The only thing that would’ve stuck out more than a canary yellow sports car would’ve been if he was driving a hot pink submarine with a screen door on the side of it.
This is a fact. I was a cop for 5 years and very few fought the actual arrest. But a huge number got jail courage in the back of my car. Most lost that attitude by the time they got to the jail for processing. It happened so much that I figured it was an adrenaline thing. They were amped up and nervous about getting arrested and the rush manifested itself in this kind of behavior. Like I said, by the time we pulled up to the big gray building with bars, the tough guy act was mostly gone. The reality of going to jail took over.
I got arrested for some f boy shit and gave the department my mouth the entire time. Most people just shut up cuz they don’t know if a pig will falsify evidence or beat u with ur hands behind ur back. I can't believe how calm, laid back, and professional these officers are. In the Northeast they would've chased after that yellow mustang like a pack of hungry wolves until they caught up to him. Then they would've dragged him out no mercy style and took him in to custody with his ripped shirt, bruises, and bloody nose.
This reminds me of my cousin who robbed a gas station at gun point, in the middle of a snow storm with a foot of snow already on the ground, in a black ford tempo with a blue hood ,red fender and a white door and then tried to run of foot. There are only so many yellow mustangs, how do you think you're getting away with it?
When we were younger my homie wanted to break into a Walgreens to steal bottles of alcohol. I didn’t go cuz I thought the plan was stupid, so he found someone else to go. Now mind you it’s snowing outside, at least a good 6 inches or so. Him and my boy broke in through a window, then walked back home with a cart full of bottles. The cops literally just followed their foot steps in the snow back to the house to arrest them… 🤦♂️
Such people never understand that trying to evade the police is useless. The moment they got the license plate they know who you are and where you live.
Very true, therefore you steal plate from the same color/make and model. Let some poor dude deal with explanations. Jk, if you have a warrant, you should probably stay under the radar as much as possible. Yellow Mustang is quite opposite approach.
Yeah but they still have to prove it was you driving that's why they gave the description "the officer seen him short brown hair" if you have a helmet on like on a motorcycle they can't prove it was you. Unless you got tattoos or something identifiable. I don't condone this stuff I'm older now. But if they don't have a way to identify the driver than you shouldn't even answer the door or admit anything.
I love how the officer calls in to be prepared for when he arrives with the guy because he's being aggressive and literally 8 cops are waiting for them.
awesome to see how the officers in the initial chase were chill and cool about him getting away. They didn't force a high speed pursuit and knew when to back off. Awesome police work from start to finish here boys!!!
Talk calmly, and then restrain and load swiftly when the time is right. Getting a criminal into the back of a police car is a lot like getting a cat into a pet carrier. When the door is shut, they can complain all they want.
What a comparison 😂😂 "but the cat is so much smaller than a person why would it take more than one person to get it in the carrier" "but the suspect is so much smaller than the cops why would it take more than one cop to get them into cuffs/into the police car" the ignorance is astonishing
NO, they had to lie, they were very friendly with him, showed no indication they were going to arrest him, and then after he gave them all his information, they arrested him. THis is called deception and isn't right. It's not our problem the police could not do their job and pull him over the first time. The rest is a bunch of crap. It's called private property and it's called paying property tax--if you want the police to show up in our private property unannounced with warrants, then get rid of property tax.
The Police did this right. Too many times they give chase and the suspect ends up crashing into some innocent person/bystander. This is the safest way to make the arrest. Good job on them.
Same thing happened to my buddy in 2005. Thought he could drive over a 100mph anywhere ge wanted and escape cops (very fast car) only problem was that his car was one of a kind in a town of 15000 people. All it took was a citizen calling the cops about the guy in the mustang and they just drove around until they found it in the driveway lol.
Leadfoot drivers who like fast cars also tend to like loud exhausts and loud paint colors. So not only is it possible to immediately identify their car on appearance alone, but the aftermarket exhausts also sound unique. It really helps civilians (even those who know nothing about cars) to identify them and alert authorities.
I was extremely impressed by the calm demeanor at the door by the officers. He made it so casual and raised zero suspicion and handled it perfectly. I can also agree with the rest of the comments in that it was the best choice to not engage in a police chase and find him another way. That’s the thing with police: Even if you escape, you will be found later. You cannot escape the police, ever.
Sounds to me like he was selling out his girlfriend and his sister, hell of a guy. The odds are actually good because 90% of cops think that chicks only commit crimes in bad neighborhoods or if they look homeless. He's still a chunk of shit for doing it, though.
