After I first drove an FRS I said it was like a go cart from hell. You're the second reviewer I've heard say that after that. That cracks me up because it does really feel like it. I actually just bought one and I love driving it. I bought the manual and I think it's faster than I thought it would be.
"the paddles are very responsive, so that is terrific." "the exhaust-note is terrific" "so the acceleration is not terrific" "handles like a figgin' go-kart" Hilarious.
Ok so everything I have read is that the suspension of the FRS is tuned differently than the BRZ. Also, unless you buy the Monogram FRS the BRZ has more features. Plus the visual styling is different in the front so they are not exactly the same. I test drove both and the FRS felt better handling wise than the BRZ and I test drove them back to back.
Good car reviews, definitely. But, coming from a fellow college student (auto journalism), your reviewing needs refinement. I'm hearing the same message in every review. "Terrific," "Fantastic," "Amazing," and "Awesome," are all too common. Expand! Tell stories and jokes, make analogies, and overall, entertain the person watching! You're reviews are on the right track! Keep it up. p.s. Kudos to the editing.
the manual version has too lightly sprung clutch for it to be fun, it's non existent feel. and when you're watching the rev's grow in 1st gear under full throttle, it's not quick by my standards. I'm 6'1" and my head does rub the roof, and my shoulders do not like to fit nicely into the bolsters. If i had a teen, I'd buy them this car though, for sure. I used to have a 180hp 3300lbs BMW E46 325i and I thought this car would be a lot quicker, and it didn't feel that way to me.
this car is like ice cream. the scion fr-s, toyota 86, and the suberu br-z. but id love to get one and see what i can do to it. Probbaly a supercharger
Superchargers are more commonly put into the FR-S' and BRZ's. And its a bit more practical for the average Joe who wants a bit more power without spending more to allow the Vehicle to handle the large power leap. But Turbos are always an option lol
depends how many people you are taking, say your taking 3 people it will be comfortable for the driver and the passenger but the person in the back may feel trapped in a way cause there is very little room.hope this helps :D
my problem with the FRS/BRZ is that if I wanted a car this impractical, I would have gone for a used C5/C6 corvette. and the vette is more practical when a hatch. this car is too slow, has shitty stock tires, and is super small... and I nearly bought one, just hard to justify from my stand point
Cheaper and more reliable than Porsche Boxster.
A crime to have it in automatic? You can get the frs in manual....
I wanna see an update on on the 2017

I live in novato! And I own a 10 series FRS. Love it.

Wasn't trying to be mean,I drive a 350z and the scion FR-S made me look twice. Great review.

Idk man, I wanna get one of these and I have a manual rn. I really like my manual but those paddle shifters look nice af 👌
1:13 , as a owner I agree. It DOES rock
I just got this car and i love it
I just done an engine swap on my toyota 86 gts. I swaped the boxer to a turbo 2jz and the power to weight ratio is awesome it just takes off.
Getting mine later this week 😍
How was it?
I’m a 5’3 teen male. Would I be able to see over the dash?
Don't you mean good job Toyota? Scion doesn't actually make any cars.
I was thinking the same thing lol
scion Is Toyota so if you thank scion , aren't you thanking Toyota ?
lmao when VV used to be saabkyle
To me it feels fast and love the acceleration
Do they ride smooth or are they just rough riding cars

very nice review
You should do a video on paddle vs manual transmission... whether you like it or not
How is that even a comparison lol, all paddle shifts suck until you get to really high quality cars.
Tim Barney not necessarily, the audi tt has amazing paddles

Who’s here in 2021
Me.
Peep the s2000 at 6:40
I'm soon going to get this car and I was wondering if this would be good for road trips 2-7 hours long

helpful review
+VehicleVirgins I'm OCD and your seat looks a little high and the Head Rest isn't set properly to the back of your head haha love this car!
yeah that's with a manual, the auto is like 7.9 seconds
Do you have to use the padal shifters
FRANK MOONEYHAN Boi
86, brz, this one...how many more are there?? jesus...

Parker is amazing
why are you driving an automatic
this was filmed in vintage oaks wtf hahah I am really surprised
why their called virgins
I like the mazda rx-8 better
Kfish I'm sure you love burnt apex seals as well
LOL
screw automatic stick is where its at
HWS3 you can actually get a manual with it
Drop a 2JZ in that car and it'll be both fun and faster! :D
Would ruin the handling balance, swapping to a WRX motor is a better bet or supercharging the original motor is the best options for more power.
2jz's are nice, don't get me wrong, but not the best suited for this type of vehicle.
Definitely is not 0-60 6.2 seconds....
the 2015 model makes this one look crappy
seriously? they almost look identical to me...
+MrRufflez101 they are identical lol, I have no clue what he's talking about
lol
i bought an frs and traded it in a month later lol. Worst car. Get a 350z instead
I love mine. I wouldnt trade my frs for anything
Girl car, most mini vans could beat it.
It's not very quick in a straight line but it would destroy a typical mini van on a track.
Vehicle Virgins
everyone goes to the track.....oh...wait...
Got to confess my second vehicle is a mini van.oops. I'm all about nissans, but I love this things rear bumper, they did a good job.
Err, fit a turbo in it and you'll be rocketing past pretty much every single car in its price bracket.
If you put a turbo in the car it is horrible thats why i swaped my engine to a 2jz
