This is a really insightful video. I struggle with OCD and GAD and sleep is now just something I am aware of and constantly keep track of. I never used to care about it. I keep comparing my sleep / my anxiety now to what it used to be like and trying to reach that perfectionism when even in the past it was never perfect. I don't know why I care so much now, it's really tough to forget about it once you have gone through insomnia hell. Thank you for your wisdom, please keep it going!

This is so incredibly helpful and just what I needed to hear. I am pregnant and got so fixated on my health and needing 8 hours that I ended at the hospital due to severe panic attacks after 72 hours up (due to obsessing about how "I need to sleep" "good sleep is health " "why am I not sleeping yet") and all resources I found until now made it worse, exactly as you said its all about listing things you must do correctly in order to get good sleep which its supposedly so essential. I feel so tense and guilty when everywhere everyone is hammering down about importance of 8 hours and consequences if you don't achieve it. First time in weeks I feel some relief listening to this, almost wanna cry. God bless you

The blue light thing is interesting. I watch RUclips on my phone every night when I lay down to go to bed and it never effects me lol I watch it for usually around 15 minutes and I’m out 😴😴😴

I think you’re spot on with just the whole acceptance thing it’s the hardest thing for the mind to just accepting whatever not sleeping, your life situation discomfort aging sickness and death I got sleep apnea and I think sleep industry is kinda racket. I mean the whole medical industry is basically profiting on keeping people alive no matter how shitty their quality of life is.

This was the comment I was searching for. One of the requirements for my job is driving(sometimes 8 or more hours In One siting) I also have people that work for me and they rely on me for income. My fear is not sleeping and going crazy in front of my employees and/having to hide panic attacks all day. I’m a performer on stage too so the spotlight makes this all so much worse for me in my mind. I really wish I could work from home but I can’t. Guess I gotta go somehow but I’d hate to hurt someone else in the process via an accident or on stage in front of people.

You can’t go psycho from not sleeping. you’ll sleep before you do. it’s the anxiety that you have that turns into psychosis.
