I used to own a 2013 frs, bought it brand new at the time, I used to love the car! I owned it for 3 years never had any real big issues with it, the only think I had done to it was the recall you mentioned. The car wasn't fast but it wasn't a total slouch either! Loved the handling, the way it drove it was so much fun! Now I wish I have that car again! The only reason I got rid of it, was because living in Chicago at the time the winter wasn't the weather to be driving around in it, I almost killed myself a few times! So the car had to spend the winter months in the garage! So the only time I drove it was in the summer months. Now that I live in Arizona, im looking for another one like the one I used to own! Mine was midnight blue with the six speed manual, and that's the one I want back again if I can find one. Of course its gotta have low mileage and the recall done. Nice review man! My car is currently at 85,000 miles. It's in the shop right now getting the clutch, transmission and brake system check up. Priority maintenance matters! Mine is a 2013, only "modification " I've done was a simple muffler delete.

I love my frs. My dad got it for me 2 months after I got my license and so as a student driver it is very reliable and easy to manage. My only complaint is the arm rest lol

Yeah if you want one with out any defects being used its gonna be 18,000 - 22,000. If your lucky maybe a little lower. Im buying mine now in perfect condition with 90k miles for 18k. I literally couldnt find one cheaper and I dont buy from private sellers since ive been fucked over in the past from doing private sales.
Different areas have different prices for a reason gas would be more expensive in Cali because the pay is much higher there to compensate for the cost of living

I would completely avoid it tbh. It’s a hit or miss with the engine blowing up so it’s best to avoid it. 2014s also had some problems with the coil packs and TOB for the manual. 2015+ would be my pick.

injectors, cold air intake, exhaust, and stage 1 tune, u can up to even bigger injectors if u put in an aftermarket fuel pump but that’s kinda expensive

Wrong Thinking! I own a 2016 FR-S and I just dyno'd it on E85 Stage 2+ and it went from 173hp at the wheel to 209hp at the wheel! That amount of horsepower makes the world of difference in this little go kart from hell when made fast. You will never be straight line fast, the car is made for cornering drifting and the track. I'm running - UEL or EL Header - Intake - Frontpipe/Overpipe - Catback Exhaust - OFT 2.0 Stage 2+ E85
The engine started knocking and crapped out in Mine that I bought in the middle of May a month later on June 23rd :( The extended warranty is getting me a new engine and labor payed for but they been jerking me around for a whole month and I been paying uber and lyft to get to work everyday in LA where its $$$$$$ :( cant wait to have my new car back in driving shape.

The gas locking lever inside is a security issue not to have. My 2020 Mustang GT u just push the door and it opens no locking cap is even possible. I bought what Ford claimed was the locking cap. It's basically a bottle cap size size and shape peice of plastic with a ancient lock style Design that's basically worthless and hard to put on and take off every time. It doesn't hinge and it's so small it gets lost easily.
Used to have a 15 FRS automatic that I bought it for cheap at the auction I’ll always be a manual guy through and through but the 6 Speed is pretty decent not as bad as I expected and actually takes a ton more abuse especially if you add supercharger or turbo and less bs issues than the manual the manual on this is not as good as the Honda’s.

I am sure he would agree that a Supra its bette but the difference its in the budget a supra is 50k plus and there no space on the back and on these one theres barely space but there is.
When the recall is done your car should run fine, many people that get the recall done have their car run fine after. You hear all these problems about the engine dying again, but that was due to the first few service bulletins which indicated the uses of heaps of silicon gasket, this was rectified and less silicon was used and you don’t see them fail anymore. My advice do your research on which dealerships around you have the best success rates with the recall then make your decision.

You can run it on less than 91. It's only recommended. The ECU will retard the detonation if you run less than 91. However, if you retune it, then you will need the retuned specific fuel.
