Hands down this is one of the best reviews of the car out there and I've watched most! I own a '19 BRZ and it's my everyday car. I don't have canyon roads giant highways or even fast roads for that matter. Its power is more than adequate, shifting the manual as a normal car in normal traffic it drives fine so I don't need more power. But as you say for those that do you can modify this car in every way shape and form. It's never going to be the most practical car but for a sports car it is incredibly practical and spacious at a reasonable price. Fold the plus 2 seats down and you've got loads of storage space in the back. I think you're right, it will be a modern classic in many years time and finding a clean un modified one will be quite hard to find. Ive owned mine from new and never plan on selling it.

Toyota is known for their reliability, they should be making their own engines and not partner with other car brands.

The large dead panel in the middle is for the two heated seat toggles that are on the BRZ and special edition FRS/86s

The crappy radio is old-school Scion. As Toyota's youth brand, they expected you to remove it and install your own.
I've always wanted one of these, but I've sat in a few and I don't think I could live with one as my primary car. Too small and tight. This (with a manual) would be a weekend car. I'd probably get one of these over a Miata because I don't care for convertibles and I like the greater cargo space. Major props to Toyota and Subaru for not only making it in the first place, but continuing with a 2nd gen.
Engine swap: some madlads fit a Ferrari V12 under the hood of one of these and promptly crashed it on a winding road.

I’m very surprised that Toyota and Subaru made a new 86/brz,regardless I’m still happy they did

I own one since 2015. I have a 6 month old that I put the child seat in it. It’s a great daily driver that looks good.

That panel is where my heated seats aren't as there where zero options or trim levels on th FR-S. You should buy one it is a modern FB/FC and they are very affordable now. 2013 has a valve spring issue. 2014 has a Pioneer touch screen. You can put a tow hitch on it if you need to add storage or tow a tiny camper (I have). You can fit 3 full sized men in a pinch but thats like using the jump seat in a Ford Ranger - less than ideal but good to have. Dude. Buy one. Coilovers and wide summers make these the 85mph hoon machine you need to have fun but claim your clutch foot slipped if you get pulled over. Buy... One...
PS - the Torsen LSD works great with winter tires.

The dead panel in the middle, you probably figured out already, is for the heated seats option. I’m not sure if they were available on the scion, but they sometimes have them on the toyota

I wonder how many people actually brought these things before they put the Toyota badge back on, likely not many I for some reason suspect
