Can I just say how happy I am that you listened to this album and gave it a reaction without speeding up songs through the editing process. It drives me bonkers when I watch other reactors listen to an entire album, but speed it up while editing. So kudos for that!
I'm a die-hard TOOL fan, and I personally give this an 8/10 overall. However, there are certain songs that I give 10/10. Pneuma, Invincible, Descending... All masterpieces. ✌️

At least once or twice, I've seen a comment on RUclips that it was worth the 13 year wait, just for Invincible. I would say the same of Descending, personally.

Damn, I missed this stream. But yeah, I think this album is a masterpiece. Everything they did in their career prepared them for this. You can hear all the elements of what makes them great in every song co-existing and working really well together. Since you heard the album (hoping you finished listening after the shutdown), I recommend checking out the drum cam video of Pneuma. It really displays why Danny Carey is such a beast of a drummer and why he works so well for them and the music. Don't worry, there are a bunch of reactions to it already, so they don't appear to be claiming it.
Invincible truly is musical and sonic artistry at its finest. Your review resonates with all of us at some stage of our lives.
Im a stoic man. Only two things in this world can make me cry: my baby daughter, and listening to Tool.
Can't believe this album has been out for about 4 years.
I still dig this one about as much as their other material. Not as heavy, and not as much energy, but the stuff still hits me about as hard as their other stuff.
One of the best concerts I ever went to was Tool. What a talented band.

Here is my rather unpopular tool ranking. None of their albums are bad, though, and I truly don’t get the hate for FI. It was exactly the album I was hoping for, and in the long term, could end up being their magnum opus.

Fear is definitely their magnum opus. Everything was a spectacular ride until you get to the last 2 tracks.
I think descending was the end of the album. Culling voices and Tempest felt like bonus tracks.
I really started appreciating this album one day when I had it on loop play. It's as seamless of an artistic whole as anything Pink Floyd ever did.
Except pink Floyd had a ton of garbage albums... Like alot
Pink Floyd is often my go to reference when making Tool comparisons! Glad I am not the only one to see it!

Of this album, Descending gives me life. I love the whole album, but this song is something else to me. ❤
This album came out not too long before COVID. And it's weird, it almost inoculated me to all the lies of the media and made me understand the darkness that enveloped the world.

Bro youre the first person to put to words something I've felt about this album. Don't get it twisted, i love this album...but you described it as too "clean" and i never thought it was because of the digital era of production maybe. I kept telling my buddies the album sounded "hollow" sometimes and didn't have that PUNCH that alot of their previous albums have. But I think were describing the same thing. But again, I LOVE this album. Just took some adjusting to

I'veseen the FI tour 7 times. It's immaculate live. Also, Pneuma, Invincible snd Descending are three of the best songs ever written.
I put this album somewhere near their pinnacle. I hope they have more in the future but this seems to be them at their best!
It’s too hard to rank anything from them on any given day. Right now today I think my album ranking is 10000 days, FI, Lateralus, Undertow, Aenima, then the EP. Also, I had to hold a gun to my own head to commit to a list.

I graduated in '94 and really liked Undertow. Aenema came out and i totally lost interest in Tool. Then about 2 - 3 years ago i discovered Fear Inoculum, 10,000 Days, and Lateralus and realized this band got better with age. Saw them live last year for the first time and it was one of the best shows I'd ever been to. These guys are cold. Thank you! Love the channel so much!

Inoculum twice then shelved it For a year. Then started listening to them again discovering the last 3 albums finally. Mind blown and so happy for the belated gifts!! Simply amazing and life changing. I’ve seen them three times live…spanning 30 some years.

I have been a Tool fan since 1993. This is for me, their best album. Many will say it is just a new 10,000 Days, which get, but for me, this is them PERFECTING what they were doing in 10,000. This is nearly a Magnum Opus for them.

You can clearly tell that the band tool is heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, which is totally awesome. This is a new kind of music continuing on from legends into a new legend band. This album is perfection. This song is the best it is so spiritual, especially under the influence, be put you into another world instantly.

I love tool and have seen then 10 plus times but when this albumn came out I hated it it's growing on me but I still don't love it like I do all the other albumns maybe in time it will it just feels forced to me

@@uncletaco916 the reason I say forced is because is because alot of it sounds like individual parts of each member and the songs just don't flow together like other albumns and there are so many pieces of music and exact same riffs from their other albumns reproduced onthis one

Fair enough but it really is good. Just not quite as good as Lateralus, 10000 days, and AEnima...but it is really good. Some of Adam and Dannny's best work.
