Good to see an amateur channel doing well. I thought the banter on the slow play was funny in the beginning but a bit extra overall. As the channel showcases, it’s amateur pool with no shot clock because it’s just a hobby for most amateurs. I’m not defending Jeff’s slow play but I’ve learned that you need to play the table and not the opponent. This applies here where Jeff’s slow play may have gotten in your head, even if it was just in the slightest. That could hinder your game concentration. We all come across slow players and players who get rolls, “typically” the better player comes out on top as long as you play the table and not the opponent.
Sure. It's psychological. But I thought the apa does at least suggest some sort of time limit. Jeff was taking well over a minute at times, right?. Annoying. And that 7 didn't look like it hit. Also, Jeff is a 7? I've seen him do some silly things. I get it. I wasn't there but some of his choices, don't seem like a '7' thing to do. He must be good at other things, stroke, banks or something I didn't see here for him to be a 7
Playing against a "slow player" used to cost me games because of jumping up too quick. Sometimes the player might be playing a psych and so I just turn it around by walking the entire table before a shot. @@JD-fx1np
That 7 either hit the rail or a divot in the table. It definitely made a momentum change. Without a watcher right on top of it, I would say, shooter wins by honest benefit of the doubt.
Always entertaining, especially your commentary and playful ribbing at yourself and others for bad shots or slow play. On the subject of playing a painfully slow opponent I think there IS a strategy that I have tried to use. 1.there is a tendency when your opponent is very slow for you to be rushed when you get back to the table because you are frustrated. Hence one makes mistakes by not following one’s own proper pre-shot routine, and you give the table back and the whole process repeats itself. 2. I say you have to flip the script by slowing down your own game for a start, pay attention to your pre shot routine, and take control of the table. It’s the old switcheroo. Let them be the ones to watch and get angtsy. Just a suggestion.
OMG thank you for this video. I'm the team's perpetual 2 handicap. I watch a lot of videos to try to learn more but your video had me laughing throughout the whole match.

@@Amateur_Pool I’ve been subscribed to ya a couple weeks, I’ve watched you play many matches 8 and 9 ball. At least what ya have on your channel. Handicapped leagues are so different in each area

If I understand what you are saying correctly , you misunderstand the rule .After the cue ball makes contact with his object ball (the 15 ) , a ball (any ball) MUST contact a rail . That is the rule . Any ball includes the 15 , the cue ball , or any other ball ( the 7 in this case ) IF the 7 ball did touch the rail after contact , the shot is fair. Once a referee is not called to watch the hit , the opponent is at the mercy of the shooter's honesty . Having said that , I believe Jeff didn't know for sure that his shot was fair OR foul , so play continued and he can't be blamed . His attention was focused on making contact so he can't be expected to see everything that follows from that point.

I would say it was a force to make him shoot at the only other 2 balls on the table, he had done many safeties on the 7 and his opp went after the 9 many times too if i recall right. So he just took that option off the table to progress the game.
The commentary might have been the worst part of watching the video. Glad the one guy won, even though it really didn't appear that he had much competition to challenge him.
@@Amateur_Pool it’s not that he sucked, but that he was condescending sounding throughout the video towards his opponent. I hate sitting next to people like that in league play.

7 didn't touch a rail. It hit maybe a piece of broken chalk or something small and settled in a divot.

T hit the rail. Rolled towards center of table.
