Cadillac SRX intermittent starting issue

2004 Cadillac SRX occasionally goes in some kind of anti-theft mode which disallows the car from starting and this allows one to remove the key once it has been inserted and turned. This is a very inexpensive work around.

Pretty darn smart. It’s the ecm btw, the memory block involving the theft system get corrupted due to the ECM being mounted onto the engine block. Heat.

Would that cause the battery to drain also?
