My dude you are talking my language! When I got to the end of Dune Part 2, I kept thinking that Episode 2 of a hypothetically better prequel trilogy should have ended on a similar note. Anakin should have become Vader at the end of film two, with the third being all about the fallout. A whole film about the Jedi being hunted down and the Empire rising with Vader as their front man.
The Dune movies also look closer to how I imagined the prequels would have looked back in the halcyon days on 1996 when I first heard about them.
And bloody hell . . . these Dune movies are fantastic right?

The Star Wars movies do bare a lot of similarities with the Dune novels. George Lucas has never acknowledged that Dune was one of his inspirations behind Star Wars. Anakin Skywalker was poorly written in the prequels and was arrogant and whiny. However, my only issue with Dune: Part 2 was the casting of Zendaya as Chani. She was miscast in the role and Zendaya's Chani was nothing like Chani from the novel and Zendaya and Timothy Chalamet had no chemistry.

We knew the Prequels wasn't it. Because Anakin turn needed to be conviencing and an unavoidable tragedy.
Instead it was lazy and dull.
The Dune books/movies are anything but.

Do I need to watch the third Denis Dune movie before I watch this video? I don’t want any spoilers.

There are no spoilers for the third Dune movie (or the second Dune book.)
