I had a used 2017 5.0 when I got it it had 58k miles and the problem it had was the door hinges were bad I later found out it was a recall they had on that year. I also noticed once it hit around 70k miles it felt slower and sluggish. A tune up fixed that problem. Other than that it was a good truck and it made me fall in love with f150’s I sold it back in 2022 to the dealership when I took it in for service they had a brand new tremor sitting right in front of the dealership and I had to come home with it. The 3.5 does feel more ballsy, I just hope it turns out to be a great truck for me and I plan to keep it so I got the extended 100k mile or 10 years warranty. Fingers crossed

Just put a remanufactured ecoboost in my 2012, and was thinking about getting a tune. That’s how I found this channel. It’s very informative and entertaining keep it up Q! Your truck is 🔥bro.
I came from a turbo car (WRX) and then started getting into Mustang GTs and GT350s so I had my eyes set on the Coyote motor and pulled the trigger on a 19 F-150 with the 5.0 after my WRX hit around 197k on its motor. The 5.0 so far has been awesome but coming from a WRX, I would've been happy with either the Ecoboost or the 5.0 so I like both motors. Glad you are still lovin Red, Q! Always nice to see owners who mod their vehicles and keep them for a long time!
I’ve got a 2018 2.7L ecoboost lifted on a 6 inch RC kit with 35” tires purchased it last year with only 39k miles. Loving it so far and have done many upgrades to it already. Lariat style tails, lariat style gauge cluster, led bulbs everywhere, retracting hard tonneau cover. Only repair I’ve had to do is the horn (low tone blew out).
I still have my FIRST truck, 17 3.5 bought at 29k miles. Now I’m sitting at 94k miles. Used to tow my 38’ travel trailer at over 9k lbs, like it’s nothing! Also daily drive and get on average 21~25 mpg depending on how much I get on it. Only changes I’ve done is a catch can. Started to hear the cam phasers at cold startup and now am seeing the same coolant leak on driver’s side turbo. Oil pan seems to have small leak with the two piece pan as well.
Once again gorgeous truck! No matter the brand they all have their issues, some more than others. Obviously maintenance is key. I always recommend to do your maintenance before the manufacturers recommended scheduled maintenance interval especially if you plan on keeping your vehicle long term, just my opinion, lol. I just give my daughter a 2006 Chevy Impala with 200,000 miles that runs like new I bought used in 2009. I daily to work a 93 ranger with 507,000+ miles and still has the original engine transmission and rear end! Hopefully my 2017 Silverado gets over 100,000 miles before any serious issues, time will tell 🤣🤣🤣
2015 3.5 ecoboost with 115k miles, 6in lift, just now starting to get some of the problems you have had. possible radiator/coolant leak. Put some sealant in and it seems to be working for now. Replaced throttle body myself only cost $80. Enjoy the videos, seen you on the road a few times as I live near by.
Dang I thought about job man I knew I should’ve did it myself. Lol it’s not too hard. Hopefully that leak is good to go. I think next for me I might just go ahead and do my water pump just to be preventative.
That look came from the Atlas concept. Was so futuristic at that time and continues to be a great looking truck. Still best body for Raptor too, hands down.
I have a 2017 2.7 eco-boost & I love it ..I’m going to put a 3.5 in it when I get tired of the 2.7 …put it runs great & it really goes when put my foot down
I have a 2018 Lariat 3.5 I bought 1.5 years ago, used at 86,000. Got 112,000 now. Had cam phasers and water pump replaced at time of purchase and no issues until a few months ago. Had a rattle on cold start up that continued until the rpm’s would drop and then it would stop. Recorded it and showed the dealership and they said it was VCT solenoids. So it’s been in for a week now, gonna get new solenoids, cam phasers, guides, timing chain, water pump and a leaking oil pan replaced. Thank goodness for the extended warranty! But I love this thing!
Hey Q, you’re opinion. Im running stock 275/65/18’s but wanna jump up at least to a 33. I’d really like to try 35’s. You think I’d notice a big difference with the engine trying to get those roll’n down the road or would it not even notice the size difference? Not tuned by the way.

