them closely to make sure they’re mingling properly and safely. If you have any doubt or hesitation, you can always contact a behaviorist or two (one for the cats and one for the dog) to make sure it is a good introduction. Also, I would recommend doing a puppy training class for your pup as well. Basic training is super important to establish a good foundation of manners for your pup so y’all can enjoy your time together. 😁
'Storm' is my 3rd Husky; fortunately I'm a keen runner and she loved 5Km Parkruns, 10Km's, and half marathons with me before she retired herself aged 8 and still going a bit slower now aged 13. Yes, total escape artists 😅
Listen I own 3 huskies, it is a ton of work.is almost like parenting...they are like children and will constantly just fuck everything up And it cost alot to feed them and to buy the toys. Because I have yet to find a single toy that can not be destroyed. I fucking love them tho
Huskies are meant for hard core dog lovers. They are not for the faint of heart, that's for sure! I have 6 of them in my house. 5 siblings & their Mama. 9-10 years old & they are a lot of things but dignified & quiet are not words I'd use to describe my bunch.
I took in a female husky that was dumped in our neighborhood. I had the vet check her ears, I thought she was deaf. After two weeks she heard every word I said. I passed her test. Long story short about 65 days later I found out why she was dumped. I now have four half husky boys that are 5 months old. They will talk to you or each other constantly, and they howl when dad comes home. They are a handful but they keep me entertained.
they need a LOT of exercise and are bred to work. it is cruel to keep them in any apartment or loft, no matter how posh, it f you’re not getting them out a lot. Not little walks. Real exercise.
We have a Husky, Malamute, Shepard , Lab mix. Maya is the most energetic and loyal doggo I've ever met. She is our world and we are hers. She is 3 now and I already can't imagine the day she is no longer my fishing buddy.
I have 2 boy siberian huskies, brother's at that. It's been an awesome experience so far. Wouldn't change it for the world. Such beautiful an intelligent boys.
Lot of work but so rewarding. Best dog I ha e ever had. 17 years with my girl. Only had three major vet visits two paw related and one because she ate something bad when she escaped
Rescues are so loving and such good dogs. My first dog was a German Shepherd rescue and she was such a good girl. I honestly believe they know you took them away from a bad situation. Bless you for saving your doggie 🙏
I have had huskies in my life since I was a kid and it has been wonderful and a privilege. I currently have two huskies and this summer they will be accompany my son and I on a 5 day backpacking trip on the Pacific Coast Trail. I can’t wait!! This video is spot on about owning a husky but remember they aren’t just Pets - they are companions who while they can be stubborn and a pain at times, they are a very special and wonderful breed who love their people very much.
I'm lucky to have two adorable huskies Terra and Cloud. They're great with my niece and nephews. These dogs are guaranteed to run around in the yard and sometimes they can be stubborn. If you don't listen to them they're going to bark.
@@mahalie23 I called my dog Mucker, means digger. One time I was out late. I forgot dog food. I go in the freezer for a frozen steak for the dog. I dropped it on his plate, Broke the plate (plate like we eat from). I go wash my hand, come back 40 seconds later, a one pound frozen steak is gone. Dog is licking his lips. All I could say was HOLY SHIT.
Yeah this is all true. Especially the escaping part, the electric collar. Mine would just tank through it. She was definitely crazy when she was young now she is more calm but still likes escaping 😂
I just took in a stray husky puppy. He was as thin as a fox and gained 12lbs in 4 days. His energy levels are amazing. He only sleeps 6 hrs a day maximum and when he's awake he's running, playing tug or digging up tree roots. He housebroke in 2 days. In 4 days i taught him how to let himself out and we havent had a accident in a month. They are more agile than most dogs. He doesn't do the off leash well but I found a 25' self winding leash that's working great for both of us.
I have a huskey (skye) and a pomsky (rupert) and they are both very well behaved right now but they are still quite young so im going to train them up very well as they grow up 😁
I had a husky that we just had to put down after 15 years. I would never own another one. They're great dogs but destructive especially when they're young. We locked her up in a cage once. We came home and half the bedroom door was gone. The cage was still locked closed. To say they are escape artists is an understatement. They're pack dogs and can't be left alone at night or they will howl and destroy. Still she was a great family member till the end and gentle around people.
I got mine when he was just 8weeks old he’s really nice and obeys me I think it’s because we wrestle a lot and I always win as for other people he shows no respect he does guard the house from bees unfortunately got stung on his fat nose
From my own experience, the hunting drive was the most troubling. They had no problem with cats or other creatures that clearly were part of the family. In fact, they were very friendly with my cats and most cats. But it is nearly impossible to stop them from hunting wild animals such as boar, deer, etc. Also sheep and other livestock. Mice, rats, and other small animals were frequently caught. So yes, keep them on a lead of some sort if there is any chance you may run into these things. Also, the amount of fur shed is hard to fathom. Cycling with them is a good idea, if possible more than an hour daily. In my case, the dogs were in fact adequate as guard dogs. They were very suspicious of large men in particular, and were clearly prepared to attack if further threatened.
