One of the main things about Anakin was his upbringing that Qui-Gon would have to help undo. He always had that slave/master outlook on life, and in many ways, he was still a slave even after Qui-Gon got him out of slavery. He was a slave to the Jedi and one as a Sith. He was never truly free being either. For Anakin, masters have all the power. They've always had the power. Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, Yoda, Darth Sidious - all of them Masters. And for Anakin, the acquisition of power leads to one being a Master.
For Anakin, power is something that makes one a master. And for slaves, they have none. So that means a lot to someone like Anakin.

This hits hard considering that the Jedi order allowed him a seat on the council, but denied him the rank of 'master'.

    • @Vietmac1993

I understand why Anakin wanted to be a master and why he felt he deserved the rank but Anakin had emotional control issues. Was it entirely his fault? No. He needed a master who had his best interest at heart and can teach him to regulate his emotions. Obi Wan was a good teacher but he had his flaws.

    • @ValkyricValfrious
      @ValkyricValfrious 9 месяцев назад +1

@@Vietmac1993 obi-wan was just an obedient slave to the jedi, as far as role models go you really can't pick anyone better, thats why obi-wan was allowed to train anakin after qui-gon died. and that wouldnt have happened unless obi-wan had defeated darth maul after he killed qui-gon because qui-gon wouldve gotten the praise, had he lived.
obi-wan was a good teacher but the jedi had their flaws. is a better way of saying this.
My opinion? nothing would be different had anakin been raised by qui-gon instead, because the force chose him, his destiny was set. He had power, what he never had was respect.
Anakin would podrace to cure his boredom, he wasn't seeking power, he had that.
Anakin built machines that had personalities when he was a child, he was a master already.
He wanted support and friends, not fathers, trying to force him into a box they think he can fit into, brothers, that tried so hard to compete, yet failed. and ended up envying him. so much they refused to honor him and give him the rank of master, their envy was their downfall.
he needed fans. not a family. he needed to know that the people around him were the ones he needed to save, because he couldnt tell the difference between those that wanted to help him and those who just wanted to manipulate him. and thats why he liked sideous, because sideous was anakins only real friend. fan, whatever.
anakin received so much negativity from the jedi that he couldnt tell the difference between them and the sith, let that sink in.
why would anything be different had anakin been a sith? he wouldve been raised the same, grew up hating them for how they treated him, and a different set of younglings woulda gotten the lightsaber.
the only reason you care is because you've been cultured into believing that the jedi order was without blemish.

If Qui-Gon lived then I think it's clear that Anakin never falls to the Darkside, and the plans of the Sith fail ultimately. Remember Dooku doesn't become Sidious's apprentice until after Qui-Gon is killed, so Dooku wouldn't fall either. I think it would be most likely that what would happen is Sidious continues his plan as normal, sans an apprentice. Qui-Gon, Anakin, and Dooku all leave the Order and create a new schism in the Order, it now becomes a three way playing board.

I am glad this conversation has been had.. I came to this realization a couple years ago, that Qui Gon Jinn is the greatest “Jedi” ever. And I highlight Jedi because as you considered and spoke on, Qui Gon leaving the order. The Jedi Order exists, and operates at it’s peak during a time in the universe when there is Slavery still, and as an order that had an influence and the capability to impact the direction of the empirical structure and it’s politics; they were allowing that to happen to other living beings throughout various parts of the universe. And here Qui Gon Jinn freed a child slave, and did so when Obi Wan didn’t agree to the idea and Queen Amedala, who was currently in a fight for her planet to be saved from oppression by the trade federation, she didn’t even like the idea initially… Qui Gon has a moral compass that naturally won’t always agree with an orders set of rules and laws, he lives and operates within his limited abilities, he can’t save everyone, he does have to live in that reality. But when the opportunity to save a child and free him from slavery, he did it despite nobody else supporting his decision.. Qui Gon’s act of freeing this child, imbedded into that child the belief that one day, he will free all slaves!
And in closing as to why he’s the greatest… he achieved spiritual manifestation and the ability to communicate from the afterlife and taught it to yoda and was passed on to obi wan. HE TAUGHT YODA!!!