16-21 mpg stock. My 2013 f150 super crew 4/4 is getting 18 in city an 21 highway! These motors are all about maintenance!!! If you service them properly they will not let you down, plus the power they have is unbelievable for a v6 until you drive one I pull trailers with mine, hands down better than any v8 I’ve ever owned!!! Even better than the 5.0!!!! 5.7 an 5.6. When those turbos really kick in under a load there’s no stopping that 3.5! It’s a beast
They got you on the blend door actuator repair. Mine went out a couple months ago. My heater worked, but it wouldn’t move over to cold. I bought the part at Autozone and changed the part out myself. Took all of 45 minutes. I have a 2015 2.7L with 139k miles.
Whaddup, Q? I agree with you, don’t sell it at all. 100K is a great milestone and if Red isn’t giving you too many issues, she can remain the staple! I like the EcoBoost engines, and with my 23 Powerboost I get the engine and the hybrid. Granted I’m just leveled on 22’s, but my MPG is averaging 17-18 so I’ll take it. Quality vid as always, hope you’re doing well!
Love the look of that truck. I’ve got a 2014 and was thinking about lifting more(currently have 2” lift and level), but then I can’t get into garage or airport parking ramp

Coolant lines corrode if you don't change your coolant every 5 years. The fluid becomes acidic, in all vehicles. When you drain the fluid, it only drains the radiator so you have to drain and multiple times every couple of days. Also turn on the heater to cycle out the fluid in the heater core. Also the throttle bodies can be cleaned.
@@KickinItWithQ I appreciate your content, if it wasn’t for you and everyone else posting about turbo coolant leaks I wouldn’t have done the research to find out that I needed to change my coolant. I have a 2017 and I just changed it last week. I hope I caught it in time. I have drained the coolant from the radiator 3 times now. With a day of driving in between each drain and refill. I just found this video as my 15 3.5 just hit 100k…thanks for the review. I previously owned a 15 with 5.0 and it had just as much maintenance as my 3.5 but can’t say that for everyone.
98k on my 2017 2.7 bought it at 63k. No issues🤞🏻 regular maintenance, I do 3k oil change intervals since I plan to keep it a long time, done plugs at 30k mile intervals, oil catch can
Yo I got a 2017 Lariat. You got me on the lift. Mine is 3” with Bilstein coils. 22 on 35 nittos. Almost look just like yours just blue. I love it bro!!!
EcoBoost do get a lot crap. I honestly wanted the Coyote when I first bought my 17' Lariat and then the salesman told me to drive the 3.5 and was sold on the torque. The 5.0 felt sluggish in comparison plus the 3.5 had the new 10spd transmission at the time and was not available on the 17' V8. Went with the 3.5 and sold the Lariat at 36K and got a 20' Raptor which now has 33K. Still low mileage, but both have been good to me. No issues, however yours being a 15' you still got the 6spd trans which has been around longer and maybe not as many issues as the 10spd. The styling from 15-20 is really nice. These trucks age well and the interior may not be the nicest anymore but they were at the time and the comfort and space is top notch. Thanks for the update and cheers to another 100K PS, you forgot to mention the rear camera and APIM, but those aren't issues with EcoBoost.
You are correct I did forget to mention those issues I think they still going on you know. Thanks for the reminder. Absolutely man everyone who drives at 35 says it’s way quicker than the 5.0! The six speed is tried and true I actually did say that but I cut it out and editing. Glad you are enjoying that rap man those are some bad ass trucks.
Mines the 3.5l 2017. I'm at 96k miles. I got the cam phaser rattle 🤦♂️ other than that I've had nothing at all 🤞🤞. It's a great truck. I've towed a 32' bumper pull trailer camping with it, it's super versatile. I was never a "brand" guy, but Ford has earned me as a customer for life
On your heater if you had to get a new plenum box. Which should come with a new evaporator included. Ford does not sell just the part that is bad. They sell you the whole a/c heater box. Cost on this Plenum box Runs about 802 grand then you have labor. It takes about 12 hours to pull it out and put it back in.
