One of the greatest Funk bands ever! One of the "IT" groups back in the 80s! Y'all really need to check out many of Kool & the Gangs hit songs: Ladies Night, Mislead, Joanna, You can have it (If you want it), Get down on it, celebration, cherish (The Love), Fresh, and Ooh la la la among others

I'm a diehard metal head and I love me some Kool & the Gang! 1980 was a truly epic year for pop music. I don't know if I think that because that was when I started listening to the radio on a daily basis but many good memories for me attached to that time.
I was fortunate enough to see Kool and the Gang. I miss groups like this. They opened for Van Halen! Now that was a concert!

Too hot reached number 5# on the singles pop charts & put everybody on notice they were Gonna be one of the hottest R&B groups of the 1980s.They did a smooth transition From more of a seventy's funk / jazz to Eighties synthesizer Sound

I always felt like Kool & The Gang were the cousins of Earth Wind & Fire. They’re both funky, jazzy and their ballads were gorgeous. Both had me dancin’ and skatin’ my bootay off 💃🏼🪩🛼🛼 Some of THE BEST music of the 70’s and 80’s. 🩶🩶

To anyone who was at the Moseley Jazz festival last Sunday and saw them performing this.....the England V Spain Euro final was on the big screen across the park. I left the big screen at half time to go to the main stage to watch Kool and the Gang and not watch the second half and I made the right choice- England could have been in the World Cup Final and as a football fanatic I would have made the same choice.

This is suburban school mom, book club, top 40 Kool And The Gang. I prefer the earlier, ultra funky, horn laden, urban Kool And The Gang. They probably made a boatload more money by going the easy listening path but this Kool And The Gang isn't my Kool And The Gang.
