Let's Play realMYST - Part 33 of 34

- In this video, I claim to show all the Easter Eggs hidden inside the crystal viewer. While I do show most of the ones Spyder hinted about, there are a bunch more that he never mentioned. Instead, someone had to hack the resource files to reveal these:
web.archive.org/web/201508100...
I also had to cycle through the Face Egg rather quickly because one mistake, including waiting too long, ruins the sequence. As far as I know, there's no way to bring it back. But you have the pause button in case you want to examine any of the pictures more closely. :)

I actually gave up trying to get the Easter Eggs to work on Rime, so I've never seen these! Thanks so much for posting this in addition to your regular Let's Play.
2:26
That music is fantastic and so is the gasping. This is my favorite easter egg. Perfect blend of sounds there.
7:45
lol, damn. "Baked potato age" makes me hungry. It really does bear a striking resemblance. It's pretty cool being able to edit something like that. (reddish... bacon bits, of course)
Dude that gass easter egg is just super creepy
AHH! youve done a great job. i like lets plays with a narrator....and youve pointed out things i wouldve never noticed. cant wait for the last vid, hope you do another series for myst 3, 4, and 5. keep it real!
i just got this game for the nintindo ds, and in the biginning i had no clue what to do. but i watched your vid's and helped me a lot. i was able to unders stand this game"puzzle" but i had to much fun playing along with your commentery. if it was just a vid on solving this game i would have just solved the rest once i got started. but listning to how you were going about it just made the game even more fun to play along. thank you for a great video's.
I find it amusing that I'm watching this on Easter.
Well, don't be surprised when you see a flurry of King's Quest VII videos posted shortly after this project is done. It's not a commentary LP or anything, just a straight walkthrough. More importantly, it was comparatively easy to make and it's already done so it will be posted fairly quickly. Just saying it's not a six-month project or anything so don't worry.
The only place left with Easter Eggs is Myst Island itself, unless you want to count the hanging skeleton on the Mechanical Age and the Rush Limbaugh clip on Channelwood. But I've already shown those so we won't be going anywhere else besides Myst.
I think changing the crystals does change the age, since like you you changed the water level it didn't instantly go down, it drained. The only way I can see if it does show view into similar ages is if it was cycling through ages with less and less water while it went to the one you selected.
Cant wait to see the rest of the ages.
i hate waiting for new episodes! my favorite let's play!
lol a pic of a girl dressed as a Jedi in the crystal viewer (Yum Ven Tasak?)
hooray for Easter eggs!! thanks for sharing!
I could probably use a little break, so I don't know.
I have a technical bug to work out as well. I recently discovered to my horror that my original test video for Exile didn't show the whole picture. While most of the game records under Fraps, large motion pictures that take up the whole screen (such as the intro and other cutscenes) don't record.
8:10 Thank you Shadyparadox for pimpin' my age!
I'm tempted to make an avatar of that face shown at 6:12. It is simply both akward and hilarious to look at.
I didn't expect the "Gas" breath...that was kinda creepy...
5:25
wheezy waiter!
some of that easter egg sound reminded me of an old NES game shadowgate.
That sound is scary at 2:28.
Is it possible to view Spire and Haven from this crystal viewer?
Perhaps you switched to an Age that, at that very moment, was experiencing a catastrophic change in water level.
And cancel a project I've already promised to dozens? Never!
I'm recording a playthrough of realMyst to make a Mind series. I'm having some technical difficulties, though.
Wallafuck wuth these scary pics 0-0
So know we know that we are an old Man who plays too many Retro video games...
@Torqegood Well, the journal upstairs says they do not. I don't know about you, but I would trust Atrus.
I understand where you're coming from though. If no Age is actually changing, then you would expect to see an instant or faded change from one to the other, as opposed to all possible states in between.
I don't think that gas Easter egg works in realMyst Masterpiece edition. It's not working for me.
Yeah, that version has a different set of eggs.
@thedorkinabubble Well maybe the breathing was The Stranger's, struggling for air... but for some reason he didn't die... Umm...
When somebody uploads a video or game asking you to concentrate very carefully on something. Right when you are allegedly concentrated the most, it has a creepy picture with somebody screaming. Designed to scare you and commonly found in online maze games, makes for a great embarrassing video.
That first face picture reminds me of something from Doctor Who.
edusuntrebor hello sweetie.
You put yourself in a closed-room with a gas leak.
...yeah, I see nothing wrong with that. But in all honesty, I'm a little cold from the blizzard outside. I'm turning the furnace back on.
*Ignites the furnace*
[[GAS EXPLOSION]]
Are you going to do Riven next or..?
Do you have a walk through of Riven? o_O
GalaxyJazzGirl no. I suggest watching either J.B. Lewis or Dilandau3000. Their walkthroughs of Riven are very informative and entertaining.
What did you use to record these series of videos?
@neoryan2 Yeah! I thought we had actually killed the Stranger for a second *cringes*
I can't get the gas thing to work
The Cake is a Lie!! lol
the CyanEgg doesn't work for me :S i don't know why
Nighty :)
Ha! No, I hate those.
i play the original. when i saw the rive (with crystal) the game ende O_O

Yeah, that's what I meant. Sorry, brain lapse.
