At first I was extremely critical of the machine - I couldn't sew bluejeans on it. Fast forward to today and I will tell you it may not be 'heavy duty' for jeans and such - but - this machine got me into free-hand embroidery. I bought an open-toe darning foot and it was all over but the sewing! Along with the simplicity of stitch width length and all the choices of types of stitch designs, you can drop the gripper teeth and free hand to your heart's content. The auto threader - I LOVE IT! I am going very close to 71 and the eyes ain't what they used to be - really helps. Now one major gripe I still have - the throat depth. (P.S. got my jeans problem beat! was given two old 31-15's, a 1723 cylinder neck, a 45W2 cylinder neck and a Bonus 'never-stop' fur stitcher! - I know 'yea!' Yesss yea! now I can do my own clothing and ideas with NO hesitations.) P.S. if you find a 6600C - buy it. It is worth it.
Thank you! This video is nicely detailed, I bought my first sewing machine yesterday & this video helped me thread it with ease. Also, I’m not sure if the heart design was preset from the factory or if I unintentionally switched the design and landed on hearts.. either way, I’m taking these hearts as symbols of love for my new favorite hobby.
If your thread will not make a pass through the eye, then loosen the screw that holds the needle in place. Insert the needle all of the way up as far as it will go, but make sure the eye opening is facing you. Hold firmly, tighten the screw.
I bought a HD 6620 C from Joannes craft store because they said I could get free sewing lessons. After I bought it, they said they didn’t have anybody to give lessons. No written instructions whatsoever were included, nor was the clear bobbin cover. I have built several houses, and was a flightline mechanic in the service for seven years. I bought this because I wanted to try to upholster an office chair that I like. The machine is not working properly, and I have nowhere to turn. I am considering giving this away.
I just got one of these brand new today, and it would not work right out of the box. Tried all the troubleshooting, but it was still not working correctly. Like it's missing a stitch on every single stitch we selected. And the spacing was all wrong. This does not bode well. My singer advance 7422 suddenly stopped working one day as well. You just turn it on and it beeps. With no way to fix it. I think I will stick with either another brand or just an older model and do without the fancy stitches and lighter weight with plastic parts
