Also, running in pitch dark in the woods will do that to someone. So many obstacles in there that can cause harm - tripping over rocks/tree stumps/etc, or running into a tree or tree branch, etc.. It’s not surprising in the least that he hurt himself whilst running from the cops in this dumb goose chase. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Pro tip: before you run from the police be sure to give them all of your information. It helps your escape.

That is the trick. When they finally get you, you will not have an ID so they will not know who you are.
And wait until the cop gets back in his car so he can easily follow you! lol This is part of why you shouldn't drive impaired, you make strange decisions sometimes. I've seen videos of people almost getting away and what they do is wait for the officer to get out of his car and approach, that way he has to run and get back in his car, giving them a heads start. Though I'd prefer if more people did it this way so they get caught faster, I guess.

@@arnoldhenry I've got a few cars in the driveway with expired inspection stickers. The cops have to actually run your plates or read the sticker to get you on it so you can get away with it for a while.
@@arnoldhenry I used to have expired tags almost every year because when your a member of the working poor it’s a tough bill to pay sometimes. For me it was because I often needed a smog and sometimes needed repairs to get that smog. Other years I’d have parking tickets I got at work that I couldn’t afford to pay so I couldn’t get my tags etc.
I knew I’d always get a warning or a fixit ticket and would generally pay it 2-3 months late. I’d usually make it to the dmv before they pulled me over for it but basically every year it was late and knew I’d get pulled over if a cop got near me.

Terminating pursuits and getting them later anyway is the best tactic the police have adopted in recent years. Thank you for keeping public safe, officers.
That's a retarded policy. Unless they know exactly who is driving like in this case. Which is rarely the case. Even if the car is registered and driven by the owner, they have to prove they were driving the vehicle, which is hard to do unless they are dumb and admit to it. If it's stolen or unregistered, all they have to do is drive like idiots until the police terminate and then find a place to ditch the car and vanish. The majority of people who get the chase terminated are never seen again until the next time they fuck up.

My Dad was a Colonel for ISP. When he was a major on patrol on the freeways, every traffic stop he made he had them shut the car off and he put the keys on the roof of the car! If they did nothing wrong he let them go if they did he pulled them out and never had an jssue with someone fleeing! Why these troopers dont do that is beyond me! 🙄🤦🏼♀️

I saw a technique in an earlier video that was new to me. In a high risk traffic stop the cops put stop sticks in front of and behind the suspect vehicle. It was something new for me. It was effective.

Even though they were already in deep dish trouble with the background check, running from cops only escalates the situation, endangers everyone on the road, and just adds more charges to your name. His decision to run off just added a couple more charges to his name. Speeding, driving erratically, and not cooperating with police by leading them on pursuit.

I think they need to a make spike tool like wheel chocks that you place on one of the wheels once they stop. If they drive away at least one tire will be flat. Make it light with an aluminum frame and steel spikes.

Unreasonable search and seizure. There’s no way of knowing who’s going to run so no reason to take someone’s keys for a routine traffic stop.

Requesting the keys is a lawful order just like asking a driver (PA v Mims) or passengers (Brendlin v CA) out of the vehicle is a lawful order. You can absolutely tell when someone is going to run through body language and attitude (I should know, it’s happened to me a time or two).

Wow I really liked how that device was saying, in the beginning, "do not arrest unless a crime has occured". It read if the tags were valid and all that which is normal, but I really like how it's all recorded. Sure a cop can follow someone they think is "suspicious" and fish for a stop, but IMO this helps people a bit.
If you listen, it says NCIC name hit before the do not arrest. Likely there was a bigger case involving him and they didnt want him picked up unless absolutely required.
@@Meijin_viper the hit was his warrant which was probably not a big deal since it said not to arrest unless there was another crime, if it was a major crime (homicide or something) it would say to arrest... it was also likely from a different county or state, usually when they don't want to rush extradition, they won't have them picked up...but if they're arrested on other charges, the county/state with the initial warrant has more time to extradite them. You also have to do a lot to validate an NCIC hit, so if its not a major crime, its not worth it.

Well played, he knew once his Id got ran he would be arrested and the car would be towed and “inventory” done, searched, so he did the smart thing and went and ditched whatever he had that would have given him prison time, a gun or drugs.
