Used both they both do well, that said I think a better test would simply be to leave them on a tire sitting outside over time (days/weeks) and monitor how they last, rather than trying to wash/scrub the coating itself off. I think that's what I've noticed that Coverall does better than most, a couple weeks after I apply it the tires still seem to retain their deep black color better. They are not super shiny, but I don't like that look anyway so even after I apply the product I wipe it off to get a more dark black matte look.
I have been using Cover All for the last year on all plastic and tires on my vehicles. Inexpensive and available in a gallon for more coverage on plastics. I use the silicone based, not the California and shines great, stays on for several washes and smells great too. I’m a frequent O’Reilly’s customer now purchasing the other Superior products by the gallon and I am not a detailer, just a vehicle owner who has a little bit of time in his hands.
I would like to see how it holds up on the tire drive around for a couple day and then see which one still looks the best. I was painting my tire a long time ago because it lasted for a least 2 weeks or longer.
When i do mine personally i’ve yet to find a way to prevent overspray but since then ive switched to Meguiar’s tire shine gel and use a foam applicator block to dress it personally i got better results from doing so
i used a piece of yarn tied to a pen on one end and a nail on the other. centered the nail on cardboard and then drew a perfect circle measuring each wheel diameter and cut out the cardboard with a razor knife. i dont have a foolproof method for holding it on the wheel while i spray but this helps with overspray and runs tremendously.

I have used the Insane Shine Ultimate Tire Shine and am very happy with it. It works very well on my winter tires because an aerosol does a better job getting into all the grooves on the sidewall. Using it indoors in the garage out of the wind will minimize the overspray. I checked my O'Reilly's and at least my local store does keep the Cover All in stock. So I may have to try it some time!
I used to just keep buying different tire shines for years looking for the right one and never was saticfied with any result until I found California cover all best shine ever and it lasts me for at least 2 weeks until next apply, p.s not a sponsor😛
Here in central Florida when it rains all the products I’ve used to make my tires and black plastic panels shine don’t last a day! I would love to see these products tested in a rain storm! 😊
Coverall for me slinged a little, my last step in a detail is wiping in the cover all with a applicator to give it as much time to cure as I can before wiping it in
So....one thing I've noticed about the Meguires product (compared to almost every other silicone based tire dressing) is that the Meguire's acts differently. When applying, you can tell it REALLY sticks to the tire. When you're leveling it, or "knocking it down", you can feel almost a sticky-friction on your applicator pad. And it's music to my ears because with most silicone based dressings, you either have to soak the tire in order to cover it all, or when you're knocking it down, it starts evaporating off the tire leaving uneven spots. That doesn't happen with the Meg's. I have not yet tried cover-all though.
Me too David.I would recommend putting it on 1st before drying your car.Wear gloves, put a silver dollar amount on an applicator for use on 2 tires. You dont need much.By the time you finish drying your car its will have absorbed well into the tire.
Will this stain or leave a horrible residue on the concrete? If so, how do you get it off the concrete? This is the only reason I stay away from the aerosol tire dressings.
Coverall is the only product I will go with. Not trying to have anything fling on my newly washed truck. In my experience coverall doesn’t fling on your truck as long as you let it dry before driving.

I rarely use tire shine. My only experience is with Meguiar's tire gel. Yes, it did sling. On the back it said it could be used on trim, I probably didn't apply it right. When it rained, it made a mess. I did find out recently Turtle Wax's Seal and Shine makes a great trim clean and shine. I got some deep cleaning to do on my truck this Spring, like removing trim panels to clean them and under them. Far as shine level I like it with very little shine on tires.
I can really appreciate a fantastic shiny paint job but can't stand tires that look like glass. I'll take the water based inexpensive satin to flat tire sheen anytime.

New to your channel & love the content JIMBO! What is the best product you recommend to clean white wall tires to keep the white wall as white as possible. And what tire shine is best to keep it glossy and protected?
SOS pad or steel wool with APC. The only thing about that is as soon as you apply the steel wool or SOS pad you clean it right off or it’ll leave residue behind. The steel wool also works great on metal bumpers etc.
I remember I used to use Bleach White when I had white walls and raised white letters on my tires in the 80s and 90s.Not sure if its still available.I also used to use a white tire pen as well.