Nice video man I like your truck I’ve never had four-wheel-drive before so I’m 44 now and I just got four-wheel-drive for the first time in my life. I love it I got the 2015 F150 in gray FX four lariat ultimate package so it’s got radar and everything And I bought it with 88,000 miles and now has 92,000 miles. I don’t put many miles on my vehicles I’m a big fan it’s got the 5.0 leader I get 17 in the city and 21 on the highway the engine never leaves 1000 RPM. Maybe it’ll get up to 1500 but very low. RPMs saves on gas.😊
I have a 2016 3.5 EB f150, have already done the manifolds and lots of other goodies, probably about 550 to the wheels, I love it, but I just ordered parts from ford because my vacuum pump went out, which was causing a burning smell to come through the vents, so now in the next few weeks I’ll be replacing the vacuum pump and both valve covers.
I have a 2018 F150 XLT 5.0 with a 4in left and 20s on 35s since 40k miles. I bought this truck brand new and only repair I have had to do is….. Zero! Currently at 95k but she is showing signs something is coming with that throttle body. Regular maintenance only since I got her so far. I will rock her until the wheels fall off. Next truck will be a 2020 or 2021 tundra TRD. But the f150 will still be in the driveway if she is still kicking. I want to see if this truck will go 200k at least.
Beautiful truck, man. I'd probably get thicker rubber, smaller wheel tires, with a bit less of a poke, but then I'm an old gheezer. When I was younger, no doubt, yours is badass. Nice! I'm actually considering a 2025 F150 Platinum or Platinum Plus with the hybrid Powerboost engine, a hybrid of the engine you have here, and then level it maybe a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2" lift and bigger 35" tires on 18" wheels. I hadn't thought of red, but dang, that red with black of yours, awesome! Thanks for the insights too.
100k Awesome Brother! Thanks for the vids! Peace The EcoBoost is the bomb! I am on my third one. If somebody would have told me 10 years ago that my favorite engine would be a six cylinder, i would not have believed it. Now I do😅 I call mine the Eco-Beast🙂
Chillin at 230k on my 15 lariat still looks brand new been debating on getting the tune because of the mileage vs ditching the level and going with a 4 inch lift to help clear my 34s a little better
You should've been using Lucas upper cylinder lubricant, at wallyworld it's cheaper by the gallon & buy some bottles to fill up, it keeps your entire fuel system clean, cold start Q 😊🙏
No I haven’t. Everyone says that but if you see it up close in personal, it definitely has some swirls. I think the previous owner may have done something though.
I can’t find your video any where on your interior Katskinz. I’m looking to go all Red on my All Black Jeep Gladiator Willy’s. I just don’t want to get screwed.
Man 2021 xlt 302 51k miles on im going nuts on driving that out of town no problems but like damn i gotta alot of miles on 5.0v8 scared but i love try driving my bucket around more to keeo miles off
My warning to you. I had a twin “Red” of your truck if you remember, before I was t boned on the highway. Come 120kish that ecoboost’s turbo and the transmission will start to slowly have issues. Will soon then fail.
@@KickinItWithQ Those F150 eco sound good... Even with cats. I have a 22 Tundra, but also 4 cats. Not much sound coming out of the tail pipe even though I muffler deleted it. I might have to go catless ro make the turbos sound louder.
Are those factory headlights? I’m looking into a f150 and some of them have led factory headlights and it seems like some of them don’t so I’m just curious. The truck looks amazing!
Hey, I have a 2020 f150 with 37” 12.50” tires and just replaced wheel bearings. Have you had any problems? Would you rather me ask questions on here or another way?