I'd be kind of worried cycling with a dog. Esp. one with a strong hunting instinct/drive. How could you keep control if he suddenly pulls you to one side?
@@kaltaron1284 Training. But they behave differently in the town, and when they know they are on the lead. I never had a cycling accident with the dogs. Not in 15 years.
yep, prey drive is real. people need to think twice before keeping wolf like dogs! i had one and he chased jack rabbits and deer, he rarely caught anything but it was wonderful to see him run full out across a valley. not a dog for cities imo.
I took in a stray that was starving. He seemed about 5 mo. He food guarded on me the first night, and has no problem biting arms, legs, hands. Food guarding solves itself for me since i use the bottomless buffet dish method and all they can eat. They forget what real hunger is and food isn't worth fighting over. Ive been training him to not bite but he could easily become dangerous if not raised right. He's been here a mo. Now and has gotten much better and gentler at overall citizenship
We got two from a friend of mine instead of one we found out that worked out very well because they keep each other entertained and exercised we had a large fenced yard at the time and it worked out really well I adopted one of them out to a friend and we kept one and as they get older they tend to calm down some and are great in the house we still take our little girl to the lake and the hiking trails near our house though almost daily. But if it rains a lot and she doesn't get out she is just fine don't let a lot of the details get to you they're very friendly and adaptable and really love your company so just keep a routine for them so they will know what to expect and you will be fine
I have a border husky- border collie and husky mix- she was dropped at a shelter- she knows all her commands but is so stubborn, she will do them but only when she wants to do it.
hahahaa is because Huskies are like children, they need ot win over her first, when you get a husky you don't get a dog you get a son/daughter and they are super intelligent, they can understand our language very well, believe me, trust me in this one, just tell g=her to put attention to them, with your parents present like you are having a conversation tell her to put attention to them whilele they talk to her, they talk if she ignores you tell her to put attention and repeat you will see in short time she will understand you want her to be polite with them ;3
My husky meets just about every pro and con in here. I'm not sure if I missed it or is wasn't mentioned, but the biggest con for me is the hair. She's a great dog, when she was two we got a kitten and she was great with him. They are best friends and play with each other all day, every day. She does only eat a little bit at a time. We have changed her food several times but I think it just comes down to she eats when she wants to. She doesn't talk to howl too much which is great. She does get sassy sometimes but it's not often, which I'm thankful for. The shedding though... Ugh. We take her to the groomer every 6 weeks to get a good bath and blown out which helps with the hair that builds up around the walls of the house and all over everything, even after sweeping every day.
Good thing we adopted a Shepky with the personality of a Husky. Easy to train and fast learner. But she won't give us space at all. Rarely bark or howl. She also Love people and other dog. Love being hug and pat.
Mine is a rescue dog, she is 1-2 yrs old, she is great with our other dogs and cat, we have 2 acres fenced in yard she runs in, I always take her on walks twice a day
It May just be my three Huskies but they get aggressive, growl, and bark as they feel that I do not like a person or they smell a scent they do not like from a person ...I love it and tell those individuals they can't come inside my home
Our Husky understands he is not allowed to eat our cat, and for the last 8 years has seemed to include him as his pack-with some alpha situations, since the cat also understands the Husky is not allowed to hurt him...He teases...We leave them alone for a few hours -the cat is swift and has escape routes. The cat also has our Senior lab on his side-she barks and growls if they get too rough. The neighbor's chickens? He killed one 9 years ago, and was confined to house, leash or 60' cable as he pleases until recently. He seems to have learned something from our lab, who stays by our side in the yard. Rocky will now stay within 30 feet of us, plenty of call back time if he even looks across the 4 acres to the neighbor's chickens. We only unleash him when we are outside and able to supervise him. Has the freedom of the local dog park, too. Runs 5 miles in the mornings in cool weather with my husband, Walks a mile in the AM and one more in the PM in warmer weather. Also takes the evening walk in cooler weather. Washes faces, makes sure no one lays down on the couch while he is inside, prefers inside during the day, outside at night on his cable. Howls at the back door if he changes his mind....love our four-footers!
I’ve always wanted a Siberian husky and I met one yesterday! Turns out they are bigger than I thought, and after watching this video I don’t want them anymore but I still love them due to how playful they are and how cool they look! I just can’t imagine living with one 😅

