Other midwest emo bands that came out way before Modern Baseball are The Get Up Kids, Cap'n Jazz, Rainer Maria, Cursive, Mineral, etc. And all of those bands are actually from the midwest (besides Cursive). Now if you're saying Modern Baseball popularized it in more modern times, that's still wrong. Because Into It. Over It, Camping in Alaska, and Snowing were notable midwest emo bands from a few years before Modern Baseball came around.
That is a scream of a person working 70 hour work week in a restaurant and the straw that broke them was the false alarm "moldy food" sent back over a green onion.
Midwest, 2nd wave, post-emo indie rock (Mineral, SDRE, Boy's Life, Christie Front Drive, American Football, Indian Summer, Jejune, Hey Mercedes, etc) was the absolute best.