Also I use water based tire shine on all plastic trim bumper grills etc and also under the fender wells works great as long as you use water based shine.
Superior products tire dressing is my go to. I've used every tire shine on the market and feel the Superior shin holds up longer and there is less tire sling than any other. My advice is to stay away from the Black magic tire gel. By far the worst sling and almost impossible to remove without harsh chemicals that strip your wax
I hate aerosols for tire dressings, they get on places where u don't want them on. I'll stick with my chemical guys silk shine, $7 and a foam applicator. A nice semi-gloss finish and no sling. I still have half the bottle left and have had it for a year already and I wash my car 3 or 4 times a week. I hate shiny tires. I'm getting SO sick of all these new products coming out. Meguiars always splatters in my opinion, I finally tried Cover All yesterday and did about a buck on the freeway home and saw no splatter 😲
Nice!
Compear with Armor all Out Last Tire Glaze... it’s as cheap as the Meguiar and last more time and resist more Chermical abuse... Brian from Apex Detail Made the text and it amaizing..👍🏼✌🏼
Don’t like solvent based prefer the water base I don’t get and clinging to it by road/brake/and dust I fact all dust in general won’t cling and easy to wash off 👍🏽
Also I use water based tire shine on all plastic trim bumper grills etc and also under the fender wells works great as long as you use water based shine.
They’re both the same price at the stores by me the Meguiars doesn’t seem to last long
Great video
Conver all is a great product
Cover all is the best I’ve used so far. I don’t know how much worse the California version is though
It should have been done in the sun so you can really see the results.
Was thinking the same thing
Cover all is good but the price is CRAZY I went back to meguiars bout the same except the PRICE
great video and product review jimbo. b well
Superior products tire dressing is my go to. I've used every tire shine on the market and feel the Superior shin holds up longer and there is less tire sling than any other. My advice is to stay away from the Black magic tire gel. By far the worst sling and almost impossible to remove without harsh chemicals that strip your wax
When you said Alexa it activated my Alexa lol
😂
Mine too.
I think the winner here was Adam's Wheel & Tire Cleaner.

Find something you really like and stick with it. But thank you for all your tests of products, I love your passion for clean cars.
John.Have you tried Meguiars Endurance Tire Gel?
@@missayawk No I haven't but I found one called aero cosmetics rubber care, and $17 for 32ox bottle. It's absolutely perfect if you want a satin finish and man does it last. That meguires is expensive. ty.
@@johnwagner4559 The Meguiars Tire gel lasts.I recently bought 2 bottles at Walmart at the " rollback" price of $5.44!! Down from $8.98
@@missayawk Hmmm... I saw it on Amazon for almost $30.. that's a huge difference... but my mistake.. that was for 2 bottles... but still a good difference in price... Walmart does have some good deals sometimes
@@johnwagner4559 Amazon and Ebay always gonna have inflated prices.Nothing like an in store deal.
I use the cover all and love it! I can spray and leave it on and not worry about slinging. I put it on my wife's car and then it rained (Nooooo!). But the cover all still stayed shiny on the tires. I'm a fan!
Love Cover All, not the California version!
whats the difference brother?
The California version is VOC compliant in California. Plus you cannot buy it off the shelf in my state. I can get the regular stuff where I live.
I love a wet look on tires for trucks and suv. On sports cars and sedans I’ll go for a CarPro peril or vrp. Gonna try the maguiars next thanks for vid

Them deer ankles doeeee
Aah I see u had a foot fetish aye 😂
Cover all is not just spray, wait 20 min, and good to go..it slings all over your car even after 24 hours
I love me some Hot Shine =)
Great video bud tfs
Study shows the Black cap (non California) is brighter…
Pretty sweet
You never even addressed how long these products will last (shine) in the real world and how long to dry before no sling off.
Dude no offence but you need to get a Milwaukee cordless blower, instead of that little pea shooter lol
I was looking at that at home depot yesterday, been looking for a decent but not to expensive blower to dry the car off , does it work good for drying the car also how much run time do you get from the 18v
@@bangmygears IT'S A BEAST Milwaukee Tool M18 FUEL 120 MPH 450 CFM 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Handheld Blower, but the red lith batteries are expensive so I use my batteries from my drill and driver set and keep them on charge :)
It looks like he's using a metrovac blower.
But is it filtered, warmed air? That’s the advantage with his blower