I have always thought that Anakin would've been blue in the beginning. Following this it would go red, green or blue every once in a while when Anakin tapped into the different sides of the force. First time any jedi doesn't have a solid color. And to finish it off, it would turn permanently white because Anakin has found true balance with the force. Goes down as the only force user to have a white lightsaber.
His face would constantly change in the beginning and then be perfectly calm at the end. Shows the stages the choosen one had to endure. Even the crystals changed since the force itself fells the drastic changes in the force

qui gonn's faith in the will of the force and emotional acuity to balance his emotions with that would have been able to teach that emotional balance to anakin, who's tragic flaw is the inability to understand, digest, and temper his anger or any of his other emotions. he also sought power for his own gain, but seeking that power was driven by his frustration with his life in the jedi order. And his teachings in the order was to not feel, to disassociate from his feelings. i feel him continuing to struggle with putting his anger to a greater purpose instead of getting quagmired in it while he is darth vader is evidence of that. qui gonn demonstrates with his other beliefs that he doesn't just reject his feelings to achieve a quiet mind but instead balances himself and that is what anakin was sorely missing both in his training and in his life. however i don't believe anakin would have been accepted into the order without qui gonn dieing and i believe qui gonn would leave the order to train anakin since he's so adamant that it needs to happen. But since the will of the force requires balance and his death is what unbalances the force the most (originally), its possible he dies somewhere else or someone else dies instead, like maybe kenobi. or maybe qui gonn sees the evil in palpatine early, kills him, and causes the war through the force being unbalanced that way.

As the jedi sentinel class incorporates many aspects of both the jedi guardian and the jedi Councillor class. The jedi sentinels also have multiple skills sets that are uniquely there own. That are taught to no other class of jedi. Then as anakin matures he will probably go on to incorporate the skill sets of the jedi shadows. It is then at this time that anakin will obtain a purple lightsaber crystal allowing for anakin to potentially master duel wielding with both yellow and purple lightsabers.

Qui-Gon was more of a teacher than a doer. Obi-Wan was the opposite, and so was Anakin. A doer can't teach a doer. Not all Jedi should become masters.

Jinn would've been a phenomenal teacher to Anakin. Had he not died to Maul, I'm not 100% certain Dooku would've turned to the Sith. He very well may have still left the order, but I'm not certain he'd still go down that dark path. It feels like Jinn's death, and how the Jedi council mismanaged the circumstances surrounding Jinn's death, pushed Dooku over the edge to the dark side.
Honestly, Dooku being present as an occasional guide/mentor/teacher also probably would've benefited Anakin.
Which honestly I also kinda think that Dooku, Jinn and Anakin might very well have bailed on the order to follow the force and not the inflated, susceptible to corruption and manipulation version of the Jedi order that existed during the prequel Era.

In current canon according to Tales of the Jedi it seems like Dooku was already working with Sidious prior to Qui-Gon’s death, which does make sense according to the timeline and when Dooku and Sidious would have had to have commissioned the clones. In that sense Dooku still was likely already too far gone, the events seen in Tales of the Jedi episode 4 would still have happened and Dooku would kill Yaddle and breach the point of no return.

If Qui-Gon survives, I think there are major changes in the series of events throughout the prequel era. I feel like the council’s decision to allow Qui-Gon to train Anakin could really go either way but I am more partial to the idea that they’re too stubborn to allow it, thus forcing Qui-Gon to make the decision to leave the Jedi order. I also think once he does leave with Anakin, one of the first things he does is buy out or just straight up take Shmi away from Tattooine by force. He wouldn’t leave something so important to Anakin unresolved like that. Dooku probably wouldn’t have turned to the dark side and instead I think he would have aided Qui-Gon in a financial manner to travel and aid anyone in the galaxy who needed it while he was training Anakin. And I think it would be safe to say that Dooku also doesn’t start moving politically to start the CIS, instead I feel like Plageus would have more of a hand in that being on the IBC board. And I also feel like the commission of the clone army would be something Palpatine would be more directly involved with. That would tie both of the Sith more directly to their shady dealings and it would be a lot easier to link them to that conspiracy to orchestrate a war. It’s also feasible that they don’t have the ability to get the war off the ground and instead opt for a military coup in some way involving the clone army. Ultimately I don’t see Anakin falling to the dark side and he would be able to reach his fullest potential. I think Qui-Gon would probably accidentally create a new sect of the Jedi as well.

