Hi. Thanks for your video update and the comedy relief.
I bought 6 of these Orbit 56805 (Precision?) Heads. One of them previously in a used condition. They are JUNK!!!
The adjustment is pretty self explanatory and easy to follow. I ended up having to return 5 out of 6 for several reasons. Reasons from bad leakages at the heads or under the heads. During the adjustment of each one of the spray knobs they would just keep turning or strip easily. There is no hard stop to prevent this from happening. Other heads after adjusting them, setting their rotation radius' and running them for about 5 to 10 minutes I noticed that the smooth rotation turned into a skip/stop rotation. A couple of the other heads just got stuck in some position or other after 2-3 full 360 turns and then not completing their 360 rotations at all. They are JUNK!!!
I love the concept but they should really try making them out of better materials. Also, redesign the spray nozzles so don't get stripped easily during the initial and novices' learning phase.
Orbit please redesign these to stop the leaking all over the place underneath the heads, too. I'd seriously consider trying a revision if they ever went back to that, but not this release again. Also, I did keep the used one that was the only 1 that was somewhat decent working, but it still does leak all over the place.

I am actually about to design a CNC irrigator that allows you to use a smartphone application to direct a tripod irrigator stream exactly where you want it for as long as you want it, thereby implementing a precise irrigation plan for up to an 80'X80' garden. Computer Numerical Control for sprinkler irrigation.
Every other option--soaker hoses, drip irrigation, impact sprinklers, oscillating sprinklers, underground irrigation, olla pots, traveling sprinklers, hand watering--has at least one major limitation, and usually two or three. The ideal solution is to mechanically reproduce the labor of hand watering the plants using simple hardware that can be quickly installed at just one point in the center of the garden.

Turns out there are already high-tech options on the market that do exactly what I described, but they are expensive, complicated and unsuitable for use in a mission critical situation like grid-down farming.
I wound up designing and building a bunch of "parasol" irrigators that have a service life of 50 years and no maintenance requirements. I have an animation on my channel that shows how they work.
I've been using one in the front yard all summer and it works great. I think the bad reviews are 1) People not reading the directions. 2) People being rough with them, pushing the stops too hard or turning the knobs until they break. They are built down to a price. They work well if used properly.

Pretty sure that's why it has so many sketchy ass reviews on Amazon and such. I think a lot of folks buy the thing, and do the same thing you did by doing the adjustments on the wrong side. I suck as far as being impatient and not bothering to read the instructions. I'm sure I'd have done the same thing you did...and probably got as annoyed as you and everyone else seems to be with it. Thanks for revisiting it. I got a weird ass shaped lawn, so I think I'm going to order one and give it a try.

Love your channel! Now, I’ve read many bad reviews on multiple forums on this sprinkler. Ok, maybe some were operator-error. But how’s your experience been over time? Still working and Still recommend it?
This product is amazing!!! Definitely more pros than cons. I do recommend for people that have a drive ways and other structures they don’t want wet. It distributes a good amount of water. The only this to watch out for is the minimum distance. If you have it too close to the sidewalks it will get wet. I’m glad I did a revisit.
@@ALWAYSOCCUPIEDTV Oh, now that’s excellent news to get from you. I have a small, irregular patch of lawn in the shape of Nevada. My current staked-sprinklers cant reach the lower corner unless I let it waste water on the patio.

This one sprinkler has replaced the six spiked sprinklers I had set around the perimeter of my odd shaped grass and they still couldn’t hit all the spots. I too, would highly recommend it and for only $24 too! Good job on your part for the demonstration!
Awesome idea but they are junk. The stops break easily... like really easily. They also leak and the plastic spikes bend and break. They are just not made well. The adjustable pattern is amazing. I love it. It's just bo-jankety. Of the five I bought last year I think 2 of them still kind of work. The crazy thing is I can't find another spike sprinkler that does what they do.
I've been looking for this sprinkler everywhere! Does anyone have a link to purchase it? It seems to be out of stock at Lowes and Amazon. And the orbit website only has it shipping to Canada.

I don't believe you can buy replacement parts. It might be cheaper to buy another sprinkler.

Yes, you can attach a 2nd hose but keep in mind you will lose pressure

@@ALWAYSOCCUPIEDTV Hey thats great, I found some cheap spiked 360 sprinklers that I'm trying to setup today. They do not get the advertised range, but at least my lawn will get some water.

The crazy part is that Amazon doesn't have it anymore. It used to be in Lowe's for years! No other company makes one like this.