Ive trained my siberian husky to see my cat as above her in the pack. So no problemo there😂 Ive also trained her to be in her confined space when me and my gf go to work. She gets around 1 hour of walk a day and several small trips to the backyard so she can run freely and dig up some dirt. Awesome and kind dogs❤
@@O-townplaya thanks, i am thinking to have one husky and this is going to be my first pet ever, can you please guide me a little more if i need later ?
This was the most d ad pot on of any vid like this I’ve seen. My husky Kronos was very quiet at home & never got into trouble as long as he had enough exercise (2 five mile runs a day. Recommend a bike attachment like the “Springer” on Amazon). Kronos never liked much attention & would walk away if petted for 2 min. But he had a bit of separation anxiety. He’d whine & howl if left in front of a store when in there for 5 min. Some huskies don’t like to be bathed or brushed. Kronos hated brushing so I do 5 min at a time sometimes several times a day. He kept himself so clean I never found the need for a bath w/ him. Huskies tend to be healthy but are prone to cataracts, epileptic seizures, and dysplasia.
Sadly my mom lost a cat to the huskies she had, she never introduced them for year and the cat ran down the stairs one day from the vacuum and while fleeing prey instinct kicked in
I can believe that easily. The weird thing is, had she exposed them to the huskies and slowly shown them that the cat was part of your pack, you'd likely still have that cat. We still have ours and the Husky never touches that cat. That wasn't always the case.
My dog's the hardest dog I've ever dealt with he is the biggest pain in the ass but I would never abandon him I love him like a son. I cycle with him everyday
I have a HIGH energy red heeler/blue nose pit mix named PopTart. She's in my current profile pic. This sounds just like her except for a few things. She is a good guard dog. She will not stand for someone she doesn't know messing with our territory. She doesn't attack, she just wants to play too, but because of her intimating bark & hair standing up ppl back off. I only had one other person still pet her like that but she owned a heeler as well & knows how they are. She won't bite anyone, but her stands up & she's got that loud bark & that frightens ppl. We do socialize her & take her many places with us. After the first initial 5 mins, her hair relaxes & she is good with others around. I think she's just trying to warn us that someone is approaching & needs to check them out first before she is okay. There is one man she doesn't like though & he radiates such toxic energy I believe she picks up on that. She is very vocal too. Her voice will be heard!
I concur they are not guard dogs. I had a bear walk up on me and my husky cooking while camping.. I was bent over cooking on the fire and my tired husky (who was laying down) seemed to nod at someone or something almost like a person would when someone they know walks up to them. I looked up and a huge brown bear was standing across from the fire smelling my food cooking. My dog barely reacted and thankfully her nod gave me the warning I needed and I got her and we backed away and let the bear have the food. (I know you are not supposed to give bears food but when a bear is less than ten feet from you and you know it wants your food and not you what choice do you have?)
We lucked out BIGTIME when we adopted our Husky almost 10 years ago. Laziest and most mellow Husky ever. We think part of it had to do with him being moved from home to home a few times due to his original owners being in the middle of a nasty divorce and neither could keep him.
My husky often locks me out of my room. She sleeps on the bed with me and hates when I leave her side a night so when I get up to get water and she doesn’t come with me, she’ll jump on my door and twist my lock. Idk if she does it on purpose or not but every time I go back in the room she’s always side-eying me.

