Mmm…Please let us get our facts right. The Pretoria peacemaking process in 2022 was a mediation effort between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) and not between the Government of the State of Eritrea and FDRE. Whilst the mediation panel was led by Former President Obasanjo, Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was very instrumental in getting the parties to an agreement.

Regarding abductions the host is rather disingenuous...the President is commander in chief. He can order the police or intelligence services to desist any activity - part of his job description. Secondly it is quite shallow of her to parrot the presidents line that if anyone knows anyone abducted to let him know - which is simply another way of saying I don't want to know and I don't care - missing persons families have appeared in the media and it is absolutely insensitive and irresponsible for the president to demand of families to prove or let him know that they have loved ones abducted by security forces. Pray how do they do that? Call him or email him? Or perhaps meet him at his favourite church? Or may be walk to statehouse? Or hire a floating balloon with effigies of their loved ones over harambee house? Absolutely heartless statement from the President - and the host trying to be even handed and fair to the president misses the plot massively as it betrays a complete lack of empathy to what is a dreadful situation.
Let us be realistic: the President knows about abductions - and they go on because he has sanctioned it. For heavens sake they put soldiers on the street during the GenZ protests. The can put a stop to it at anytime!! Where is the empathy nay the anger at this state of affairs? Of families not knowing where their loved ones are - dead or alive?
