one of my favorite discussions so far i think and james i commend you for how you kept your reactions in check especially to a.... certain comment made here that made me laugh so hard
"Shingeki no kyojin" aka "the attack titan" is the actual Japanese title of the show and they kinda changed the English translation of the Japanese name so that people shouldn't be confused.
Correct me if I'm wrong but 'Attack Titan' and 'Attack Titans' would be the same in Japanese, as plurals are purely from context... so it wasn't until this episode that the audience would realise that it was singular and the name of Eren's titan, under their noses the entire time.
I'm just happy we got to see Ymir again. Her whole life has been about sacrificing for others. So seeing her declare her one true desire to be married to Historia is really sweet. And sad. She had a lifetime of being used, and when she finally had a small time of happiness, she decided to give herself up to save more people. I think Historia did love her back. In the manga(this was cut from the anime), after Ymir leaves she has a mental breakdown and starts crying. And she feels hollow without her. Maybe it's wishful thinking but their relationship was definitely special. If only they could've gotten married. I also feel really bad for Frieda. We saw a glimpse of her crying on the farm. In the manga, there's actually a small flashback involving Historia and Frieda there earlier in the Uprising Arc. Frieda wonders why Historia's hand is hurt. And Historia tells her it's because she tried climbing over the fence. Frieda becomes uncharacteristically angry and her eyes gloss over as if someone else is talking. And she screams, "I told you to never go over the fence!" The fence is obviously an allegory for the walls and how the First King seems content with leaving humanity inside them. And anyone who tries to leave must be reprimanded. Which is honestly really sad. Frieda genuinely seemed like she wanted to help. But because of the First King, she could do nothing. Like Kenny said, everyone was a slave to something. And this family was enslaved by the will of their ancestors. Forever shackled to the past.
Lol "sacrifice"🤡😂😂 ther are tons of other way better characters who sacrificed a lot. She only left Historia on Paradis because she realised that Eren can protect her since he is the founder. But also went with the terrorist "warriors" and gave her titan to nazi Marleyns 🤡 who wants to genocide the people of paradis and Ymir's favourite Historia 😂
Considering that Armin has been traumatized since he saw Eren die in front of him and then having to kill another human being (let's not forget also wheb he learned that he had eaten another person), it's kind of normal that he shows acceptance to the fact that he will die in thirteen years' time
And also, contrary to Eren, becoming a Titan shifter actually saved Armin's life. He was ready to die in Shiganshina, and he thinks he should have, so for him, it's not "die at 28 instead of living a long life", it's "die at 28 instead of 15".
The fossil fuels Marleyans are looking for are the glowing stones they found under the chapel. There's certainly more deposits of that mineral since as you said, they get the gas for the ODM gear from it
Finally y'all back, I was wondering what happened. Like the reaction and the theories, keep it up 👍🏾 Get ready for season 4. Interesting note: At the point in the show when Eren said to Mikasa "why do you look like that and we had plenty to eat." ....you guys didn't realize that EREN had plenty to eat because Mikasa was giving her portions to him. Also, someone (James) PLEASE TAKE PROPER NOTES so the guys don't forget talking points parts in the episodes.
Pretty sure barefoot guy actually looked up for all spoilers and all correct theories on the internet since way back when they were at s2. Pretty sure he already know everything since before Bertolt and Reiner reveal. (pretty obvious with his facial reactions, he reacts before the others and he looks so fake, and the way hes talking about it lol.) I dont like him. I think he's only trying to look the smartest. Kinda sad to ruin it for his 3 friends.
This story has nothing to do with jews. I understand you relate it to that because that's the only thing they teach you in American schools but I promise you this has nothing to do with that. Neither the Eldians nor the Marleys are jews. Tell that guy to stop talking about how Isayama is writing about jews, he is not.
Anyone could see the influence tho Not saying he specifically wrote about the Jew but aot has an "old Germany" aesthetic to it with the names as well It is very clear that he did take inspiration from world War Germany and concentration camps
sorry but if u cant see why and how there is a parallel then i think it is u who has skipped a few history lessons bud. ofc its not ABOUT jews but trying to ignore and disregard the similarities is stupid
@@Snax27 Germans are not the only ones who put people in camps my guy... Look no further than the USA, who put japanese people in camps during WW2... Throughout history: Stalin, Mao & ofcourse hitler... There are plenty of people who had camps xd
It does but it’s important to not separate the two because this show is ultimately talking about how people mistreat each other and how there’s parallels between the two.
It's hard to believe you're all about to be on season 4 already. Get ready
Finally!!, here is your medal 🏅 you passed the prologue.

Why did Owen have to bring the Jews into this in the intro 😤

Sorry but the constant mention of Jews makes watching this very uncomfortable 😅
It does but it’s important to not separate the two because this show is ultimately talking about how people mistreat each other and how there’s parallels between the two.
It can be triggering ofc and i would advise you to do whats best for you, but its just the focus of this part of the show unfortunately.
The theories are CRAZY. Love the discussion! All of them are very observant 🥲 how