Red is still looking great! I know you want to step into the diesel world but it would be cool to see you build a new Red as well! I've got 37k miles on my 21 3.5 Ecoboost and it's been trouble free and enjoyable... Or a new Sierra Denali
I’m a be honest man I have been considering like a brand new 24 but I don’t know I just ready to step up like you said but there isn’t a lot of F150 content out there seriously and honestly a lot of people can’t really afford diesel so I don’t know, but I do see some diesel channels do well. Right now it is the diesel for me but we’ll see
@@KickinItWithQ The 24s look great. And if you can hold out until inventory builds up on them later in the year you can probably get a really good deal on one. Got a 16 xlt 5.0 just did a full bds 6 inch lift bds uca and bds recoil traction bars fox shocks on all 4 corners. Rides so nice amd bought it with 30k on the clock now have 44k been a good truck
Nice bro! Hopefully she continues to treat you well
I just found this video as my 15 3.5 just hit 100k…thanks for the review. I previously owned a 15 with 5.0 and it had just as much maintenance as my 3.5 but can’t say that for everyone.
Thanks for the insight bro
98k on my 2017 2.7 bought it at 63k. No issues🤞🏻 regular maintenance, I do 3k oil change intervals since I plan to keep it a long time, done plugs at 30k mile intervals, oil catch can
Nice! If you take care of her, she will take care of you
Yo I got a 2017 Lariat. You got me on the lift. Mine is 3” with Bilstein coils. 22 on 35 nittos. Almost look just like yours just blue. I love it bro!!!
Nice man! Glad you enjoying it
EcoBoost do get a lot crap. Thanks for the update and cheers to another 100K
PS, you forgot to mention the rear camera and APIM, but those aren't issues with EcoBoost.
I was never a "brand" guy, but Ford has earned me as a customer for life
Nice man! Glad she’s treating you well
On your heater if you had to get a new plenum box.
Okay I get it don’t beat on it to hard. Glad you are enjoying your truck. And not bad mpg either
What a beautiful truck...i have a 2023 model i bought 2 days ago but i got it in black...wish i got it in red like this one
Honestly, this in black on my favorite colors, and I think all my trucks will be in one of those two going forward. You can’t go wrong with black
Damn 550 to the wheel. That’s some good stuff bro!
Another awesome video! Love my 2019 3.5. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching man
2016 2.7l 115k I've put 20k on and this thing is fast with stock tune. Saving for a tune now tho I gotta try 1
Nice! 🤝🏾
Just had to replace front wheel bearings on mine. 67k miles been on a 6 inch lift and 35” it’s whole life.
That’s not bad! Cheers to 67k more
I have a 2018 F150 XLT 5.0 with a 4in left and 20s on 35s since 40k miles.
Nice man! Glad she’s treating you well bro and you are enjoying it!
As always the truck looks awesome and that turbo sounded great!!!!
I appreciate it bro. Thanks for continuing to support the channel.
I replaced my blend door actuators inside mine last year. Took about a hour to do both.
Thanks for sharing man
@@KickinItWithQ I’m thinking about sharing my build on RUclips too. Do you like your 6” lift? I’m nervous to lift mine. I’m on a 2.5” level rn.
@DennisDaniels-un3jw yes I love it! Perfect height imo
Nice man! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
This weekend I should be done with my Ram, I uncle and cousin that live in Frisco.I'll catch up to you one day.
🤝🏾
I have a ‘20 f150 with the 3.5. Mostly city driving I get about 18mpg. It’s better than my charger, so I can’t complain.
And we talking about a full size truck! Can’t beat that
I at times pull a 25 sea.hunt game fish boat with my 2018 f150 love my truck Its amazing as a dayley driver bone stock
Nice!
100k
Awesome Brother!
Thanks for the vids!
Peace
The EcoBoost is the bomb!
I am on my third one. If somebody would have told me 10 years ago that my favorite engine would be a six cylinder, i would not have believed it.
Now I do😅
I call mine the Eco-Beast🙂
😂 yeah man they definitely are great trucks Dude! fast and fun to drive
I had a 2014 eco absolutely loved it swapped over to 23 5.0 and I love it too haha but you can not sleep on the eco
Nice! Going from a 14 to 23 is sure is night and day difference
Chillin at 230k on my 15 lariat still looks brand new been debating on getting the tune because of the mileage vs ditching the level and going with a 4 inch lift to help clear my 34s a little better
230k that’s awesome man! Glad u heat she’s still running
That's why I got a 2015 I love the look.
