    I have received lots of comments regarding the Stanley 24/7 Security padlock and its effectiveness against my large 42 inch bolt cutters.
    The Stanley 24/7 60 mm Security padlock has been regarded as the "worlds toughest padlock" or the go-to padlock for securing motorcycles and ATV's.

    Now cut that same lock same chain ON A GATE with the chain about 4 to 5 ft up! Try and muster up the strength required! Bet you cant do it! You done this on the ground with your weight bouncing up and down.

    👍Good test!....Going by the force needed to cut through it,meaning bouncing your weight on top the cutter...surely if the padlock was higher up at about chest height it would take immense strength from Arms like tree trunks to cut through it?!👍

    Molybdenum shanks are quite hard but not as hard as Boron. Has that shackle been made from Boron you may have damaged your bolt croppers. You wouldn't have cut through it. Stanley should really have used a Boron shackle. I own four Abloy padlocks all with Boron shackles the PL362 being the thickest at 15mm. Abus has a strong padlock the 83CS80 also bolt cropper proof. Anyway, great video showing how a bit of brute force can shear a moly shackle and hence these types should be avoided. 😁😋💨🙃

      Good video and happy Thanksgiving to you too. Good job dispelling such lock myths one at a time. I knew that lock would not survive those cutters, is a shame there is so much misinformation out there on that lock (and others) boasting how good it is when it is merely OK.
      Keep moving up the padlock quality ladder, and you will certainly find locks that those 42" bolt cutters will not work on.

    Do you have a hardness testing file set? Would've loved to have seen how hard that shackle was. Bosnian Bill on episode 910 said "Brinell 63" which I think he meant to say Rockwell 63. And Wayne Winton seems to think these padlocks are tough. Yet you seemed to have cut through it as if the shackle wasn't even hardened. Most hard shackles tend to explode yet your were just pinched like mild steel.

    • @Brute4rce1111
      @Brute4rce1111  4 года назад +4

      Unfortunately, I do not own any type of hardness testing kit. However, I ran the pieces against a file and I can tell you for sure the file skated right off of it. The shackle pieces also have that distinctive looking grain structure usually associated with hardened steel. Don't get me wrong, this is a great padlock for it's price for some things, but I would never recommend it as a tough motorcycle lock.

    Just returning to this video as it's quite an exposé! The shackle isn't 60mm Brute4rce, that's the space between the shackle! I estimate the shackle diameter to be about 10 or 11mm. Please don't claim that this is the worlds toughest padlock because there are plenty of padlocks out there at the time this video was made that are FAR FAR stronger than this lock like the Abloy PL362 or the Squire stronghold SS80 and today we have the SS100CS. You even proved this by mentioning that it's not even the highest security rating that Stanley has so it can't be THE "WORLDS TOUGHEST PADLOCK" can it?!
