    Haha what crazy timing! I just bought the 34 inch version of this exact monitor because it was on sale for 749. Unfortunately, I decided to return it today for 2 reasons. The matte coating just had a weird visual look to it that I didn't care for, but more importantly the 800R curve was a bit too drastic for me at 34 inches. However, i bet it would be much more acceptable at 39 inches! I've been using an LG 34 inch monitor for a couple years but it's IPS and 1800R curve. The response times were incredible on that OLED though! I'll be waiting a bit longer for OLED, but I can't wait! I'll probably go a bit larger like yours. Hope you enjoy Froggy!

      I currently have a 34 inch ultrwide IPS LG monitor also. I'm very happy with it and looking to upgrade to oled in a couple years when the tech is finally where I want it to be. If only LG could make a OLED 34-38" ultra wide monitor with a light curve 1600-1800r and fully gsync compatible with no visual issues, like smearing or distortion. The day that monitor drops I'll be there day one.

      I felt the opposite tbh. 800R curve is just incredible for immersion, especially in single player or racing games. 1800R curve just feels like you’re missing half the experience of ultrawide

    I just got mine, and up against my 42” LG C3, quality is almost the same. I’d even go as far as to say the C3 has a softer image. Like, yeah, if I really glue my eye to the screen I might notice it’s 1440p, but really, the visuals are fantastic. Sad that so many would not even try this beautiful beast of a monitor because they think it’s low res.

    I really enjoy ultrawide, it's a bit easier to run than 4k and it's really immersive, great for single player adventure games and awesome for racing games! I feel that you are starting to see how PC gaming can easily become a never ending cycle of consumption once you addicted to it! You will always find something you want to upgrade, but a least you have a tech related yt channel so you can make content about it unlike me ! My next upgrade will probably be a Oled TV for the console/watching films, because once you go OLED you can't go back

      @@jimtepedino9295 Why not? I'm not planning to buy this particular model, but VRR flicker is supposed to be there on all OLEDs. Playing games at high fps is preferable, but modern games (especially at higher resolutions without upacaling + RT/PT) are very demanding, so having the ability to play at 40-60fps without severe input lag (VRR eliminate Vsync input lag) is great, at least for me.
      I have now read that VRR OLED flicker can be reduced / eliminated by changing the VRR range from 48-240Hz to 82-240Hz. That sounds promising.

    Coming from CRT and Plasma TVs, I always hated LCD technology because the poor blacks and contrast ruined the immersion. • @fattyusmcchubbs9200
    @fattyusmcchubbs9200 2 месяца назад

    Holy shit I have the 27" version of this and it is night and day from IPS. The HDR colors and contrast with the perfect blacks are a chef's kiss. You will need to calibrate it on windows to get the right black levels. HDR won't look right on windows unless you have it calibrated with the right ICC color profile. HDR will typically looked washed out with a strong reddish hue uncalibrated. I have one that converts windows SRGB to Gama 2.2 and everything is perfect with it. I just use a calibrated windows auto HDR and ignore the HDR option in games.

      I'm also considering this monitor because the higher pixel density allows for good CRT phosphor emulation (for retro games) and also improves text clarity, but I'm concerned about VRR flicker. Is it really as bad as they say? On my current M27QP (IPS LCD) monitor VRR works perfectly and thanks to it even 30-50fps games are much more responsive, so I cant imagine gaming without it.

    I have love hate with ultrawide 😅
    I love ultrawide in a game that supports it as it does add to the immersion.
    The 1440p part of it is what i struggle with compared to 4k when it uses not far off the same resources..
    Im gonna guess you like 1440p on your 27" monitor as that has a pixel density of 108.
    The 39" Ultrawide will have a density of 95 and your 42" 4k will have a density of 104.
    I already had a 4k 27" with a density of 163, so the ultrawide although i love the 21.9 felt a little dissapointing.
    As long as you stay away from a 4k monitor im sure youll love it, although you will probably need to run mods to make it work in non supported games.
