I was already watching RUclips videos on how to replace my fuel pump. Turns out it was just a bad relay. Thank God I found your video before I tore my whole truck apart. Also, I appreciated your suggestion on just switching one of the relays with another relay in the same box, because I did not have one around the house, but I was able to do that and confirm no problem
Thank you very much, Your video saved my a**. I was putting in an auxiliary fuse box in my 4runner, I took the inj. fuse out looking for power and forget to put it back in. After watching your video I walk out to my car and found the problem, fixed it and was on my way.
Great video! Mine wasn't that issue... Just to get the info out there... My 2001 sequoia recently stopped running, seemed like it was a fuel starvation issue... bad fuel pump... but it was not... then things seemed to indicate an ECU issue, but it was not... Finally after hours and hours over a few weeks, of tracing down the problem, I found the wires to the crank sensor had been damaged by the serpentine belt! Fixed them, and Bingo it runs!
Guys...my 2005 Kia Rio having same issue. It crank but won't run IF the engine stop for like more than 4/5 hours (morning going to work). Once it can start and run, I will not have this issue. Had replaced fuel pump and it's running good for more than a week. Suddenly alternator gone bad and had to replaced. After replacing the Alternator, this issue failed to start happened again the next day. Had replaced the starter motor since it's like dragging but the issue still remain. Any advice guys?
Great video, and I learned a lot as a beginner, but question to be raised how we test the faulty fuel pump if we are considering that the fueses , relays ,air filter and sparking plugs were good ,your technical response is highly appreciated.
@TightWadDIY Hi.no needs to remove the fuel tank to identify if fuel pump is faulty .However, it can be tested by removing the cap on fuel line manifold to fuel injectors and by using fuel injection pressure tester you can identify if the fuel pump is faulty and usually the pressure should be between 50 to 60 psi after the car ignition is on .regards
Someone help me I have 2018 corolla it had issue before I disconnect the battery it started again after a while but now I did this also it won’t start.
My subaru didn't have a fuel pump fuse, but I changed the 7.5 amp starter fuse and the 15 amp IG 1 fuse and she started right up. Both old fuses weren't blown, whatever that means.
Great video my 2013 tundra is doing the same thing. Hoping it’s the fuse. It will start after 3 tries and once the motor is warmed up I have no issues but come across the same starting problem every morning

Nice video! My question for you is that my 08 tundra does the same thing only when it’s cold. But give it a couple hours when the weather warms up and it starts right up like nothing happened. Fuses looks good. New battery, alternator, and spark plugs are all new. It’s like chasing something you don’t know what it is. Any idea? Greatly appreciate anyone’s help?
Same here. It was working fine yesterday but this morning it was -50 so I thought that a jump start would've done the trick but still just cranks without starting 😕. Is it just the cold weather or something else.
Since you’re symptom is related to temperature- as you say when ( cold ) - and your fuse are good - I would check coolant temp sensor Coolant temperature sensors of , of course , monitor coolant temperature but - IF - there calibration gets skewed ( becomes inaccurate) They work by changing their resistance with a change in temperature - the engine ECU / PCM uses this change in resistance as a signal in fuel delivery calculations to the fuel injectors - so occasionally if a coolant temp sensor is not reading the coolant temperature accurately When you try to start the engine - the inaccurate reading by the ECU / PCM does not calculate for proper fuel delivery to the cylinder’s and can starve or flood the engine - generally- sense a cold engine needs more fuel on startup the ECU / PCM tends to flood the engine immediately when trying to start - and since the air fuel mixture is too rich - results in the engine flooding and not starting. Sometimes on modern fuel injected engines - you can get them to start by performing clear flood mode start ( holding the accelerator pedal to the floor ) This is ,of course, only a possible cause of your condition - as there are many possible reasons which will cause a no start condition. Temp sensors can be checked by placing in ice water bath ad then hot water / just below boiling and checking your ohms of resistance as with a multimeter - using a temperature/ ohm’s chart for the coolant temp sensor. All troubleshooting ✌️
