It’s always fun to see Michelle. It’s so obvious she is crazy about Paul. Further, miss you Ben. I hope you’ve got the sun to your face and the wind to your back. Stay awesome.
You’ll either have to make an extension to raise the radiator cap up on the radiator higher than the top hose, or you'll need to add an inline fill point in the middle of the top radiator hose or its going to be a pain to get all the air out of that system.
Set it up with the coolant res tank as the high point. GM did it on the LS and Duramax engines. Ford setup the 6.0 with the res tank higher than the intake.
Shaun is like Randal on speed. Like a sloth on speed. Shaun is the type of guy who just plows forward, every shop needs a Shaun. But speeking of Randal how about an update on the guy? Even a sit down during a visit or something. Have a good day Fab Rats.
Nice to see "Name That Part w/Michelle" again. She always makes for a fun video...and great progress on the rollback. I know the shop cat has a good life, but, with all the folks at FabRats, Paul has it pretty sweet too...
To counter the small inter cooler, you need to have the turbo inlet drawing air from outside the engine bay. That way you have a lower intake air temp pre turbo. It will make a huge difference on EGT’s
It's weird with not having Ben around!! I hope Ben gets bored and comes back a couple days a week!! Ben is going to be missed! Now it's time for Shawn to shine!
@@steventurner6385seeing all the stuff that goes around at Ben's place i really understand the struggle. Hoping for some fun colabs with Ben in the future! If its a build together, or a offroad wheelin' trip with the family doesn't matter really!
Great to see Michelle on video. Btw, whoever is editing knocked it outta the park on this one. Hunter & Sean both have such great chemistry with Paul. Love this truck build!
You’ll have to extend the cap/filler on the radiator higher than the hose fitting or you’ll have air locks in that top hose. You need the cap as the highest point in the system to bleed air

So glad you are back on this awesome truck Paul, and sorry to see your brother go, but hard decisions in life have to be made at times and it sounds like he made that decision for all the right reasons, family. And that pleases the Lord, so, now it is time to get that awesome diesel set of wheels set-up proper and on the road! 👍
Paul now this is the kind of video I like to watch. You set goals on a project and made progress. (How I do most things) As always awesome content, and keep up the hard and good work.

Yes Ben is being missed, but Sean and Paul shall persevere. Good to see Michelle stopping by the Shop. Things are coming together on this off road rollback.
Hunters filming is approaching the cinematography level. Nice camera angles and creative approach. Please understand that I have no cinematography experience to draw from. But I really what he is doing.
Have ever thought about putting a welding helmet over the camera to show more than a bright light when your welding? Not every time but once in a while. It's a neat process to see.
I’ve been missing “name that part” Michelle and grandma are both more mechanically inclined than they lead on to be! Can’t wait to see her jeepster ripping around too!
Paul try using Tapmatic Edge cutting lubricant on aluminum its a wax like lube that works great on everything with no mess even put it on your cutoff disk its AWESOME stuff for cutting, drilling ,routing grinding.sanding and of course tapping.
Awesome so far! Here's a possible idea, mound the inner-cooler horizontally above the engine and add louvers to your hood for fresh air. Could even mount fan(s) and ducting for forced air
Now, all you need to add to the layers of heat exchangers is an oil cooler and then you'll a sandwich of 4 radiators: engine radiator, air conditioning condenser, oil cooler, and intercooler for the air intake.
You're not wrong when it comes to the track, but this is off-roading; like, long-term in the desert. Plus, the air to water adds a level of complexity and cost that most people aren't gonna want to incur.
@@mattsez2879 the 6.7 fords use air to water. My brothers Jeep has a supercharger on it too and has the same setup. It has its own radiator and coolant pump and has quite the supply of coolant to keep it cool. The drag racing water to air setup definitely won’t work.
A lot of people run water to air intercooler i offroad cars. But mess up by running it with water from the engine cooling system. You need to have a own radiator and a separate water pump for it. So much difference in air temp that way 😉
Paul, what do you think about an air to water intercooler? I think you could fit that into the engine bay a lot better. Edit: I wrote this before you made your comment about the air to water.

Technically, Michelle nailed it. The title said "Name that part" not "Identify that part". Michelle gave every part a name :-)
By golly, you're right. Nice one !!
Technically correct, the best kind of correct.
You're not wrong 😂
All she has to do is say "heat exchanger" and she's got all the stuff with fins up front covered.
only the parts can identify themselves. it may identify as an intercooler today and a drive belt tomorrow. dont be transmission phobic

Yes Sir, you rrrright.

Good point. Or have another way/place to bleed it. Like a valve.
It would be as easy as cutting the top hose in half at its highest point and putting an inline filler neck in it.

Your gonna want the flare on the intercooler tube to be anywhere you have a rubber boot, otherwise the intercooler tube will constantly blow off.
Or a few 1 inch welds around the end for the clamp to catch.
