    When the 3840 x 1600 OLEDs start appearing, then you have my attention.

      Yep 1440P with its relatively low DPI and its stupidly aggressive curve are deal breakers for me, probably could have lived with one or the other but not two annoyances on an expensive display.

    I bought the 34", and while it looked amazing, it just felt a little too small so I exchanged it for the 39.
    I always worried about PPI as the internet is full of views, but until you have one you quickly realise it's not an issue.
    I sit 80 cms away, office work during the day and gaming at night - both scenarios are fine.
    The 39" is more immersive than the 34 and for me, it was a far better overall experience

Honestly i do see the PPI issue, but it's clear enough for me to read. Matte vs glossy, I'd say this matte is not as bad as others, not so aggressive but i love both monitors and will be keeping both.

    Hi @firewolftech! I’m in desperate need of your help on something with this monitor. I’m unable to select 10-bit color over hdmi - only when using DP with DSC, or if I I go down to 144hz on hdmi. I’m using a 4080 and have tried multiple cables. Am I missing something here, or is this monitor not capable of selecting 240hz 10-bit over in NVidia control panel? Lg support has been no help in this matter and I’m trying to figure out if my unit is defective. PLEASE HELP!
    Update: I noticed that NVCP panel will keep crashing or show a blank box for color depth after changing to 240hz. But interestingly, I noticed that I use “default color settings”, it defaults to 10-bit in windows. Does this mean that I’m in “limited” color range now? I’m also wondering if this is an issue with compatibility in NVCP panel. I got warning messages that my monitor was in unsupported 2160p, and games would close to windows shortly after. This maybe worth additional commentary for your review if you have similar findings. Looking forward to any advice :)

    Ever since I started searching for a monitor for the first time in my life, all i hear is PPI This PPI that.

    • @FIREWOLFTECH
      @FIREWOLFTECH  2 месяца назад +2

      For me, PPI is important since the higher the number, the more detailed and sharp it looks. It doesn’t play a huge role in gaming, but in everything else, PPI is noticeable.
      For example, let’s say you’ve been using a 32-inch 4K monitor (138 PPI) for a while and you replace it with this 39” 3440 x 1440 (96 PPI). The difference is pretty huge between the two, and you might be immediately turned off since you’ve been accustomed to a higher pixel density.

    Hey bro, do u think this is worth upgrading from my 38 inch 1600p LG? I’m eager to move to oled. I have a 4080 pc and I’m pretty much maxing out 1600p 144hz so 240hz 1440p wouldn’t be a problem. Only thing I’m worried about is the PPI + text clarity for productivity.

    • @FIREWOLFTECH
      @FIREWOLFTECH  3 месяца назад

      That’s a tough one, the PPI + Text Clarity is going to be worse, especially when it’s 3440 x 1440 vs 3840 x 1600.
      Eventually you’ll adjust, and at that point it’s up to you if you think it’s good enough.
      I feel like a 49-inch OLED monitor would be better because it would be 5120x1440 😅

      Compared to a glossier screen, the matte coating in my eyes look a little fuzzy. From a 34-inch QD-OLED to a 34-inch 34GS95QE (which I also reviewed and has the same panel) it has that effect which is noticeable if you were to put a whole screen white. Maybe I'm describing it wrong lol

      @@miltona891 it’s been great. it’s got me wanting to get a second one but smaller. i’ll probably be getting the smaller 32” to go above the 39” soon.

      These wallpapers are from Wallpaper Engine which you could get from Steam. It’s a few dollars but worth it since you get access to thousands of wallpapers

    Do you think this LG 39” is a worthy upgrade over my Alienware AW3423DW?

    • @FIREWOLFTECH
      @FIREWOLFTECH  5 месяцев назад +3

      It’s a tough answer.
      On one end you get a nicer and brighter OLED display, a larger screen, and faster Refresh Rate which will feel like a worthy upgrade;
      But on the other end
      You’re getting same resolution which means less PPI and you lose the gloss for matte finish.
      If you’re primarily gaming, it’s a nice upgrade, for everything else, it’s a little mixed.

      @FrankJackson I am in the same situation as u. Coming from a aw3423dwf > aw2725df >aw3225qf > back to aw2725df just because the 32 inch 4k is too big for my desk. I am in Asia and there is no 240hz oled ultrawide..the only one is the Asus pg34wcdm which is out of stock too.
      I could go back to the DWF but...its like I am wasting my time changing monitors. So I am waiting for a 240hz ultrawide preferably 34 inch as that is the sweet spot. Not too big for my desk.

      Appreciate both responses. I saw the monitor at Best Buy and the immersion blew me away. That PPI suffers but doable. I can get one for about $800 but still in the fence since I have my AW34. 34 is that sweet spot but that curvature on this monitor is just sweet.

      @@jamesmadison3108I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting. I want it now lol. I hope AW comes out with a new 34” with at least 240hz and decent PPI like the current.
      With Razor dropping its new 16” laptop with 240hz I know these new monitors are coming.

    matte display is a turn off. why can't they make the screen like their g3's and c3s?

    Matte screen 🤮🤮🤮🤮. You have to be out of your mind to be buying OLED with a matte finish. It’s like buying a Ferrari with a Honda Civic engine, yeah it doesn’t make sense!!

      A matte finish makes it easier to use in daylight and bright setups without glare. Some people don’t like seeing their own reflections or background with glossy displays. There’s pros and cons, but for most, matte makes the most sense

    Yup, the matte coating is an automatic no for me. A pity they ruined another otherwise great monitor with it. If they ever bring out a glossy version I'll be first in line, until then I wont even consider it.

    Thinking about upgrading to that monitor, currently i got an 34" HP X34 which is great but only ips and 165hz. I feel that i might miss something haha, scared about burn in tho i want to use my monitor for at least 5 years.