While they are Legends concepts and terms, the crystal colors still have meanings reflecting them. And that is why I see a Cyan or even Aquamarine crystal. Anakin would be between the two primary branches of Jedi Knight, in harmony with the Force and his Destiny as the Chosen one to protect

He absolutely would have told Qui-gon, And Qui-Gon would have gotten him to come to terms with what he did in a more appropriate way and then learn from it.

I just wanted to share one of my thoughts of many. 😅 I'm glad yall made this video! I had been thinking about this a lot lately!
I feel like if Qui Gon were to have been around, he also wouldn't have let Palpatine manipulate Anakin as much throughout his life either. They both may have just left the order with it becoming so political and Qui Gon would have trained Anakin in the old ways away from the order. Also, with Qui Gon being so much more in tune with the force and their will and balance, I feel like he may have even been able to sense the threat of Sidious (him and obi wan do both say they feel a disturbance in the force in episode 1 when they go to meet with the trade federation and they are told to kill the jedi by Sidious) that the rest of them didn't as a result of the war... Considering the rush in finding and training padawans just to become soldiers instead of peace keepers fulfilling the will of the force as knights and everything else he would've seen past everything as he discovered the cosmic force before even yoda knew.
I'd started typing this before I got to the end of your video but I'm just gonna post it anyway 😂
Yall are right it would have changed everything and we just gotta love the art that Lucas gave us ❤

As a follower of the living Force I don't believe that Qui-Gon jinn ignores Anakin's visions. Obi-Wan ignored those visions and by the time Anakin was able to act upon them it was too late for his mother. I believe that Qui-Gon jinn and Anakin act upon those visions and get to me before she dies. Because Qui-Gon does not die I don't believe the Dooku ever leaves the Jedi Order let alone becomes a sith. Qui-Gon Jim's death what is one of the things that made Dooki finally quit the order. Because Qui-Gon didn't die I don't believe that's Dooku left the order. Even if dooku did leave the order I don't believe he could make himself kill Qui-Gon jinn in a lightsaber duel.

I have to disagree with Qui Gon being the ONLY Jedi master that could’ve done well training Anakin. He was probably the best fit but I believe Plo Koon and Mace Windu would’ve been good masters for Anakin, both for different reasons (Would say Yoda but Dooku like Anakin was very rebellious and idealistic as a Jedi and Yoda failed Dooku as his master, which makes me think he might’ve failed Anakin the same way).
Plo Koon like Qui Gon could’ve definitely been the father figure Anakin needed, and as well as that his compassion for all life and his great leadership skills would’ve rubbed off well on Anakin, I also believe Plo likely would’ve listened to Anakin if he voiced concerns about the order as Plo wasn’t super dogmatic to the order and thought differently to many Jedi. Plus even after Anakin’s knighting Plo would’ve maintained a strong bond with Anakin through both him and Ashoka who saw Plo along with Obi Wan as somewhat of her other masters. Not forgetting of course Plo could’ve taught Anakin the obscure force power electric judgement.
Mace Windu on the other hand might’ve been very strict to the code but he also could’ve served well as a father figure to Anakin all be it a very strict one, and in my opinion Mace could’ve honed Anakin’s power level to that beyond what any other Jedi master could due to Mace’s ability to control his inner darkness whilst staying grounded in the light, something he and Anakin shared. Anakin would’ve definitely been a lot more dogmatic and less likely to rebel against the council (Even though I feel a small part of that just is Anakin), but he would’ve been a much more emotionally stable Jedi and probably wouldn’t have fallen to the darkside, not to mention Anakin using Vapaad as well as him possibly still choosing to adopt Djem So into his fighting style and it would’ve made him a ridiculously overpowered duellist as well as much stronger in the force than we ever saw especially if Mace was able to teach Anakin how to use shatterpoint. He definitely would’ve been a different type of Jedi under Mace than we’re used to seeing but also a good one.