Awwe.. good boy. I'm sorry about your brother in law.
My husky name is luna tho
@@francisphillips53 mine escaped i didn’t put his collar on tight enough good thing ive had some training with recall and didn’t run away also he’s only 8months old
MY DOG IS ALSO LUNA!!!! 😃
I rescued a husky without understanding them, and he was definitely a challenge the first year. But I’ve learned. And have fallen in love with him. The most amazing dog I have ever had, and I have had some great dogs.
My Husky is pretty much everything in this video she's very smart but also stubborn at times plus she loves to run
My puppy is like that he doesn’t listen loves to chew on stuff and can run for miles
@@zaywavvy I was aware of the chewing habit they have so I got my Husky a ton of toys she has them scattered all over my house
That's neat!
How much did the good girl cost you?
Just like Shar Pei
these dogs are literally the sweetest creatures on earth. my neighbors had huskies and they were always extremely quiet. they LOVE the snow too :) but they are escape artist XD
You're right about the escaping part. My neighbor has three and they are constantly escaping.
cheeky arctic monkeys...
Why did I think they have a secret club for that🤣
You can say that because they are not your dogs 🤣... try raising one 🤣.
🤣😂🤣😂 Escape artists!!!! Wow!!!
What makes them bounded in one person? Who would that person be?
We’ve just adopted our beautiful 8 year old lady, and she is amazing.she gets on so well with our 4 year old GSD..
I remember that one of my neighbors had a sweet and goofy husky. They put him in agility competitions all the time and even taught him how to dance. They had a whole wall filled with ribbons and trophies from his various contests
I taught my husky how to dance with me as well , but he has to decide it if he is in the mood for it . Mine is very tall and big husky .
Had beautiful malamute spot on video, hair every where. .loyal talkative, very strong prey instinct. Miss her.
Been there, done that.....we won't make that mistake again though. Costs too much money haha
Guess you are doing alot of shopping at Costco
You domt need tk do all that.
Did the same mistake and now i have to blend sardines with dryfood so he can eat. That deepshit kicks the food id its plain dry kibbles
@@notilluminati8204 funny enough i stopped giving my dogs anything with their food except for yogurt and they are eating it all now cause i switched them to blue buffalo and they are hungry.
I have a husky, the most loyal and intelligent dog I ever had!
I had dogs through my childhood, many years ago, and are now ready to get a dog again. I think Im naturally good with dogs, but not a dog “expert” do you think a Husky would be a good choice? I just love this strong, independent, proud dog :-)
@@goswo If your up to take on the challenge I think you should
@@goswo If you can manage the cons, train and socialize early in his/her life, and have time for it then yes.
Huskies are one of the best breeds. Had my boy for 6 years and he was an amazing animal. Couch potatoe half the time the other half my hiking buddy.
I just adopted a alaskan shepherd from the SPCA he is so beautiful.. he is such a sweety. I walk him 2 miles a day. He followes me everywhere I go. I love him dearly.. my BEST Christmas present ever.

