Awesome review. I need to get back on mine once my workshop is back up and running. Have you tried any other software with it yet? Lightburn ticks all the boxed but be interested to see what open source alternatives are out there

I did try lasergrbl but lightburn is just miles ahead. I bought lightburn after the first 10 minutes. It's reasonably priced and just gets the job done.

What makes this a safe laser engraver as stated on the box; there has been no effort to protect the user from reflected laser light!
Having been using a blue laser with a shield like this it amazing how much gets reflected around the room. These need to be in an enclosure for protection, as AVE would say “Don’t look in to a laser with your remaining good eye”.

I agree, you definitely need to be wearing protective glasses and be extra vigilant.

I've just recently started looking to buy a laser engraver. I'm getting confused by some sites saying I need a fiber laser to engrave metal, yet other sites say a diode or CO2 laser will engrave metal. I know you have only had this machine for a few weeks now but wondering if you have tried any metal engraving with it yet, and if so, what are your thoughts?

You can't engrave metal with it but you can engrave a coating on the metal. These lasers are good for wood, acrylic, fabric, paper, card.

What does been nice if you've mentioned the optical output of this model. In the title (10 W)