@StupendousWave I always believed the reason for Qui Gon Jinn getting bested by Darth Maul was sourly because Obi Wan didnt use the force jump as fast as he should have to get back on the platform then he should have. He literally should have used the force run (Like the both had done while on the ship trying to open (Melt with lightsaber) the doors when getting away from the Destroyer Droids) so he could 100x sooner rejoin the lightsaber battle with his master against Maul all right before the two even reach the shield doors. Which in all would mean Qui Gon would not at all have to continue the tiresome battle 1 on 1 any longer. With all that I believe In the end it would be the jedi that would be victorious against the sith and Qui Gon would be the one to train Skywalker, never becoming Darth Vader

What if maul used force run to run away, and qui-gon used to keep up, still the 1 on 1 battle. that qui-gon lost on purpose, in order to become a jedi spirit, if you watch the fight between old ben kenobi and vader, its the same. ben drops his lightsaber and takes the hit. yoda is different because he isn't killed, but if you think about how old he was and that he was probably keeping himself alive through the force like sideous was its not crazy to think he had to give up immortality in order to die and become a ghost.

In that respect I think Obi-Wan presents the reality of fatherhood - that when you become a father for the first time, you're not truly ready for it, even if you intended to have a child, but there's still so much that is unknown to you - yet you try to do the best you can with what you have to work with, no matter how imperfect it is.

The major thing Qui-Gon would have done was really teach Anakin about the living force and how even though people may die, they live on through the force, they move with it and become one with it, along with how the Living Force has a will and people deaths are often a major part of that will, these things would help him overcome his biggest reason for turning to the Dark Side, his fear or his loved ones dying. Qui-Gons biggest failure as a Jedi I believe is not instilling these beliefs in Obi-Wan which meant they never had the opportunity to get passed down to Anakin.

Obi Wan had just become a Jedi, he might have been too young and inexperienced to handle such a complicated person like Anakin who already started with attachments, which you guys even agree later on. But I feel an experienced Jedi might have done a better job.
The issue with this conversation is this is titled "Why Qui-Gon was the ONLY Perfect Master for Anakin". None of you make any real point or argument about anyone else possibly training him other than Obi Wan or Qui Gon. What makes all these other Jedi not worthy to train him? You guys never really even bring up the subject as to why any other Jedi couldn't possibly succeed better than Obi Wan.

Palpatine didn't give him anything but praise and friendship for saving him from the bounty hunter attempt on his life. which was obviously a setup by palpatine himself. especially after he specifically says that he would look into his career with great interest? no way palpatine wasn't pulling the strings.
Padme was used to get close to anakin as well after he noticed his feelings for her, and then she just... dies because she loses the will the live after giving birth to two kids? bacta tank her. theres no mother that gives birth and just decides to nope out because she just has no desire to live and raise her kids.
100% killed by palpatine, all palpatine had to do in order to control anakin was to keep his plan of killing her after childbirth in motion. then anakin won't stop dreaming about it.
He was able to manipulate him because of how other kids treated anakin, because of anakins gifts, it made him competition to his peers and also to his teachers, obi-wan, mace windu, yoda, qui-gon all would've seen him as a rival. their minds would be clouded by envy.
Palpatine was obviously anakins best teacher, and thats why anakin followed him in the end.

I like what you guys are saying about Anakin being called to power as the chosen one but I think it is also highly influenced by his past. Anakin’s lust for power never could have been properly dealt with if the trauma he endured from being a slave was never properly addressed. It’s being born into and spending a decade in slavery that shapes his whole world view and that in conjunction to losing his mother to a preventable death (because I think Qui-Gon would have listened to Anakin about his dreams, also he always intended to do something to free Shmi so this is assuming she even remains on Tatooine) that really fuels his lust for power. At least that’s my opinion.

  • @rileyholland161

I also think there's more to explore and be said about Anakin's motivations and pushes towards the dark side that were out of Obi-wan's control. First with the confirmation that Anakin's conception was brought by Palatine's dark force manipulation of midichlorians. Which to me says that Anakin's lust for power and fall to the dark side were inevitable. So to me it's hard to think that simply a different master would have changed his outcome. There's also the instance where Anakin has the vision of his mother then procedes to attempt a rescue. Which results in a failure leading him to slaughter the tuskens, beginning his quest for irrational power. Obi-wan couldn't have done anything for Anakin had he even known what was taking place.