Agreed bro! It’s a very timeless look
I loved my 2015, it was my favorite year
A lot of people who sell them always say the same thing
Im glad you still got big red she lookin good my guy
I appreciate that bro! Thanks for watching and supporting
Thank you. Great looking truck!
Thanks man. I appreciate you watching!
@KickinItWithQ you're welcome
You should've been using Lucas upper cylinder lubricant, at wallyworld it's cheaper by the gallon & buy some bottles to fill up, it keeps your entire fuel system clean, cold start Q 😊🙏
I use seafoam…that the same thing/application?
@KickinItWithQ what's seafoam
@edwinguinyard219 it’s a fuel injector cleaner
Love the sound really good change
Thanks boss! Preciate you watching 🙏🏾
Damn that exhaust is nice. Perfect sound. 🤙 I have a 2008 f-150 with dual exhaust out the back. And 33s on a leveling kit.
Nice
Doing a binge watch on all the eco boost vids lol 🤝 I watch now with different intent.
💯🤝🏾
Back at it again 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Yes sirrr! Preciate you tuning in bro!
Looking clean Q! Have you ever done paint correction or anything? Your paint always seems to be shining!
No I haven’t. Everyone says that but if you see it up close in personal, it definitely has some swirls. I think the previous owner may have done something though.
It must be that ruby red!!
2018 2.7 85,000 still rolling tires and brakes so far .
Nice!!!
2.7 75,000 mile free miles on my 19’ Only had a/c blend door replaced and right front wheel bearing in 5 years.
That’s not bad for five years man those two sevens are pretty reliable
Got a 16. Tows like a champ!
Throttle body replaced at 130k. Easy diy $100. 🤞🏻 No turbo issues yet.
My guy this truck is beautiful! Just picked up a 2020 limited with 20k miles on it Star white. Not gonna lie I’m gonna copy your build bro 😂
😂 already that’s why I share it
The heater is a Ford thing, we had a Mustang and Explorer the heaters went out on both.
Ahhh ok good to know!
I can’t find your video any where on your interior Katskinz. I’m looking to go all Red on my All Black Jeep Gladiator Willy’s. I just don’t want to get screwed.
ruclips.net/video/xsinp1Do9bk/видео.htmlsi=ZDlAT2sWr1HZcfUI
What about cam phasers rattle and timing chain?
Great vid!!!! 👏🏾 I see you got the intro together lol
😂 I had to redeem myself lol and thanks man I appreciate you watching
@@KickinItWithQ pretty dope you respond to your message!!!!!!!!!
Man 2021 xlt 302 51k miles on im going nuts on driving that out of town no problems but like damn i gotta alot of miles on 5.0v8 scared but i love try driving my bucket around more to keeo miles off
I gotcha man that’s what they are made for to be driven so drive it but also understand trying to keep them miles low help with the longevity
My warning to you. I had a twin “Red” of your truck if you remember, before I was t boned on the highway. Come 120kish that ecoboost’s turbo and the transmission will start to slowly have issues. Will soon then fail.
😔 yea I know that day may come
On my second 3.5 EB would'nt have it any other way. The power is always there...........
Indeed 🫡
I need that ford emblem same color
Nice!
Hey Q... I'm back back back!!! With a question. Do you have cats on that thing or is it catless?
I have cats.
@@KickinItWithQ Those F150 eco sound good... Even with cats. I have a 22 Tundra, but also 4 cats. Not much sound coming out of the tail pipe even though I muffler deleted it. I might have to go catless ro make the turbos sound louder.
@alvarolopez630 ahh ok gotcha dang 4 cats seem like a lot lol
@@KickinItWithQ It is brother, I think because of EPA regulations. It makes the turbo sounds coming out of the tail pipe almost none existent.