I adopted a siberian husky from a local animal shelter, she is such a sweet girl and is going to be training her to be my service dog.
My girl is an escape artist. But you will never lack for love. And she is stubborn! The best dog ever.

Thanks!

I have two huskies. Patches and Romeo. I love them both. There is nothing like a husky.

100%. Amazing beautiful animals bred to run and live in the outdoors. Cruel to treat them like small domestic breeds. They are smart and suffer when too penned in or bored.
I’m thinking of getting one as a puppy but I have cats will they adapt ?
@@kikkybadasszw they should be fine together, since the pup is growing up with the cats. Just remember to properly introduce everyone and watch them closely to make sure they’re mingling properly and safely. If you have any doubt or hesitation, you can always contact a behaviorist or two (one for the cats and one for the dog) to make sure it is a good introduction.
Also, I would recommend doing a puppy training class for your pup as well. Basic training is super important to establish a good foundation of manners for your pup so y’all can enjoy your time together. 😁
@@kikkybadasszw Mine adapted but you still can not leave them alone while you are not there.
Some people buy huskies while living in a tiny studio and wonder why theyre dogs are aggressive and depressed

Lot of work but so rewarding. Best dog I ha e ever had. 17 years with my girl. Only had three major vet visits two paw related and one because she ate something bad when she escaped
Also a lot of the times they may get separation anxiety if you leave them home or at a kennel because mine will start to bite her paw if we leave her
We rescued a 4 year old husky from being euthanized and she is the sweetest, smartest, most full of personality dog I have ever seen. Love her!

I have had huskies in my life since I was a kid and it has been wonderful and a privilege. I currently have two huskies and this summer they will be accompany my son and I on a 5 day backpacking trip on the Pacific Coast Trail. I can’t wait!!
This video is spot on about owning a husky but remember they aren’t just
Pets - they are companions who while they can be stubborn and a pain at times, they are a very special and wonderful breed who love their people very much.
I'm lucky to have two adorable huskies Terra and Cloud. They're great with my niece and nephews. These dogs are guaranteed to run around in the yard and sometimes they can be stubborn. If you don't listen to them they're going to bark.
I have three huskies, one is named Cloud too!!! We spell it with a K though. Is your Cloud all white too?
Yep. All white.
Huskies dig holes for protection against cold winter winds. my husky dug a 3-level hole 3 feet deep, like condos.
Our husky dug a tunnel several feet deep to escape the heat!
My husky is super hyper and laid back at the same time
A very good and throughout explanation about the huskies' behaviour
Mine is 11 I adore him but wouldn’t get the breed again very very demanding dogs as you’ll know !
I need to cycle with my dog. Walking and jogging with him for +2 hours isn't enough for him and gets me so tired. He needs to run at his speed
My parents tell me that my dog only listens to me and only follows me when i call her but when they call her sha just stares😭😭
hahahaa is because Huskies are like children, they need ot win over her first, when you get a husky you don't get a dog you get a son/daughter and they are super intelligent, they can understand our language very well, believe me, trust me in this one, just tell g=her to put attention to them, with your parents present like you are having a conversation tell her to put attention to them whilele they talk to her, they talk if she ignores you tell her to put attention and repeat you will see in short time she will understand you want her to be polite with them ;3
My husky somehow just loves to remain quiet! It is so weird, but she is so silent.
Ugh. We take her to the groomer every 6 weeks to get a good bath and blown out which helps with the hair that builds up around the walls of the house and all over everything, even after sweeping every day.
huskies shed a lot, ours always did shed constantly. doubt grooming will help honestly, embrace the “husky felt” everything you own will always have 😅

I cycle with him everyday
omg next year I'm gonna get a Siberian husky!
talking to the voices on my head vs talking to my husky, ya makes sense ill get one
They are clever and run a lot
If i live in eueope someday i surely have one.. Climate here is too rough for them.. Love them anyways..
The video is spot on except for the “economical” part. My dog eats anything and everything.
Lol
Isn't that the meaning of economical?
Yep... pretty much spot on. Huskies... look of a wolf, personality of a 3 year old way behind on nap time. :)
We lucked out BIGTIME when we adopted our Husky almost 10 years ago. Laziest and most mellow Husky ever. We think part of it had to do with him being moved from home to home a few times due to his original owners being in the middle of a nasty divorce and neither could keep him.
Love my Shinju 🤍🐕 2 months siberian husky..
Wouldn't be without mine
HD is a great doggo