Note: If you ever run from the police, go home, put your vehicle in the garage, watch a movie, chill-out, and reflect upon your decisions that got you to that point. Don't be this guy. This guy goes to jail for 6+ months.
@@Durwood71 You might be asking too much. These people generally are low IQ and have little to no impulse control as well as being emotionally stunted while also thinking they're "gangsta". They think it's cool to be criminals until they get caught and end up crying like the little punks they really are.
Jail never does anything to losers like this. 70% of people are repeat offenders. Our legal system is pathetically weak. All in the name of lawyers and corrupt judges who use them to make sure they have a job.
It's nice to see a police dept not go crazy trying to chase a speeder/offender and risk causing their and others' lives to be taken. Unless a person is on a shooting rampage or they know something is going to happen they should never pursue to where it's dangerous.
Yes that seems to be the shift since the old crown Vic’s have been phased out. Policing strategy went from chasing speeders and whatnot to the more safer way of just getting them at home. You can see this with the new Tahoes departments have been picking up, built less for speed and more for officer safety. Overall, this new strategy has spared countless civilian and officer lives over the years.
The chases have their reasons to be valid. - Car can be stolen and you never find this guy. He keeps stealing other cars and keeps driving like that until or even after he causes an accident and kills someone. - Owner/driver can claim he was not driving the car that day. Driver is free to keep driving like that endangering everyone around him - Plates are changed/stolen or belong to another car, making it almost impossible to track and allowing the driver to keep doing this. Its really hard to tell how worth it they are to be honest. I think it probably depends on the time of the day, traffic, how much information they can get about the vehicle/owner, and other things. If its a stolen car and traffic is light I think its definitively better to chase and try and get the rat out of the streets. (Or follow with helicopter or other means if possible/available)
The only problem is that criminals don't care much for the public safety anyways. That's one of the reasons why they're doing crime in the first place. Just listen to the absolute disrespect of the guy when they're taking him down to the detention facility. Does that sound like a guy who would care about obeying traffic laws, let alone killing a whole family in a car crash when taking his yellow Mustang for a joyride? It doesn't take a police chase for that to happen. I feel like taking criminals off the street while in the act rather than taking this long route ensures that they can't commit even more crimes or go underground in the time it takes for cops to find any leads. But if people feel safer about having criminals on the loose while the police do investigative work on their whereabouts instead of having it dealt with on the spot, then good on them.
It's a "pick your battles" thing using appropriate evaluation and strategies. If all you have is a moving violation (not usually a crime), they're in town with people everywhere, and they're driving something that is easily is going to pull away from your squad, you make notes and let the rest of the shift know. Maybe you get lucky later. If it's someone that, at that moment, is known to be wanted on a serious crime, there's a bit more of a justification to try and make the catch. That still doesn't always justify a chase, but there's certainly a more compelling reason to pursue. It's all a big calculation of risk and public safety, and yes, there's unfortunately a few cops that are bad at math.
there are videos of cop chases and how much damage they cause . they say its better to let the suspect go and get him later than to damage property or maybe get people killed

Leadfoot drivers who like fast cars also tend to like loud exhausts and loud paint colors. Or don't speed like crazy, when you have a warrant, and are on probation.
Driver is free to keep driving like that endangering everyone around him
- Plates are changed/stolen or belong to another car, making it almost impossible to track and allowing the driver to keep doing this.

@@pok3rfacReturns CoopyKat is right, they will come after you for unpaid tolls, red light camera violations, accidents, etc. You may be able to eventually beat the charges with the bill of sale, but it will be a pain in the butt and possibly require you to hire an attorney. A friend of mine donated his car, which didn't run anymore and someone fixed it and proceeded to run up $1700 in unpaid tolls. He had collection agencies calling him for over a year even after he sent the DMV the form and copied the toll authority. They wanted their money and his was the only name they had.
Better to just file it right away and be done with it. Even better, meet the buyer at the DMV and transfer it over on the spot. Then you know they aren't driving it under your name, even for a short ride home.
Relieved that I wasn't the only one who caught that. I wouldn't be surprised if this stupid ass sold their car on facebook marketplace and just handed over the keys in exchange for a venmo transaction.
There are a lot of people who really are that stupid.
That’s not exactly true in every state .. I’m Missouri you have a month to do all the paperwork