@alvarolopez630 dang epa lol
The sound is nice
Thanks man
Are those factory headlights? I’m looking into a f150 and some of them have led factory headlights and it seems like some of them don’t so I’m just curious. The truck looks amazing!
Thanks Bro! No they are Morimotos headlights.
The reason on how I decided to get a lifted truck. 🙏🏼
🤝🏾💯 I appreciate that man!
Love the channel! Am i going to see you at music city showdown?
Thanks bro! Probably not man. When is that?
Weekend of may 10th
@ryanmanzotti5717 thanks for the info! I’d definitely love to go
Hey, I have a 2020 f150 with 37” 12.50” tires and just replaced wheel bearings. Have you had any problems? Would you rather me ask questions on here or another way?
@ryanmanzotti5717 I never had any issues with my wheel bearings, bro I honestly just replaced them at the five years just as a preventative measure
Great truck bud keep going until the milk runs out seriously good luck with it for sure
I appreciate bro! Hopefully our time just starting
Just hit 160 on my 2010. 1 motor later...one trans later.. one rear end later...one driveshaft... should i continue. I can still get 60 in 4 seconds on a 6 inch lift. Fbo e30 mpg around 15
Man! You’ve definitely put in some work
@@KickinItWithQ to much. I regret it
Lol
😂
I know you're getting antsy but patience is key bro.
Not much high mileage Ecoboost content out there either so we'll definitely be tuning in for maintenance vids and updates.
@darellhunter2205 are you referring to the diesel or F150?
@@KickinItWithQ the F150... Diesels are just crazy expensive as you mentioned in the video.
I recently bought a 2018 f150 2.7 ecoboost it has 68,000 miles what synthetic oil do you use? Red still looking good .
Thanks bro I run Pennzoil full synthetic oil
5w30?
@JesseF150 yes that’s what my truck requires to make sure yours require the same
15-20 f150s are the cleanest lookin half tons hands down. Idk how I feel about the 21+ I rather stick to the 15 - 20.
They definitely mess with the 21+ the 2024 does look a little better
Badass truck brotha! Just bought a 2015 3.5l with 106k miles on it so hopefully its already had all that shit done to it lol
LOL I hope so man! Congrats on the truck 🤝🏾💯
140k miles my 2018 ecoboost transmission started failing 😞
Dang yea it happens overtime
@@KickinItWithQ got a 2019 5.0 and been loving it. I do miss the ecoboost though, especially after seeing this video. Love the build
@SombreroEd thanks man! The ecoboost definitely are quick
Good lookin F-150 Q . Are you going any higher as far as lift and tires?
Thanks man and no this is the biggest and highest I’m going with this truck. This truck is about 99% complete. I want to start a new build soon.
2014 3.5 183,000. So has your mind changed about the ecoboost engine since your last review video on the engine?
Yea man for sure. Last time the issues were hitting me back to back so I got frustrated.👍🏾
We gotta link you bro. One day could be tomorrow 💪🏿
You in DFW?
Just started having rust bubbles on my truck 😭
Ahh dang.. where at?
@@KickinItWithQ right above the wheel well in the back both sides
@@brycebowman7062 dang..sorry bro
Would extended warranty have covered a lot of your repairs?
Not sure honestly
Switch the game up on these boys. GRAB a Old school. 64 Impala ss 🤔
Haha one day we go have trucks cars and bikes on the Chanel
2015 is the best looking F-150 from the production line!
🙌🏾🙌🏾 agreed
Hey Q ! Iam having a problem with my cargo and 3rd brake lights keep flashing even after I shut them off any ideas?
Sorry man I don’t have any ideas what they could be I haven’t had that issue before
2018 3.5 eco. 87,000 miles no problem
Nice! 🤝🏾💯 hope she keeps treating you well bro
I've noticed the past couple of times I've floored it my check engine light comes on. Goes off in about 5-10 minutes, but weird right? Turbos?
Or spark plugs and boots 🔌
I just hit 200k but I got a 3.7. It’s a 2014. It’s slow😂 only 302 horse power. Only replace 3 things.
Hey man, I will say that’s pretty reliable!
